Cheers people! Luke I did ask jonny but he said it's pretty much a no go as there's no artwork available. I don't know Lucy but if you reckon she can make some that'd finish off the frame nicely.

Cheers! Yeah it's the rare Herzblut limited edition, spacing is absolutely on the limit for this frame, just fits with no fiddling, it's probably the same spacing as a Magura steel one. I don't think many modern boosters fit spacing this small, think it's only 83 or 84mm.

Built this the other day, turned out alright! Frame is freshly shot blasted and powder coated, but Ashton stickers are made of unobtanium.
  4. I find it best to get them hot while they're dry. Then chuck water on once they're burning hot. Repeat a few times. But if they're not squealing or contaminated maybe they're just crap pads.
  5. How did you bed them in? Riding trials for 2 rides won't bed any disc brake in.
  6. Pretty big, they have huge clearance and long chainstays, someone I know got an IRC Kujo 2.6 in there no problem, which was a big balloon like 2.6.

    Ashton.

Very nice, I'm building a stealth one this week, do you know what boosters fit? I'm finding most modern ones too wide for it.
  8. 22 - 16 is a bit much on a Hex (26" wheels). It's the norm on 24" though. I use 2 sprockets now and then too, for me the smaller one was just for fast run ups that my trials gear wouldn't allow, but it's handy fo big skate parks too, a trials gear won't get you far unless you can pump like a pro.
  9. Yeah I think every little thing makes a difference, maybe I've just got T rex arms, anyway I've got a nice chunky headset and I'm gonna try some Arcade bars too, ta Mark. Ben....how are those levers with those calipers? Is there any difference in lever travel to Saint levers? I just bought some barely used SLX brakes cheap and plan to try Zee or M820 calipers with them, I'm not expecting the SLX calipers to be quite up to the job.
  10. Cheers Sharn! Yeah I get what you mean, but I've had slightly longer forks in the past, and somehow they needed an extra 5mm spacer! Geometry is just weird, I don't think there's any set formula for it. I just need a fresh excuse for why I can't ride like Ben I've always set my bikes up so the bars are as low as possible but I can still bunnyhop it with ease, going higher can pull up easier but then it makes front wheel stuff harder. I've tried almost as many steams as Ali and still never got it quite perfect. But I've seen bikes like these with even higher front ends than me so I can't be the only one. But yeah, proportions wise, Ben's bike looks perfect, the only thing I don't like about 24's is the amount of stackers.
  11. I've got Atomlab Pimplite DH 3" bars, no idea on geo, they seem to be pretty rare, but they're definitely a similar height, not much upsweep either. I can't see the bars being a huge factor. Wouldn't mind trying some Arcade bars anyway. But yeah mine are much closer to Arcade than Trialtechs.
  12. I was 13 when I started, just turned 31, and I'm definitely less flexible than I was ten years ago. I think the main thing for me is I can't afford big injuries like I could ten years ago, I'd ride a 2" wide rail ten feet up back in 2000, these days...not so much.
  13. Yeah I know what you mean, build and style probably play a big part too. But I've tried my stem at every height possible from no spacers up to 45mm and everything in between. But a longer top tube stretches you out, lowering your bars, so I would've thought that'd benefit from raising a bit. My top tube is shorter, same head angle, but I need more height. So I'm more cramped and working harder to get my weight over the front. Plus that front end looks so much better than one that's stacked right up. Life is so unfair.
  14. 120mm, I know the Console one is a little bit longer, but my bb is lower, AND my wb is shorter too, so my front surely shouldn't need to be as high? Same stem, same size bars, same straight up bar angle.
  15. Looks good, I've got the same rims! It makes me sad how you can get away with having your stem down so low, I can't ride my bike unless there's 40 odd mm of stackers. not ideal.
  16. It's just a very awkward, start - stop kind of thing to watch, no one's gonna sit down and watch that enough to care, there's no momentum, it's like chess.
  17. With an 8kg weight limit, pretty much every top of the range off the shelf stock would be banned! I have a feeling you meant minimum weight. If there are weight restrictions then it's even more specialised. I don't think that's the way to go.
  18. Have you ever owned Saints JJ? They're not overkill for everyone, same way 203 rotors aren't. I'm not a huge fan of the weight, but that will always outweigh a broken ankle for me. I wouldn't use Deore cranks long term, they're probably ok, but people go all different levels of big and are all different weights. Yes if you weigh 10 stone and don't go mad then you can use any crank you like the look of.

    Magura MT2s

Even with 203 rotors I found them pretty poor, front is passable but it's just not good enough on the back for trials. Some used hopes would be better.
  20. He deserves it, he makes it look as cool as you can and really puts himself out there, it turns out that Red Bull quite like this. He's well rounded too, I remember that Fourplay vid he made ages ago. Meanwhile, hopping about angrily in tights ain't gonna pay the bills.
  21. He's right. I don't watch comps at all, but I know Kenny's a top rider and ambassador, and even though I'm not a hoppy bike fan, his vids are always great because he makes the effort. All I know about Giacomo is he dresses like an elf in the woods and screams at rocks.
  22. That's a mk5, the 6 was pretty different looking and a little bit ugly. Frame alone should be worth 50+ to the right person.
  23. I reckon the video probably doesn't even do it justice.
  24. The X-tort wins with 445mm chainstays, anti wheelie technology. The middle one's ugly but at least it's got a short back end!
