    Maldonardo you utter bellend
  2. Bucky, Er, it was fairly old, I'm a complete novice in terms of bmw's was a 99 plate though. A quick Google says it was a e36 8 valve lol. So That might be the case but I'm not sure it was the power (which wasn't as much as I expected) it was just how didn't feel very connected. maybe I set my expectations for my first rear drive (bar work horse vehicles) too high! Jardo, wow. That's pretty brutal. walking away was a gift man!
  3. Jardo I still can't work out which bit of milehouse junction ruined that immaculate gti? But glad you and any passengers walked away!! In other news, drove a friends 318 today (coming from a 1.6 focus or double cab pick ups) never been more dissatisfied with a drive. Good tyres and standard m sport kit. So in theory a good deal but didn't float my boat really. rear drive is the way forward on the track (fast ones anyway) but I didn't really feel anywhere near it's capability which made it fairly safe and consequently dull
  4. Haha awesome. I'll be up that way for the mtb Olympic race. up all the preceding week doing crappy training and getting really bored in a campsite
  5. A dirty soot chucker for Bernard! I hope you keep the V8 for future (ab)use!! how long do you anticipate until he's roadworthy and your legal to cruise around in it?
  6. Jardo, na definitely an Adam, as I said he doesn't work there anymore though but I always see it around marsh mills and embankment/town way. Alex, the cars making phenomenal progress!!
  7. That champs with red recaro's belongs to a former mechanic at vospers called Adam I think. And yes its very nice. Two of my mates have just got intergras and are now hooked, very happy with them!
  8. You've been around a lot of dust and fiberglass? Certain you're not scratched the eyelid or developed a sty etc? Hopeople it'll clear on its own!
  9. I cut my finger last night. Tragic
  10. Depends how close they are to the action! Instrument cluster would prob be alright as I'm guessing its yoke mounted? If you know a welded its definitely worth asking as I'm just guessing, haven't actually done much welding myself just learnt about it nd specify it lol
  11. Depends what type of welding and who's doing it. There's fabricators I know who can weld 1mm wall steel tubes/plate without distortion in funky shapes and ridiculous spaces. I would suggest taking it to a fabricator who does delicate work or a auto restoration place, they are a dab hand at working in confined environments Although id be tempted to say any paint and electrics would need to be tucked away or removed (can also lag them to protect from heat) having said that if its near an exhaust manifold/routing then you're probably fairly safe. low voltage arc with a decent shield from my limited welding knowledge is best in small spaces as there's less stray heat. Best bet as mentioned above, auto restoring place and see what they suggest, most will quote for free/at least discuss it with you and offer advice. But it won't need to be frame only unless they say it needs anealing after. hope that vague answer is of some use Just re-read question. seriously doubt it'd be frame only. I know a few people that would manage that with the engine in place just with the mounts off. if that's the engine mount and the block is to the left, tank off, no problem. at worst its block out. try forteh he's the most wise on bike matters, I dare say he's cracked a few frames!!

It'd have been lethal with the bump/new surface there! Monaco, while a spectacle is a dreary, frustrating race track. well done on red bull thinking outside the box as usual (bastards:-P) that was the only significant places gain outside the standard few lap pit stop shuffle. Webber definitely backed them up though.
  13. Its not gonna touch a proper funny car time also I'd have thought with no aero its gonna be downright dangerous with all that weight out back and relatively little over the front wheels? All said and done its a pretty impressive technical achievement. That beetle in the states as I mentioned before is a much better job though
  14. You just helped advertise it, which was probably his intention for doing it so late! Not quite in the same league as that new beetle that's out there

    Bears

High powered rifle usually works? And as previously mentioned the wolf thing is being done in lots of places (in Germany I think and definitely the states) and they're having trouble controlling how successful they are. in yosemite people are campaigning for a cull already!

No doubt someone (schumacar) will pile into the back of someone (Maldanardo or kovalinen) into the chicane. hope the powerful merc cars show well despite the twisty nature of the track. rosberg and the maclarens need to show more pace then they are currently.
  17. Jardo, I think it's fine having that strong an interest, and you do provide a fountain of knowledge (which sometimes need verifying:-P) it's the condescending comments when people are naive/ill informed. Me? I'm still pissed my laquer is sporadically ruined, but didn't get any info on it and have done no research myself lol
  18. Seem to remember a 1 am minimum, but seeing as I'm up at 6 for work I think I qualify. load of mates just left mine, didn't organise anything but was brilliant how it just happened. good times all round, few Guinness' and a laugh was the therapy I needed!
  19. I'm gonna hazard a guess because you turned a post with no relation to R-Tech into an appraisal of the company? I also have one key, but some days it works from a hundred feet, other days it likes to be inside the car before it'll consider activating the central locking!
  20. Dealing with tree sap that's ruined the laquer? Had a few issues with seeds and little leaves turning little bits of paint a ugly green, its ended up rough and feels like its in the laquer not on the surface. Pretty hacked off as I didn't notice it under the dust and traffic film that built up in the two weeks between washes. Oh and I used a foam cleaner in the seats. diamond job except it wasn't consistent over the seat so it still looks a bit weird.
  21. Any tips on finger strength? My technique and strength is improving faster then my fingers. I'm fairly light but deadhangs still suck. that the best way?

    Running

Plantar somethingorother is a condition of a foot tendon that is susceptible to injury when increasing distance and pace together. I developed it building to half marathon distance and desired pace. similar level of pain and location from what I recall. The runnersworld forum is a good source of info (the us site is bigger) but as jd rightly says r.i.c.e. a frozen bottle of water rolled under the foot helped me loads.
  23. I doubt there are many tankers travelling around with concentrated acids or plutonium on board. Common bulk transport fluids leaves you with only a few options. I know the statement doesn't rule them out and I'm fairly sure there are loads of chemicals out there more harmful, its just the common misconception that petrochemicals are the worst thing for the environment, typically they're actually fairly easy to contain and treat.
  24. Just been for a little session on an indoor wall with my old climbing buddy. Great fun, haven't been this pumped up in ages! we're gonna try get back into it. He has a nearly complete rack if gear, a dynamic rope and is qualified to instruct etc. So any tips on mats/shoes/harness. My 5.10's are too small they kill my feet after 10mins even stood still/sitting but I do like medium aggressivery styles. looking for a large but cheap mat and a middle of the road harness, just bare essentials I don't think I'll be carrying loads of gear or spending an entire day in it. Cheers then frum down ere in Devurn I tried my mates 5.10 Anasazi's on and they felt great but I don't think he'd be happy if I went out and purchased an identical pair!! His were the laced versions but the have a velcro one which I cannot seem to find a decent in depth review of. anyone aware of anything?
  25. Leather flip case with screen protector underneath. The leather flip I use when I'm on the lash or out and about (hiking, riding xc, whatever) at home/work I just have the screen protector and avoid being a clumsy oaf. Silicon cases are wack was a pain to pocket, looked dogshit and made my SII feel terrible to use
