  1. he rode how far without the ability to change a tube?! how did he get anywhere!!! But seriously seems like the guy has mad skills for his age, good on him!
  2. Thanks for that Mark, shows how long I've been out of the 'propper' trials game I assumed they were still used and acceptable if you were a compy kinda person.
  3. yeah but I already have some flats in the shed and I do have platforms I ment caged (d'oh) which I also have.
  4. probably would work to be honest it just wouldnt be great. John Shrewsburry rode his Hex and the British Champs last year and didnt do too bad i dont think. Me and a few mates thought that it would be fun to enter a comp with our street bikes and i was planning on changing the bars to flats and switching to platform pedals and some knobbly tires.
  5. My mum is a head of english at a secondary school and her degree is in primary school teaching, she did english and history as her main subjects. So yeah it's worth looking into just what jobs you can get in the education sector with what qualifications. Simillarly my old Geography teacher was a PE teacher in qualification and the same for my old ICT teacher.
  6. If I ride with gloves it's too hot and without it's so dry my hands bleed. What's with this Britain I thought we were cool?

  7. how many spokes does your wheel have and does it have a front freewheel already?
  8. I'm at 6th form as well just got one more AS level exam to do and then I'm done for this year. Hopefully I will get the grades I need to get back in where I am next year, but I am pretty shit at being intelligent. The plan is to get in next year; keep English Lit, ICT and RE and drop history like its hot. Then hopefully off to Uni I wanna go Shefield ideally but probably end up somewhere less... well, good I 'spose and more local. I'm planning on doing either a Journalism course or an English Lit. course that will be less specialist but get me into journalism as well as other carrer paths if need be. Then hopefully off to the working world, probably end up as the coffee boy for a few years, but eventually I will hopefully be able to earn my crust writing about cars and/or bikes with no or very small seats. That's the plan at least, if I don't get back into 6th form next year I have no idea what I'll do; probably go to college two days a week and pull cars apart or something.
  9. there are just so many on my Facebook, it seems to be all I do: and my personal favorite: sorry did downsize these but it was really gay and blew them back up for some reason :@
  10. i assume he was implying that people on here could be percived to be dickheads. But one can only assume old sport, one can only assume.
  11. ahhh I wanna go so bad, might just go bother my mum untill she agrees to make me some!
  12. I used to do parkour before I took up trials too urm I would recomend ignoring your friends suggestions to get a DJ bike, its a completely different thing and it will cost you more to buy than a cheepo trials bike while hindering your progression in trials. My first bike was an Onza and I found it very good. Ebay tends to be more expensive than other specilaised websites as people on there often do not know what they're selling and what the value of trials stuff actually is. I would recomend using http://www.pinkbike.com/ if its a cheep bike your looking for as there is normally a good selection of begginer bikes up there, if not check the for sale section and the classifieds on here. Seeing as your looking for something probably quite streety it would be an idea to look for 24" or 26" bikes in the future, depending on your preferance and how your riding style develops as well as how thick your wallet is, but for now it will be entirely possible for you to learn the basics on a bike of any size. Also in trials the size of the wheels doesn't neccisarily correspond with the size of the rider as it is easy to alter the way a bike feels by changing the geometry of stuff like the stem. Hope this helps.
  13. want! are you willing to post?
  14. ahh an x-tort, the first time I ever saw anyone ride trials, and the first time i ever heard of it was someone riding street on a silver one of those in Dover. Thats how I got sucked in.
  15. yeah i get it quite often, mostly on my phone but on the compooper too
  16. I'm in, tomorrow sir when the local shop is open I shall take up your challenge.
  17. just to confirm are you interested in trials or trails? If its trails you are in the wrong place i'm afraid. There's a thread at the top of this section which will help and guide you when it comes to choosing bikes
  18. this. seems a bit dodge to me that the currency is canadian, the location is apparently in America and the bike will be shipped from either of two locations in Asia?! I know deng is chinease and all that but it seems a bit suspicious to me personally.
  19. the first one of these got me:
  20. is that a brookes saddle?
