  1. yeah sounds like every other King I've heard
  2. I don't mind the crowns, it keeps the retro look but they look so thin in one of those close-ups, which wouldn't be so bad if the tubing was the stronger cylinder shape, but it's made weaker by the way in which square tubing has been used.
  3. Bell factions are good on a budget, then theres the more specialist koxx / try-all ones. Protec classics are very good, Giro make a pisspot that feels comfy and is quite light as well. If i was buying new now I'd blow a hole in my bank account with a POC.
  4. that looked fun... does anybody know what that dubstepy type song is called; the whole stalker themed tune?
  5. Saw some guys in Dover when I was about 11 kicking up little rocks and watched them for pretty much a whole day. Never thought anything of it unill about 3 years later when I saw an Animal-Martyn Ashon show and decided I'd like to give it a go. About 2 months later i spotted a guy in the year above me at school riding a (well spec'd) Phase 1.1, instantly recognised the style of riding he was doing (showing off backhops at the bike sheds. I became mates with him and he changed to riding a Limey2, he already had another mate who rode on a Phase 1.3 (he was uber shit). I had stopped riding BMX and moved on to riding XC and DJ with him, eventually he enjoyed it more and the Onza was left sitting; then his mate stopped riding trials and so he wanted to sell the Onza, we joked that I was going to buy it (I had about £200 and his bike was maily all Hope bits) but after my birthday and xmas I had £400 and for some reason I managed to buy the best mates-rates deal in the world. i was stoked and wanted to try this techy riding, 3 days later I had snapped it. One day he showed me this new Danny Macaskill bloke and I realised I really didn't want my Onza anymore. Made the switch to a 2009 Fourplay, rode street with him, he eventually decided he wanted a street trials bike as well and ended up with an Urban. We pushed each other, met new people and realised that we no longer fitted in with 'normal' people due to the fact we tend to shout stuff like "I have just seen the sickest/dopest/craziest/smoothest looking line even if we are just walking around. And that's where I am today. I was only expecting to write a para
  6. yeah suspension on propper trials is a big no no because of the weight. As for street riding of any sort rigids are generally perfered because it is simply not neccissary.
  7. Saw a girl riding around one of those old blue T-Pro's around town- using it like a normal bike, obviously her brother's or dad's ages ago and now she thinks it's just a normal bike. And urm yeah but it could be worse previously spotted rip off
  8. Hellaflush R/C fitment, home made camber washers, cut springs and filed body mounts front view side on. rear with tail lights (and exhast was on in this pic I think) I have the blue underfloor lights disconneted because they look sh*t and waste battery. The wheels are official R/C reps (by Enkei I think) as for the rest, narrowed axles (for fitment), RWD conversion, homemade front axle instead of front diff, 2P peices attached to the front inside body shell for more front end grip, home made lowering kit (chassis and shell) and new arial. Not bad for £2.50 from Toys 'R' Us Shanghai and some spares I had at home!
  9. And thats how I cracked my head open
  10. bought a Toyota Corrola AE86 shelled drifter in Shanghai (as you do) for a whole £2.50, its now lowered, stickered and most of the internals and wheels are replaced with X-Mod parts. Its pretty sick and has working headlamps and brakelights, even holds drifts both of the long and short variety. Best investment I've ever made; I'll try and get some pics up soon.
  11. If you prefer proper trials bikes thaen go for it i would also say that the Echo 24" sounds best suited for you from what you have said; you can always mix it up a little and do streety stuff as well. If you are heavy as a rider you WILL break stuff, it's just an unfortunate fact of life, yes street bikes will generally wiegh a bit more but make up for it in strength, but generally you should be okay, trials bikes are pretty tough and can take the stress and forces of riding without breaking constantly, I think you are probably worrying over nothing. Bunny hops and things don't feel as nice on propper trials bikes but are possible, most moves in the videos you seem to like (Belaney,Neil e.c.t) are based more around pedal kicks and you will most probably prefer the feel and settle into this style of riding quite quickly on a propper trialsy bike. As for Mr Leech, he like Hans Rey and Akrigg is bound to a sponsership deal which means he is forced by the manufacturer to ride their bikes in his videos; it just so happens that they do not make trials frames or use trials parts (forks e.c.t) so he is pretty much forced into and/or stuck riding that set-up, he would probably prefer differnt geometry and rigid forks for that particular area and style of riding but has no real choice.
  12. tried to sidehop a pretty high but narrow (small) fight of stairs on my in Inspired once (if you get what i mean), chain snapped, i tried to bail but landed with my feet off the pedals and my balls on the seat after travelling about 3ft out and 4.5ft down. not good!
  13. or even the media section, in the video sub category
  14. you can use mineral oil as said above, this, water (obviously), water and some anti-freeze, and your not meant to use olive/cooking oil but can if you really need to.
  15. Got this from a local Hitler security gaurd: him: if you don't move on i'll get the police around your house. I'll make sure it's P.C Miller as well he hates anti-social youths on bikes. Me: well I hope he doesn't let his personal feelings get in the way of his profession. Him: We'll if your still here in five minutes you'll be in trouble. We left 45min later
  16. more power will be be produced, but less 'control' or modulation as such.
  17. My mate managed to convince a BMX kid at the local 'park that he was Dannny Macaskill once!
  18. if they're stupid enough to ask it they'd be stupid enough to do it, so through stupid logic....
  19. i run hydro's and agree they are superior; but on paper, or in a lab, vee brakes can produce more power, this is what i was trying to explain, so hey ho i've made my point now and i'll leave you guys to say whatever you want about how I'm wrong/missing the point e.c.t the fact is I answered the question that was asked in a way I believe is correct which is, after all, the whole point in this forum.
  20. ARRRRGGGGGG!!! Screw this for fun I'm gonna go cry. Captain Pedantic!
  21. Grammar Nazi! The irony is i made a typo trying to write grammar at first :$
