  1. They're decent for the money. Get a used Raceface signature DH Isis if you can Cost way more new but I've got 2 and both were stupidly cheap. Try Pinkbike, all the mtbers are on Hollowtech now so Isis to them is now what square taper is to us.
  2. He only had it cut off a few months ago!! You MUST have seen it lol.
  3. Some of you might know John Scott Fitzgerald, he used to have really shit long hair, now it's gone. He has this instead now. Big thanks to Luke for the additional photography.
  4. The first thing people wanna know is the geo, you know this Looks good though! I always prefer colour matched frame & forks, do a comparison!
  5. That's the thing, you can ask for any length chainstays you like, but if you have horizontal dropouts with 22-16, then your back end will always be roughly 364mm, ish, depending on how tight or loose you like your chain. Taking another link out means going stupidly short that I've only seen on about one other frame.
  6. Looks good! Nice red touches.
  7. Substantial. I feel the riding deserved a more eventful song, but otherwise, substantial. I can't even be bothered to count the amount of stuff in there I've never seen before.
  8. Wanted to know if anyone's broken one or if they're stronger/weaker than your average cheaper ones. I've got one on the front and it's brilliant, but on the back I'll be using their biggest mount with a 203 rotor and can't really afford for it to fail, I know it's top quality but it's also pretty minimal & machined out so I wondered. My current Hayes one is an absolute trustworthy block, but it doesn't meet the pimp requirements of my bike.
  9. Cheers! I knew the colours would be winners
  10. Ok cool, I might try a 70 ish x 35 if I can, just to see how it compares. Yeah I know what you mean Sharn, I prefer the stem closer to the headset, I think the new Skye has the best proportions of any street bike, it just looks right. But no I've never been tempted to try bmx bars, do they come wide enough? My bars are 30" and anything less seems weird now. M6 bolts are the norm yeah, But I think bmx's have M8 threads. The Trialtech 25deg and 35deg were always either too low or too high for my older frames, this time the 35 seems about right so I'm happy with it for now.
  11. Cheers Ali! I had months to buy all the right parts for it While it's a steep head angle, my forks are 30mm offset unlike the Arcades 25mm so that should blunt the effect a little bit. I definitely wouldn't want it any steeper! It's still lively though. I'll try and have a proper ride this week but with this weather I think it's gonna be skateparks for a while! Probably several trips to Corby. I haven't got a shorter stem to try but I did think about a 70mm, I'll see if I can get a Hope or something else slightly shorter than mine. Have you ever had your bars spin in a Hope stem? I weigh one metric ton and it puts me off doing gap drops.
  12. Cheers, the problem with big bars is that there's lots of leverage to spin them in the stem clamp, I had it quite a lot on old stems with big bunny hop gaps and some gap drops. I won't use m5 threads on a stem anymore and I've stripped a couple. Trust me, that would only be worse with 8 or 9 inch rise bars instead of 3" or 4". Plus, it'd look far more retarded than the most retarded street trials bike. It's been like that since the start of 24" street trials bikes, personally I think mod stems look retarded, but it's just always been that way and obviously works.
  13. It's not really an anal thing....I asked for 1000mm which is the rough ballpark of most street frames, and pretty much what I've had for the last 4 years, but I wanted more room so I kept the wheelbase where it was and got a lot more reach, longer top tube & slightly lower bb. If you'd like anal measurements, the wheelbase actually measures 999 not 1000, and if you want super deep anal then the bb is more like +14mm than +15mm. But I can live with that. I've always had super cramped bikes, bruised thighs and no room, I always played it safe with geo so I took a risk & thought maybe it'd end up too long but it feels about right so far, it has way more reach but doesn't seem to suffer anywhere for it. I prefer the look of a slightly lower front end too, but I'm a decent height, and that is the amount of spacers that it needs to ride the way I need it to, not much I can do about that. But that's height, posture, personal preference, style etc, everyone and every bike is different. I could do an Ozonys and have 80mm of stackers and a 0 degree rise stem. These are my first horizontal dropouts in 17 years, I'm glad I got some.
  14. Cheers everyone, had the first ride today, feels f**king excellent! So light and flicky, really easy on the front wheel too, not just static but twisting stoppies too, so much less effort.
  15. Very nice.I like the rotors, not so keen on that rear brake adaptor scenario...
  16. Cheapo? I don't need that fancy alloy spider crap
  17. Cheers! Get yours built up
  18. Thanks everyone! Family I agree on the front end, I don't think super steep looks the best, but it's pretty handy. The bmx style forks exaggerate it too. James the geo is 999, 364, 75, +15. Forks are 410 x 30.
  19. Cheers. But if you think that's a big bash......lol. All 4 bolt bash guards are bigger than that. Anything smaller doesn't look right on a street bike. I had SLX cranks with a 4 bolt bash on yesterday, and that DID look too big.
  20. Na, I just find them amusing. It's slightly lower than the Archive and a bit longer in the top tube, and a tiny bit steeper too. Same back end though. I rode Ross's Archive last year and it was a bit too short for the trialsy stuff for me, so was my old bike so I've got a bit more room on this one while still keeping it under 1000mm.
  21. Cheers! That's what I wanted to call it, and it was my decision to make Plus Onza and Deng have used up most of the English language.
  22. This turned up, so I built it. Waiting for my custom stickers but they'll be a week yet. Geo is 999wb, 75deg, 364cs and +15bb.
  23. I like it, always loved the old swirl paint guitars but it'd cost about £250 a guitar to do mine. Is your stuff easy/cheap to do?
