  1. the brakes work brilliantly as to how they feel, but it all depends on what pads you buy. I think rockman greens are the best ive used on a smooth rim, but your best off getting a grind and having some tnns a medium grind will also allow your brake to work in the wet, and for this id again recommend tnn lgms. Water and a smooth rim is never going to work
  2. Need the snow to go, bikes been sat in the garage for 2 weeks now :/

  3. if you could find four washers with an inner diameter of the axle and an outer diameter larger than the tug. Tug on, two washers on, bolt. Same for opposite side. As for the tugs bending, leave the wheel loose, allign wheel with tug bolts, tighten wheel. Give each tug bolt a little nip, just under a quarter of a turn. has always worked for me EDIT: Snail Cams for the win really
  4. grind your rim, keep TNNS, awesome brake, win
  5. Well guys ut looks like I'l be buying an Echo SL once i have the money! Strangely enough I've worked out that after buying all my other parts that I need, I'd be 60 quid short anyways, the price of the SL! My Tensile 60 will be good enough for now, just to keep me going. By the way, to sav opening another thread; What are peoples opinions on Trialtech Isis 170mm cranks? These are the cranks I may be getting. Will go for Echo TRs if these are crap but I want as little Echo parts as possible! Much love for Trialtech
  6. id run freewheel all the time. I used to run a profile hub on my neon and then on my zoo. I moved to freewheel a year ago and love it. Best change id made to my bike. Worked out cheaper too. Im defo running one when i go to stock too.
  7. ive found my trusty tensile 60 haha. Its never let me down over about 2 years and is still sweet, so il be using that until i can afford a decent freewheel
  8. right, its down to either the Echo SL or the Trialtech now. Echo sl will only be bought if money is available, so is the trialtech worth the money? did he give the freewheel enough time to bed in? I open mine up and flush them out with a light oil and close em again to remove any grease
  9. i should hopefully start ridin in the new season I love riding natural, but dont see why to ride super light, weak bikes. I ride on my zoo python using lighter parts and rides amazing while being tough enough to take tgs and a good bashing, but rides brilliant on comp lines.. So much so my mates built one to the same spec, selling his hydroxx to fund it and should be riding next year on one in comps. As will I
  10. looks pretty sweet! Instead of reach adjuster you now have a tpa
  11. Right, Tonight my cranks and Bottom bracket died on me (should have upgraded to isis sooner) and am now looking at new cranks, bottom bracket and freewheels. I've made up my mind on cranks and BB, but cant choose which freewheel to get. I would buy the Echo SL but wont be able to afford one due to amount of cash available. So it's down to three options; Trialtech Sport 108 v!z 75 click. Tensile 96 click Would like your opinions on these three as need to buy over xmas, Cheers
  12. looks pretty sweet! Instead of reach adjuster you now have a tpa
  13. woops! Im on my phone and it jumps to most recent post. Should have read up cant see which video it was as my phone wont let me play it
  14. if your mounts arent square then you can file them flat. Im sure theres a tnn guide on this on youtube. Ive recently done this as im due to get some tnn clamps which are washerless. The mounts are now perfectly square. Braking has improved with this even with my atomz clamps.
  15. +1 Hold something like a credit card against your rim and push the slave in so the pad is flat agianst the card. Nip up your clamps, pull out the card, you have a squarely, sharp brake with maximum pad contact. Works a treat every time for me.
  16. Im getting quite alot Echo Urban 09 fork TNN Engineering LGM AND Belaey pads (Joys of double magura ) TrialTech Sport bars v!z 2011 stem TrialTech foamies Front and rear TR levers Trialtech sport cranks, echo TR bb Echo SL 108 ff Echo 7075 bashring Kenda Small block 8 Maxxis Creepy Crawler 19" And a Echo Lite 2011 when they come out as a late present EDIT: I'm paying half for all this and half again for the Echo Lite 2011 frame Should be good!
  17. 2 bolt echo SL Or Echo Urban 4 bolt booster Edit: Just re-read the topic title, echo urban 4 bolt is the way to go
  18. Im in Havent ridden Leeds yet so should be good fun Im part of the BARTON group that Andeee mentioned that might ride so will be getting in touch with the other lads.
  19. Thanks Ali, If i get another 05+ magura body I'l make sure I file away the sharp edge, but it looks like I'm getting an SL for Christmas Cheers Guys
  20. If weights no problem then a Gusset tank chain is my choice of chain, Run it for about half a year, looks beast, very strong, and never had an issue withy it. Always keep you chain lubed up and you should have no problem
  21. So theres no leaking issues then? If anyone uses the Echo Slaves are they any good?
  22. Hi all, To get to the point I'm fed up of buying new lever bodys for my Hs33 and have been looking at the Echo SL as a replacement after my last maggie breakage. Its not the performance I'm after but the CNC construction is definatley appealing, (I ride TGS and I bail frequently) I love how they look and think I would benefit form its overall stronger construction. Does anyone know of any flaws in this brake The 2010 model Thanks
  23. This sounds stupid but i wanted to find out myself. I left my bike outside, water bleed unfrozen, left it for an hour and came back to it. All that had happened is the pads had been pushed out due to the expansion that happens when water freezes and the wheel wouldn't move (due to pads touching the rim). Brought it inside, let it thaw out and theres nothing wrong with the brake at all. Pads returned to normal and brake felt the same and then re-bled with water and anti-freeze. I'd say to save yourself the hassle, re-bleed your brake with a 50:50 mix of water and Anti-Freeze and your onto a win
