  1. oh got you! Thought you meant the inner part of the cable!
  2. you lost me? Perpendicular to what sides? Do linear cables offer a smoother lighter pull?
  3. what's the idea behind grinding the ends? Sorry to hijack the thread!
  4. are linear cables much better than standard cables? What's the actual difference in them to standard?
  5. Just proves the concept of sponsorship works. I bet, like everyone else at the time you thought it was awesome because ryan leech rode one? We all did it.... Can't say i thought the giant was that great either though, had one a couple of years ago and it wasn't all that, nice spec though!
  6. good vid, amazing "he'll be fine, oh.....no he's not" stack at the start!
  7. Kmc chain Firstly, is the chain on the right way up? Secondly is there a method to remove the quick link or is it just ping it off any old way? Avid rival brake Is it a big deal that the back of the arms aren't mounting to the base of the boss? The return spring reaches through the boss hole easily but the back of the arm sits off by 1 or 2mm. They are on an ashton effect which i know have thick paint but shouln't be on the bosses?
  8. Nice one, cheers. What sort of length rear cable is he running to enable it to wrap round? Thanks
  9. those pedals were bloody lethal!
  10. yer and doing it on your fsa powerpros that you could get a deal with a bashring from the place that sold cannondale fattys, pashley forks and a couple other bits. Think the shop was called autovogue and was always advertised in the back of mbUK. Even that's not the same now.
  11. i doubt your alone on that one. Being a teenager seemed pretty complex at times but my god, that was a lot easier than being a grown up with responsibilities to other people and not just yourself. Days on the seafront. Filling the guards carriage full of bikes on the train. Actually riding for a whole day then going out again after dinner. If your reading this and still at school, lap it up!
  12. That looks like a lot of fun! Spec?
  13. I've got bi king. Would have no idea how to upload it though. It's got t and s's on it to!
  14. Chris leeson was running them at bike 01. How if gripped the deck enough to get up anything is beyond me. They barely worked on clean dry paving! In theory they should have been good. Huge profile, aggressive open tread. Compound was just to hard?
  15. http://www.biketrials.com/bikes/index.shtml If this vid isn't making sense maybe a bit of history might help? Link to bikes that came just after chainspotting, check out the evolve topic as well to see what was happening across the pond about the same time. Late 90's was all about biketrials.com I spent many a lesson wasting time uploading videos that lasted seconds from there. If your new school educate yourself and just look around the site! Link to the vids I mentioned above! http://www.biketrials.com/video/index.shtml
  16. Watched evolve this morning and thibault was in it. Remember seeing him at bike 01 i think it was and couldn't believe how smooth he was and instantly wanting the frame he was riding as it just looked like it "made sense". http://www.biketrials.com/events/Bike2001/Diamondback.shtml If anyone knows where I can find any films/footage with him in I'd be grateful! Cheers
  17. Might be a daft and obvious question but I'm finally finishing off my new 24 the next week or so as I'm well enough to ride again. The question is do cable discs still retain a nice feel if run through the steerer? With hydros it doesn't matter I know but I know the routing on cables effects the feel. I just can't be bothered to set it up then find out on my first ride in 6 months it's shite! Thanks
  18. ah man, never got to play that one! First was good so gutted I can't get this! I'll look forward to the new one! Thanks mate
  19. all the links no longer work!?!? Anywhere else I can still get this? Thanks
