I didn't know Tarty posted anything about it, so maybe I shouldn't have posted here. Anyway it's nice to meet someone who met him. I can only say he must have been a great passionated lad seeing all he dedicated to share his knowledge of this sport.

Awesome. Thanks for this. I miss riding with others so much!

One of my friend tried it in the past. He was really powerful and riding his bike pretty much like a motorbike tapping everything with his front wheel and getting crazy height. It made him better for a while but then he started to struggle with his pedaling and getting acceleration. The hardest part was getting back to a normal 15T but he never looked back. He doesn't ride anymore though as he can't feel his legs anymore due to an accident.

This was tried years ago on the American forum. It didn't work as well as a grind because the edges weren't as rough as what you would get with a grind. It provides excellent hold but not so good bite. EDIT: actually this might be the article from the past

Added a spacer on both sides of the cranks at the pedal thread. Had a ride this morning and everything seems to be perfect now. Thanks everyone.

Yes, it happened mid-February. I kind of felt guilty not knowing about it and thought I might have missed the news here but couldn't find any thread about this so... I read he was ill apparently. It is indeed shocking!

I know this is old news and I haven't seen any other topic about it but I was really shocked this morning when I found out he passed away. He created Trashzen and also wrote a book about trials techniques. He was really passionated and took a lot of his time to try make this sport more easy for beginners. I have used his site a lot when I started and it helped a ton. It's crazy to think this guy is gone. RIP. https://www.napierb2b.com/2021/02/julien-happich/

Thanks for this. I will try to find a washer then!

Ok, so got mine repaired in Decathlon, which is a huge multisport store. Cost me 19 euros and seems they used the pedal inserts Alex Dark talked about. Really pleased with this.
-
How can I get these? Do you have a link maybe? Edit: nevermind, I found it. The biggest trick seems to be finding the left and right taps for the bigger diameter. Found some but they are very very expensive.

Thanks a lot. One of my friend works at Decathlon which is a big sport store. Apparently they can do it for me so I will try it.

Hi, I own a Bonz BB24 crankset and have a dead pedal thread on one side. I don't know how it happened as all parts are fairly new (2 or 3 months old). Anyway, I wanted to get a helicoil repair kit but these things are way pricier than for a HS33 thread repair kit. Do you know of online shops that can do this repair? Maybe Tartybikes? Also are there any other solutions to this problem? Thanks for your time and help!

Love this kind of topic -
Glad you like it and that everything turned out great!

They still want to contact you. If you ever feel the need, just PM me

When did you e-mail serious connection? Please give your email address. I will further your request to them. What they said about your BB issue is that there are multiple other crankset that are compatible. AS30, Clean ones, Tri-Lite's, Likke's, or the Hashtagg one just by adding a 7mm spacer on the right of the spline.

It's for sale now if you want @Herbertlemon102!

What disturbed me the most was that song, as I could only recall it being used in Lakai Fullly Flared skateboard film!

You are all so lucky to have someone to ride with. I have ridden alone for the last 6 years now. And I miss having a friend to ride with...

About 7.9 kilos. Lightest bike I have ever owned

Now you said it, maybe the tapered headset is what makes the bike feel so rigid. I thought about it and maybe I oversold them but the real advantage of these through axle is that the wheel always gets in the same spot when you get it out and in again. That's a huge advantage for disc brakes indeed as the braking surface is always the same that way.

I can honestly say I felt the difference straight away when riding my first Crewkerz bike which was a Cleep 2. Now it's even more obvious with the Ozonys Curve 2020 as it doesn't use the AS30 crankset. So using ISIS, you can feel that the BB is less stiff than with an AS30 and that the wheels are really not a flexing area. Another difference is that the hubs spin way more freely. Hopefully I got the BB24 crankset from Bonz which makes it way better!
