  1. Few tame first ride pics on the new bike last night. Love it.
  2. Not sure who you're referring to being impatient, but my frame was completed and painted ready for sending with pictures emailed when I paid 3 weeks ago today, the order was actually placed more like 6-7 weks ago, he says it's on the way though. He is notoriously slow at replying, my point is if it was gonna take so long (from payment) I might as well have saved money & bought the slow postage.
  3. Even when you pay for express postage? As the cheap postage he says takes about 4 weeks. Funny enough after 3 weeks of nothing, I got an email about an hour after i posted this lol, saying "it are on it's way" I just haven't got a frame at the mo & I'm dying to ride!
  4. Paid for a frame 3 weeks ago tomorrow (express 1 week shipping) but heard nothing & seen no frame since payment. I know he's genuine & he's been on facebook recently so he's alive, just wondered if anyone else is waiting as well as none of my messages/emails have been answered, I need to ride!
  5. There is no production frame available that will ride like a zebdi/norco etc of 10 years ago, you have to buy a used frame or get a custom one made. 1050 wheelbase today is considered "short"
  6. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=152150&st=0&p=2135617&fromsearch=1&#entry2135617 I'd do you it for around half the price of a brand new 1 All geo/dimensions are in that thread.
  7. God don't ever use an x tort frame, I don't know who designed saracens back then but I'm assuming they've been shot by now.
  8. Mine's pretty solid, it's not light which helps, a light steel frame like a norco will flex alot more.
  9. Exactly, they had canti pads, which defeated much of the object of being a V lol.
  10. I started in '97 with a 16" peugeot energy 600, 2nd chainring on my alivio cranks as bashguard. ART stem, plastic guard behind my cassette, the revolutionary new LX V - style brake!
  11. Unorthodox technique.
  12. Depends how big you go too, if you frequently do 9-10ft drops to concrete then nothing's gonna last. I'm usually about 14.5 stone, which by riders standards is pretty heavy. Over the 13+ years I've been riding I've broken plenty of stuff, but early on alot of it was mtb frames, shimano hubs, azonic single walls, I haven't broke anything major in years. If only the kids of today saw what we had to work with in 1997 lol.
  13. I think it's partly due to us weighing alot more in our mid 20's once the muscle has set in lol, I feel like a slug compared to 5 years ago. Plus most riders nowdays are 9 stone emo kids.
  14. I think I was on bbc news once, I don't like to brag.... It's on youtube in my sig....
  15. The small ones were custom made for Martyn Ashton, you couldn't buy them, we got blue beasts of the east, you won't find a pic of anyone but a Cannondale team rider on a small frame. It's not the same.
  16. Sorry it sold yesterday

  17. Stay compact with 5 arm, the old bigger size is virtually obselete and I'm pretty sure no one makes bash guards for them. I swear by 5 arm, I just think 4 arm looks crap, what was wrong with 5?
  18. Maguras must be 15-20 years old now, proven, few to no problems. I've only ever felt 1 echo brake & it felt like absolute shite, then again it was set up by a teenager If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  19. Blame Northerners, deng, tape measures, wide angle lenses, deng, generic sidehop videos with death metal sound tracks, pink rims, deng, skinny jeans, deng, long frames, deng, I could go on. On the 26" front as bikes got longer the riding got slower and it's now pretty much just extreme pogo stick riding and most of the street, speed, bmx's influence is gone which was all the fun for me. I don't think I could go on a london ride now, comparing it back to 2001-2004, the Jonny Jones videos. I'll always ride how I always have, I ride for fun not spending an evening trying to squeeze 3mm out of a sidehop. Other than marino, there really are no short 26" options left now. On the 20" front, I really couldn't care, it doesn't interest me and the bikes look ridiculous On the 24" front, Danny mac's definitely made a difference, but the fourplay ain't the magic fix for street riding people assume it is, I'd try one if it had a slacker head angle an was shorter, a 26" zebdi is 15mm shorter, I know it's made to do both I just wish it was closer to the old school than it is. Yea I said it.
  20. Doable as she may be, Girls pulling this face makes me want to punch babies. Ha, I have to agree, there's no one I'm more sick of seeing.
  21. I've owned an Ashton & thought it was pretty crap, it's too long/steep head angle for anything remotely proper street, and if you want it for hoppy tappy stuff there's loads of better frames for that.
