  1. Not entirely true. You just have to visit Stonehenge for the Summer/Winter Solstice with thousands of other people. The last 3 times I have been there for the Summer Solstice I've gone right up to the stones and walked around the middle of them and I didn't have to pay... Either way, like others have said, there is no way you will ever be able to get a bike near the stones
  2. I seem to remember it being 8mm too. Also the left hand pedal (I think, or was it the right? Well one of them!) is opposite thread on the axle nut. I was lucky and have this crap mini tool kit that has a tiny socket set that attach to a screw driver, the socket fitted perfectly through the pedal body, it just required ghetto use of an adjustable spanner to turn the screwdriver with enough torque. If your knob jamming technique doesn't work and you can't find an alternative method let me know and I can post my bodged tool down to you as long as you promise to post it back.
  3. I WANT THAT BIKE! I would probably hang it up on my wall
  4. QR seat post not good enough for you? IMO Unless you are doing a race like the Mega Avalanche there is little point in a dropper seat post. They are just another thing that needs servicing and that could potentially break while out on the trail. The seat post is in direct firing line of all the mud and crap from the back wheel and you just end up with more cables routed to the handlebars. Another cool expensive bit of shiny gear for all the middle aged weekend warriors that have just discovered mountain biking to go out and buy

I have not even seen the trailer yet because I can't watch it at work but know it will be good so just ordered my copy while on Lunch
  11. A Meta 6 with Pikes? Are you planning to fit longer forks?. Chain looks like it could be too short, maybe lower the chain device roller so the chain isn't wrapped around the chain ring so much. There is around 2 links chain growth with rear travel you need to take into account! Is it a 2009 frame? I really hope it doesn't crack! 2009 was a terrible year for Commencal! Sorry to point out some negatives, otherwise it looks tidy
  12. I'm fairly sure that years ago a local rider replaced a damaged steerer on some Fatty forks with a section of seat post...
  13. This image or video has been moved or deleted... No fair
  14. Yes, go and stab him. If you're lucky you will end up in prison and it sounds like she is into that sort of thing...
  15. I expect I will dust the Megamo off and come along to this
  16. Been there done that got the tee... Bad times Currently I am a software tester for a company that develops and supplies a large database to Schools and Education Authorities all over the World. Its boring but the pay is pretty good and I don't have to work weekends so have lots of time to go biking and have fun!
  17. Hit the wall pretty much straight on, its scary as f**k but its the best way to get grip! I would say around 70-80°
  18. I heard that Penhydd was shut due to logging but it doesn't say its shut on the mbwales website so I listed it in my last post anyway...
  19. Afan is awesome fun. There are 2 trail centres, bike hire is available at either. Old Afan Trail Centre Penhydd - 17km - Classic trail, fairly basic but still good fun The Wall - 23km - Dodgy fire road ascent but an amazing descent W2 - 44km - You can start this at either trail centre and use the other as a half way lunch stop, I would personally start at the Old Afan Trail centre and use the newer Glyncorrwg Trail Centre for lunch because it has nicer facilities. W2 is The Wall and Whites Level linked together by use of a fire road. New Glyncorrwg Trail Centre Whites Level - 17km - Tough 6km singletrack uphill at the start with a fun descent and a black section you can session Skyline - 47km - Never ridden this, its meant to have a lot of fire road but the final descent is supposed to be good If you plan to do an all day ride I would highly recommend the W2 trail. For a half day ride any of the trails are good but my favourite is Whites Level.
  20. Anyone got any experience with Solid State Drives? Currently I am using XP Home on a 500gb Samsung SpinPoint Drive. I have been considering upgrading to an Intel X25 40gb SSD and installing Windows 7 64bit onto it then using the 500gb Samsung HDD for media. Worth it?
  21. So you don't have a stumbling block then...
  22. Brainstorm what you actually do at work. When I wrote up my CV I could have easily gone 'Worked in an inbound call centre for 5 years' but I sat down and brainstormed what I did and made it all sound positive.
  23. Yeah that's an interesting watch, I saw it on the Dirt website last night, most of the video is about the crash: http://dirt.mpora.com/news/atherton-project-2010-episode-7.html
