  1. In Pokemon they may do, but the last time I checked (and I do check regularly) they grunted a bit like a deer.
  2. Me and Tim Rodriguez met when we did a paper round at the same newsagents. We were both riding shit bikes at the time - i was on my dad's Emmelle and Tim was riding his friend's bike. As me and Tim became friends we used to go on cross country rides and then we started buying MBUK and going to Teddington Lock to do some jumps. Sadly neither of us did anything but the small 5 foot jump and the big half pipe. We saw the BBC documentary about trials with the Martins, Chris Akrigg and Eddie Tongue and knew that was what we wanted to do. In the summer of 99 Tim bought a Trek 280 which got stolen. In January 2000 I got my 19" Kona Blast and in March 2000 Tim got a Handsome Dog. We set about learning trials with no outside help at all apart from Tricks and Stunts. After a year we could endo, bunnyhop and get up 5 brick high walls. I broke my ankle that Summer which slowed me down a bit, so Tim has always been better than me :P We slowly progressed, learning everything that was required. After riding for about 3 years I'd say that we were competant. After 4 years we were good, and now after 5 years we're about the same as we were a year ago - sadly we don't get to ride as much as we'd like. I'm steadily improving, although I still can't gap or sidehop at all which is a shame. I'm hoping that during the summer I'll get all that dialled. It's just a shame to see riders who've been riding for maybe 2 years who are much better than you - life's a bitch though isn't it. Stephen Morris.
  3. Are there actually any pictures of you though?
  4. If you put a space between Danny and Tipple then you only get 4 results, 2 pictures of your bike, one of the number 1 and a picture of a cup - none actually of you though (Y)
  5. Right I'm a very bored little boy so I thought I'd do what I often do when I'm bored, play on Google. There are a few games that can be played on google; some people like to Googlewhack, others my self included like to search for their own name and see how popular they are compared to other people with the same name, some people even use Googlewhack to search for stuff - nobody on Trials-Forum mind! So to the point, go to Google and click 'images' and then type in your name (first name and surname) and see how popular you are. Does your photo come up or are you a complete loser in the field of people with your name? Have a look and post the results. You'll find that the less popular your name is, the better at this game you'll be, Tim rodriguez (below) is the first person who pops up when you enter his name. Also specify what page you turn up on. Pictures posted by you of your bike or something else do not count, it must be a photo of you. If you're on there at all then it will probably be on the first few pages. 'Stephen Morris' on Google Page 2 'Stephen Morris' on Google Page 3 'Tim rodriguez' on Google Page 1 Yes I'm bored, but at least I'm finding something constructive to do and I'm not showing you pictures of how my bike looks now I've put an identical (yet newer) Comp 24 on it (Y) For those who are interested there's actually a book called "Stephen Morris" written by a guy called 'Neville Shute' it's about planes and stuff, I bought it a while back but haven't read it. Once again, apologies for this useless topic, if one person plays my game I'll be happy! Peter Haydon, George Seamons, Mike Hardman, Matt/Matthew Staples, James Lim and Andrew/Andy Chai I've already checked for you - sorry guys you don't make the grade. Stephen Morris.
  6. I've got it if you want to borrow it... Seahorse Reconsoliation and Persecutory Grandiloquence Both of these were googlewhacks that I got when I read the book, but now neither of them are googlewhacks, the world of whacking is ever-evolving. Stephen
  7. When and where are you planning on riding? Enjoy the security wont you (Y)
  8. You just need to keep trying to log in. I know it's irritating, but sometimes MSN just refuses to let you log on for half an hour. This is the perfect time to use older methods of communication such as semaphore or morse code. Stephen (Y)
  9. Since when did Chai become the joker! (Y) Very good yo yo tricks, thanks for bringing them to my attention Andrew (Y)
  10. I've got in touch with Simon on MSN (Y)
  11. Sitting on the edge of something scary, looking down across the gap or the drop and shitting yourself. You convince yourself that your brakes aren't working, it's too wet or maybe or something just as pathetic. Then when it gets quiet, when nobody's looking, you finally go for it and realise it was a peice of piss. THAT feeling is the best thing about trials, when you do a big move that's been scaring you shitless for ages.
