Never Attempted Trials.
onza pro series guy replied to Trials Scott's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Easiest solution is don't buy new, it's a lot cheaper and you won't be scared of dinging a shiny new bike learning things. Look on the classified thread or section on here and you'll get much better value for money and might find something you like the look of more hope I helped Dave -
Very true, but surely this sort of little embarrisment could have been avoided sooo easily. Just seems a little bit pointless to me to broadcast something that might not be 100% accurate or is prone to inaccuracy very easily like you could get'100 different weights if you used a 100 different scales' and not every frame can be perfectly identical - a little bit more weld or small edges of metal at joins, even small fragments of metal left in tubes from production could and wold add up on each frame and blow that fairly precise number out of the water so to speak.

I saw this on tarty first and if you look in their spec it seems they've made a bit of a hiccup: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_frames/onza_limey_4/c14p11701.html I see nothing wrong with writting the weight on a frame personally, but it should probably be accurate if it's being broadcasted like that

Sorry if I'm thread clogging but it might be worth putting an add on Gumtree, being locally sorted, as if you want one eg wanted: trials bike like this. Just a thought, it worked for Duncan Shaw?! Hope it works out for you, every riders worse nightmare

Does Anyone Run Two Rear Cogs, Will It Work?
onza pro series guy replied to Matt24.'s topic in Trials Chat
I used to ride a 6 speed Onza Limey with a shimano derailer, this set up worked fairly well, there were a few hiccups but it might be worth considering? -

The Zen Of Balance, State Of Mind
onza pro series guy replied to ooo's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I ride and balance just as well if not better with headphones in, I find balance is more involuntary or physical than mental -
I'm gonna have to say it ... WEAR A HELMET!

Simply amazing, please produce it I want one so badly the idea of simply changing downtubes and brake mounts is unreal. If this goes into production at a fairly reasonable price count me in
-
I believe they are the same, just the rotor is different; I could be wrong though. Generally all Hope brake systems are good anyway, i found the 6-pots my mate used to run on his down hill bike were excellent, and the same when i had a play with Tech's
-
Yes Mono Trials are stupidly good brakes, I used to run two 160mm rotors on my old Onza Limey stock, it felt just like a big mod and i found I had control and power no probs, I still run one (still 160mm) on my Inspired 24" and have no problems; personally I prefer them to any rim brake, untill I bend rotors

Lighter Setup Than Middleburns, without Going Ffw
onza pro series guy replied to trialsnoobie's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Yeah the cranks themselves are the lightest around but the standard bash is pretty wieghty when compared to the TNN Super Comp Middleburn bash+sproket combo. They are super light but mate mate's lost two teeth and the lockring keept coming loose due to it's thin-ness. he know runs the Middleburn Supper Pro bashring+sproket combo and told me he'd recomend it the other day after he chipped a concrete block with it, just scuffing it! -
yeah use mineral oil I like the idea of a warrenty thats all

Another Question About Rear Wheel Hops
onza pro series guy replied to ooo's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
try kind of scooping the back wheel with the pedals more on your upsweep -
If you really want one why don't you just get it from Tarty? http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=11569&keywords=MilkyWay+Gummy+Bashring

And the rim isn't disc specific, but if its a trials specific rim you should be fine

I know we have addressed that a phone is for ... urm ... phoning but a moblie version of the Tarty website would be uber handy for me, the huge loading time and sometimes inablilty to view images easily or clearly, or even at all does get annoying.
