    Idea

Another idea to throw into the hat is some kind of searchable database by rider location. So you could type in say "Brighton" or even a postcode and it would come up with a list of members in that area. If you were visiting somewhere, or had just moved to a new area it would make finding the local riders a lot easier. I dont know if there is enough posting in the rides/location section to warrant sub sections by area. I dont go in there very often but im pretty sure that most rides organised stay on the first page for a week or two ? Thats plenty of time to find an organised ride and being able to see them all on one page makes it all pretty easy to work.
  3. A few years back the Mirror had the Frika faceplant in it (which i filmed). They didnt seek any permission for it, but it didnt help that I released it without copyright or credits on and it had spread all over the internet. (stupid i know but in my rush to get it online i completely forgot )
  4. how many people usually ride Norwich at the weekends, or is it just an occassional thing. I remember a time when there used to be 10-15 riders out Saturday and Sunday every week. Good times.

  6. I know it will vary depending on the car and the insurance company, but roughly how much (if any) can I expect to save starting driving at 22 instead of 17/18. I've heard different things from different people but have been led to believe that It should be cheaper. I just dont know by how much.
  7. So what exactly do you have to do for the pass plus test and how difficult is it? Also, how much does it cost?
  8. Is it worth taking the pass plus (?) test. I dont know much about it other than your instructor takes you on the motorway and it costs about £100 ? Does it lower your insurance premium by anything worthwhile or is it not worth the money?

Its not so bad when you have a beautfiul beach just a few hundred yards away and an awesome bar built onto the appartment block. Go down in the lift, out the door and then 5 yards to the bar. Invested in a duvet, pillow and borrowed a foam matress off the neighbour a few days later. And after a few weeks the living room looked like this...... Only expense were the two camping chairs ($20) all the rest were freebies, including the tv which someone was giving away at a yard sale. A few weeks after that blagged myself two free sofas too

All my possessions at home (where I am now) are packed up in boxes because we were moving houses before I went back to uni. The move fell through and I havent been arsed to unpack stuff since I've been back. All I have is a bed, empty bookcase, draws, and wardrobe My flat in Vancouver was the definition of minimalist though. These $30 speakers perched on top of the box covered up with a plastic bag for added style in the living room (its much bigger out of shot) was all we had in the entire flat. To begin with it was a choice between buying something to sleep on or getting a sound system on the go. Easy choice. A jumper for a pillow and a towel for the duvet was the extent of my bedroom.
  11. you know you're getting old when..... you start going on about finances and UK politics in a thread about christmas A few driving lessons would be nice although not very exciting. Socks and a scarf would also come in handy (I'm getting old too! shit, might as well ask for a packet of werthers originals whilst I'm at it) and half of Tesco's alcohol aisle to liven the (incredibly boring) festive period up. My parents every single year.... "shall we get a board game out ?" No!!!!! just NO!!!!
  12. [attachmentid=8019] Napoleon says..... "Friggin IDIOT!!!"
  13. Yes that's right ignore the reality and make up what you want to believe.
  14. So are you claiming that the influx of immigrants is the reason for the downfall of the British empire? I would have thought that the disasterous impact of two world wars may have had slightly more bareing on the shift in power and 'greatness' as you put it away from Britain. you may as well blame the weather on them too whilst you're at it.
  15. Ever thought of a career as a (fascist) cab driver?
  16. It was the Carling cup not the FA cup. But yes, great result
  17. Check out this hottie that George Seamons was persueing at the SM piss up MK1. Quite something I think you'll agree.
  18. According to CompaniesHouse you need one director and one secretary (and they can't be the same person) and it costs £20 for the registration fee. I would have thought though that you'd only need to setup as a sole trader, presuming it's just a freelance thing you are doing ? Don't think there is much to that, you'll just need to register as self employed with the inland revenue, and register the company name if you're going to have one. this seems quite useful .... http://www.smallbusiness.co.uk/features/22...le-trader.thtml
  19. Before clicking on that link I thought you were about to bring shame on me as a mod by pointing out that a similar thread had been made recently
  20. Just wondering from which sources people found out about this place ? MBUK ? a friend ? a search engine ? you get the picture. Thought it would be more interesting to post this in new members to see where the latest members are being directed from. Personally I cant even remember it was so long ago, but I'm pretty sure I stumbled across it having gone from site to site, via the links page (back in the days when forums werent so big and loads of people ran their own personal Trials websites. When the Internet was in black and white)
  21. New Members chat is meant to be kept to Trials chat only actually. But because mods don't have an endless amount of time and that time is usually spent more on dealing with the main boards, non Trials related posts in here wont always be picked up on. I guess it depends upon the moderator. I wont usually bother closing non Trials related threads in here, but when they contribute very little/ no value to the place then they'll get closed just like this one
  22. Hmmm wonder how long the NHS would last under that regime. Please, It's bad enough as it is without BNP styled ideas like that. Also, the terrorists that blew up the tubes/ buses were all born in Britain were they not ? So using the idea above wouldnt work too well. Does that mean their parents or grandparents who originally emigrated to the UK would get chucked out but their kids get to stay here? or do you suggest uprooting entire generations? What about Aussies, Americans, Irish etc? do we let them stay? the idea of booting out the Jonny Foreigners isn't such a simple one is it.
