Had these bikes over the past couple years, foun the Giant at a bootfair for £60 and thought why not. I used to ride all through my teens but stopped about 7/8 years ago.
I got quite ill Aug 10, I wanted to get right back into my riding when I was fit, had 6 months stuck at home and fancied trying natural instead of street like I used to ride.
So sat on ebay and the forum and put together this
Koxx Levelboss 1065
Saracen MAD forks resprayed black
Zoo bars
Viz Stem
Avid BB7 with XT lever
HS33 with GU 4 bolt and Heatsink whites
Front wheel Sun ditch witch Deore hub
Rear Wheel DMR Revolver on Try-all 47mm Rim (ground)
Kenda 2.6 Rear Tyre
Maxxis something front Tyre
Tensile Cranks
Onza splined BB
96 Click Freewheel
Enjoyed the natural but really missed street and got ill again so another 5 months at home saw me sitting on the web and so I started again. Managed to swap most of the Koxx for this which came as standard minus the front brake so I switched it up and added a rear Hope Pro 2 SS/T on a rhyno lite, Viz stem and 720 bars, XTR levers, BB7 and Avid Rival with Inspired pads. Feels pretty good, haven't ridden properly, the forks seem to be quite flexy but feels like I'll like it. Just need some time to get down the skatepark!
Hope that was vaguely interesting. The cool thing is I haven't spent much more than what returned from the sale of different bits, bought the giant and sold the frame for what the koxx cost, the green mags for what the black hs33 and BB7 cost and some other spares I had and I just sold bits and used the money to replace them, which proves how good the forum is for building a decent spec bike up
i just couldn't get on with the ashton, was to short and it didn't feel comfortable on the back wheel for me so went back to a more pure bike. 09 echo control, ashton forks, Tryall h wheelset, Chris king No threadset headset, 2011 hs11's, echo tr cranks, trialtech ti halfring? Viz 720 bar and stem!
Now on to an Atomz Premier 26 as the echo cracked on the chainstays, geo appears to be the same on listings i'v found so hopefully will ride as nice! first ride this afternoon, think i'll want a longer, high rise stem though!