  12. The most relaxed video I've seen in a long time, really enjoyable to watch :(
  13. I don't like that idea. Why shouldn't I be able to appear in my own video? I like to make videos that show an atmosphere, the atmosphere of me and a few mates out riding and having fun. I don't like videos of just one rider - they're boring. I also don't videos of just one location, I think it's good to have variation and mix it up a bit. If anybody's interested I'm working on a few videos at the moment: Night riding video - Poole, Bournemouth, Reading, London and Milton Keynes (Due April) Technical video - long, fluid, quick and smooth lines - sexy X-ups, crankflips etc (Due June) Summer video - set wherever we ride during the summer (Due September) All the videos will have the same people: Tim Rodriguez, Andy Chai, James Lim, Matt Staples and myself (plus others if they come out). If my videos are done near the video competition then I'll save them for that. Would be nice to get some provisional dates in place. Stephen.
  14. I know that the AA website does :ermm:
  15. why not do it like the world cup? *Has Stephen gone mad?* :ermm: if there are 25 videos split them up randomly into groups of 5, everybody downloads every videoo and votes for their favourite in each round (only say 5 rounds, not 12 or whatever like last time) Then have the top video from each round and 1 highest 2nd placer all against each other in the final. That sounds fun, we could have goal difference as well!
  16. If Derek makes a video and wins 2 categories then there are a few problems: A - Which category does he get 1st place for B - If Derek wins the 2nd category, but somebody else takes the prize, then surely he will still be considered the winner? C - Will Cyril who came 2nd and then moved up into first, actually feel like he's won fairly? Just a thought. Last year was good, except the best video didn't win.
  17. It's called an MCU - medium close up. Showing the neck and shoulders gives an element of distance between you the viewer and the person being viewed. Once you see only the face, a CU - close up, you are encroaching the boundaries further. These shots are used to create drama and show important facial features, therefore it's usually more appropriate to cut off the hair. However I myself would move the tripod back a foot.
  18. The only things I didn't like (yet still watched) were the romoval of the skin and the chiseling of the skull. Apart from that it wasn't too gruesome and I certainly found it fascinating. There was some serious moral and ethical debates about whether or not Channel 4 should be allowed to show a corpse on television, but I think it was done very well. Stephen.
  19. Oh my God!!! (N) It's shcoking because it's real. They're currently removing this man's skin! (He's already dead)
  20. If there are 'boobies' George then they'll probably be being removed or something similar. Watch and find out anyway, it looks like it will be really interesting.
  21. I'll watch stuff like salad fingers and the milkman on www.fat-pie.com but I'm not a fan of manga and anime, plus I've not watched the Matrix, so I doubt I'd understand it.
  22. The reason why the Playstation and PS2 are obviously better is the sheer volume of games released on it. If I recall there were about 1500 playstation games compared to maybe 200 on other consoles such as the Dreamcast and the N64. I think the same can be said for the PS2 which has loads of games exclusive to it as opposed to the Xbox which has a lot less. One thing that I am certain about is that the Playstation was far better than the Dreamcast and the N64. I remember having arguments in French when I was about 15 with idiots who actually believed that the N64 was better than the playstation. The Playstation had the advantage of a catalogue containing hundreds and hundreds of games whereas the N64 had Zelda and Goldeneye. The downfall of the N64 is that all the games seemed to be really childish with cutesy graphics. The downfall of the dreamcast is that it was shit. Although I'm too old to really care about modern consoles I know that I like the PS2. I have one, and although I only have about 3 games (I need some more) I'm not too bothered about it, I have better stuff to do, but I see the PS2 as the natural progression from the Playstation. Its best feature has to be the volume of games that you can buy. As for arguments about online gaming - I don't care about that stuff. I've never tried it and I doubt I ever will. The most adventurous I get is playing Internet darts and backgammon on the Internet with my girlfriend. Another point that people keep using is the size of the CPU or whatever it is. The Playstation was 32bit, and the N64 was 64bit (I don't know about the modern consoles) but what I do know is that all consoles use about 10% of the possibilities, so it doesn't really matter what size it is. I think there's a point in there somewhere - if you look hard enough you might find it. Stephen.
  23. Thanks for that insight into your life George.. how are you and the dogs doing today? As it happens this Tsunami programme is relatively interesting. To save posting another topic, everybody should watch "Anatomy For Beginers" on Channel 4 at 11.05pm. Stephen.
  24. I WAS watching BBC1 - "It's not my fault I'm fat" but it was very boring. So now I too am watching the Tsunami programme, and I don't even really want to! There's nothing on tv and I have cable!
