Ali I've seen your for sale thread, most people don't have 600 levers and calipers to play with, until you regularly use them on your bike over the old ones and have success I'll continue to dislike them The feel is a problem for me too, they're just unnecessarily short, reminds of the '98 xt levers. As a whole m820 brake, pretty much everyone I've spoken to about theirs was disappointed and got rid of them, which in turn was disappointing for me because good or new M810s are getting rarer.

There is no way the new brake is more powerful with that tiny little lever. We need more power than any mountain bikers, and if M810 are cool but M820 are not, then power - wise that's pretty conclusive. Bleeding an M810 is not exactly hard, I heard the seals got better but other than that they're just not as good for trials, only a tiny percentage of disc brakes are.

Yeah but they're the same as M820's, which 9/10 people say are pretty crap for trials and have ugly stubby little levers which offer no leverage. I have no idea why they ever got rid of the M810 lever.

Hs33 it is then! I'm sure some good hopes will be fine but I don't know what they sell for, plus Hopes seem to deteriorate a lot once used. My Saints are about 20 months old now and feel about as new as the day I got them.
  6. I've got one But I don't think I wanna sell it, useful I know.
  7. Technically it's disc only, all the logos run onto where your pads would be too. But that part of the rim is pretty flat so it should work no problem, I'm sure Ali did it once. But like Bing said, DMR Backlines are great, 35mm too and pretty bombproof, and with a proper braking surface.

I just can't see it being great, my old Maguras (with tar) all had better hold than my Saints, a BB5 will be nowhere near Saints, let alone a Magura hs33. I've only tried BB7's, and one of them really impressed me, old model caliper on the front of a 26" tgs bike with an XT lever, but other than that I've never been blown away by cable discs. Use a Magura if you've got the mounts.

Go 203 if you have to use that brake, even if it works perfectly a BB5 ain't gonna set the world on fire.
  10. That will not be nutritious at all, 680 is already as narrow as bars were about 10-12 years ago. You'll be able to ride through narrower doorways, that's about it.
  11. Great riding, kid's got balls! Makes me realise I'm too old for this shit. Bike does sound like a bag of spanners though, he's only little, he can land smoother than that. I did find some of the camera work shoddy for a production company though, especially the drone, didn't really see the point when he's not covering any distance and the drone's 4 feet off the floor.
  12. I thought "there's no way he's making that last gap" Nice gap style.
  13. They Skye's always been just a 10mm bb rise. Bendy down tube/ tyre to downtube gap makes the front look higher than it is, it's not that high for a 24", my front end is the same but with 40mm of spacers under the stem!
  14. It's not bad looking, was expecting a white shitter. It's worth whatever you wanna pay. On eBay i don't think it'd fetch 400 quid. I'd offer him 350 and see what he says.
  15. That green one is not a mk1 though, 2012 I think, much better geo, more desirable!
  16. Defintely don't offer him over 400, that bike was out in 2008/2009 and the geo is pretty bad compared to everything out there now. £300 is more than fair.
  17. Trialtech cranks are too cheap looking, here's a few acceptable alternatives... RaceFace Middle/upper end Shimano Middleburn Anything with character and no holes.
  18. Nice! I had Slx cranks a few weeks ago but the grey just didn't match anything else on my bike so they had to go, shame, they felt alright!
  19. Looking good so far, I don't wanna see any deng on it!
  20. Song instantly took me back to Revolution! Nice.
  21. Same, I used pure anti freeze for years and never had a single problem, my only problems were when water was involved.
  22. Picked this up Friday, £100 with EMG 81 + 60!!
  23. Most people use 22-16, a 15t would be nice for big run ups and big pedal gaps, but apart from that I think I'd prefer a 16t myself. Personal preference really, but it'll be one of those, a 14t or 17t are a no go.
