  9. I have a finger question: Recently been going rock climbing more frequently, I don't know when I caused the problem or if it was definitely caused by climbing but for the last month or so I have had an uncomfortable pain in one of my fingers. The pain is at the base of my 'ring finger' on my right hand. I get a stabbing pain when I move my finger into certain positions and its even more uncomfortable if I put the smallest amount of weight on it (hard to explain, but imagine the way you would hang off a door frame using all your fingers, but just use one finger). I have not climbed for a couple of weeks now but my finger doesn't feel like its getting better, also haven't really ridden a bike recently so the finger is only being used for day to day tasks. Anyone got any ideas? If no one can help I'm going to have to search climbing forums more thoroughly...
  10. Weirdly I was just looking through the jobs section in my local paper, saw an advert for a VOSA job in Salisbury and thought the web address might help you: http://www.vosa.gov.uk/careers/
  11. You should be fine running the 6*9's and a set of coaxial's off the head unit. I recommend JBL speakers if your on a budget
  12. Have not done another run yet, that first one killed me! (I have stupidly put my name down to do a 10km charity run in November, I went out for my first practice on Monday and my body hated it!)
  13. Why a Gym? Run, get a road or XC bike, get outside in the fresh air! I also hear that there is a good climbing wall in Bristol...
  14. The guys in this video feature in "Out of Section" which was originally posted here in February The video is still on-line for those of you interested in watching a 36 minute long moto trials street video: http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/fkrisztian This style of riding is a mix of BMX, Trials, freeride, Motocross and general street riding. I think its awesome, just not sure on the legalities or safety of hooning around on a motorbike in busy cities
  15. Well in the US (And most countries other than UK) the brakes are the other way round, I'm sure you already knew this anyway. So if your running a shop in the US and you stock brakes that are bled the UK way, so left lever being rear brake and right lever being front brake, you aren't really going to sell many without the hastle of re-bleeds etc... It also surprises me that 'UrbanLegend' managed to get Hope stuff cheaper in the US compared to the UK!
  16. I recorded the program because I had better things to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon than sit inside watching TV. I too would have liked to have seen a longer section for trials, they may as well have not bothered with any trials at all. However, I thought the rest of the program was great, I even think the commentating was good. They could have done with a few more camera's covering more of the DH course as they did manage to miss a load of the crashes that led to riders missing out on medal positions, however I thought this was a minor complaint considering there was actually 2 hours of Mountain Biking on UK television! You need to remember that trials isn't the only cycling discipline and that trials is no where near as big or well followed as DH 4X or XC. It is a fast growing sport and with television companies putting in effort to produce 2 hours worth of Mountain Bike coverage hopefully next time trials will get a longer section on the program
  17. That would be awesome Steve. Before the end of the summer we could make a weekend of it? Will catch you on MSN Leading still scares the shit out of me, I really do need to have a fall from above the equipment in the safety of an indoor wall. We took a few pictures yesterday so if they are any good I will post them.
  18. I finally climbed on real rock today Went down to Portland and spent the day climbing the many bolted sports routes on offer. My first climb of the day was a basic 4+ lead climb which was fun. I just stuck to top roping the rest of the day though. The highlight of the day was a nice 6a running 30m up an arete with amazing views out to sea! Hopefully heading to the Calshot wall a couple of times this week
  19. Your gonna love Australia Anyway, I was in the same situation as you, going away to Australia so decided to get a credit card. I went with Nationwide after speaking to a mate who uses them. As already said you get no bank charges for the cards use abroad. When I got my card around 4 months ago Nationwide were only offering 3 months interest free, not as long as some people but better than nothing. What I would advise you do is set up a Direct Debit for the minimum monthly payment, this way your not gonna get caught out for any missed payments. Whatever bank you go with make sure you set-up with on-line banking so you can monitor everything while your away, combined with on-line banking from your current account you can easily pay the card off as and when you need to. Be aware it will take a long time for any payments to clear, I had to wait for around 7 days and my credit card was getting declined while I was away. It wasn't a problem as I just used my debit card instead but this cost me a few quid of bank charges. If you have time before you go and can be arsed to mess around opening a different current account, Nationwide offer free use abroad with any debit card transactions as well as cash withdrawals.
  20. Go into a bike shop, try both style of lids, buy the one that is most comfortable. End of discussion.
  21. Well I'm currently enjoying day 2 of recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed. I had liquidised curry for dinner last night, yum. I might have soup for lunch in a bit, I would kill for something solid to eat
