  1. If I were you I'd probably go for the Onza Comp 2009 from tartybikes. Had a look at the Yaabaa an the 2010 Onza Pro and reckon you'd be better with last years comp, could just be down to personal preference but I think that gives you the best opportunity for upgrading various bits over the other 2 whilst retaining a good standard of parts to start with. All depends if you can stretch the budget to cover though! Onza Comp 2009

    New Camera

I'd recommend a Panasonic Lumix, even the 3 year old one I've got is still quality!
  3. Ordered rest of the bits for it the other night so they should all be here next week and sent an email about gettin some stickers made up for it so that'll be built by next weekend (hopefully!!) Can see tonight dragging like mad at work now, either that or me not being able to get hold of some spacers tomorrow, summats bound to go wrong!
  4. Finally after a long wait and a lot of ball ache got my Zenith frame back from the powder coaters today. Spoke to the boss when I picked it up who knocked a bit off the price for all the hassle I've been caused which is nice so I'll be putting it all together tomorrow, was gonna sort it tonight but I'm on nights and need to pick up some headset spacers and hose clips. Thought I'd stick a few pics up of the frame in her new colour and will get some fully built pics up tomorrow! The colour is sapphire blue and I love it, nice and dark and will be gutted when I get the first scuff on! Colour doesn't show up very well as it's going dark out now but will hopefully show better tomorrow when its built!
  5. Sounds quality, just hope he had time to do me a bash an a booster. Would look awesome!!
  6. I look forward to seeing the pics, is it fully built up yet? Heard it was a bit of a last minute thing as the cnc machine spat its dummy out!
  7. Taxi for club_card!
  8. I disagree, if you argue with them they're just going to be worse with you. If you just politely accept to move on you'll get less hassle from them. I don't know what the police are like in your country but it's worth trying to get to know your locals and talk to them so they know that your not a vandal or someone trying to cause trouble, this way they may tell you where you can ride where you won't be bothered and even turn a blind eye to you riding sometimes!
  9. 18t is how many teeth the freewheel has, its easy to remove but you might need a freewheel tool to do the job and they're available here. If you ring tartys to order one they can give you advice on how to remove it or watch their video guide which is very good here. If you're unsure about a few things its worth watching all their video guides just as a bit of a heads up! Hope this helps!!
  10. When I built up my heavy tools there was a bit of metal in the middle of the BB shell stopping me fitting the BB so I just filed it down and has been fine ever since, could just be something like that.
  11. Given you a vote mehewd for a quality bit of banter!!

  12. Ah you got me, although the original post your quoting was sarcasm!
  13. Any luck with the boosters?

  14. A bit off topic but your sig is a fail of EPIC PROPORTION!!
  15. Kinell, will be checking mine out when I get home just in case now!
  16. Exactly, if my bike ever gets nicked I'll kick my shed door in and claim on the home and contents!
  17. I think you'd probably get away with it yeah if the repair is done by an experienced welder.
  18. Just had a quick google search and a policy to cover a bike valued at £500 including competative use with like for like replacement of parts under a year old (they knock 10% off for each additional year), £1 million public liability insurance (in case you accidentaly hurt a 3rd party or damage someones property and they decide to take you to court), and a payout if you die or lose a limb is £70 a year for my postcode. Bearing in mind the theft cover only applies if your bike is locked through the frame to an immoveable object using an approved lock. It was £57 a year without the competing element and £40 without the competing or public liability! Hope this helps!
  19. I've never considered it as I just wouldn't leave it outside a shop or somewhere unless it was well chained up and I knew the area, I'm lucky though as where I live is only a small town so not much crime like that but I still wouldnt trust anyone!
  20. Welcome to yet another rider of the (nearly) oldskool!! I've just jumped back in after 10 years out and I'm loving it. Took me a good few weeks reading different posts and websites before I could get my head round all the new brands available and the ones which seem to have all but disappeared. Not really the best person to advise on bars, stems, etc as I'm still using my old Azonic world force risers and Specialized stem at the mo but I will highly recommend a step to running single speed and a FFW, easily the best choice I made when it came to rebuilding my bike with a front disc as a close 2nd!
  21. 9 gears??!! Shimano had only just got there heads round 8 speed cassettes when I was riding! Came across these earlier in my dads garage whilst looking for my old Blue Mountain Magura's to steal the koolstop pads out of! My first bash made by cutting the teeth off a middle chainring to go on my Shimano Altus C10 crankset and 2 that my dads mate machined for me out of stainless to go on my 4 arm STX-RC cranks as you couldn't even buy 5 arm bashrings at the time. Had one to run smallest chainring and one to run middle as well in the style of Mr Hans "No Way" Rey!
  22. I spotted that as well! Still can't figure out what "worend" is supposed to mean though!
  23. Kinnel, at that price you'd be better off buyin a new set of Trialtech cranks!
