  1. I realise this isn't the place but are these back in stock on Tartybikes? It seems you can order them but the 'Due back in stock in August' box is still up. I would have asked a question on the site but its broken due to these crappy work computers that run IE7... Edit: Obviously can't really phone cause I'm at work...
  2. What is your budget? I was going to suggest a Five, I love mine, but it can be a bit Marmite so I would suggest test riding a few different frames at a local trail centre if you can. You can stick on some 160mm travel forks and it will make it down Fort William and it doesn't get much tougher than that in the UK! Plus they are Enduro machines!
  3. Cheeky post - any one interested in a Canon 50D + EF-S 18-200mm IS kit lens? I was thinking £600 ono (including postage) going by recent eBay listings. Great condition with 10,275 on the shutter count, should be good for at least 100k shutters. I'll be putting it on eBay this coming week. If anyone was wondering, selling after upgrading to a 7D for some HD video goodness!
  4. Edinburgh is quite popular for Stag/Hen Nights so there must be something good. When is the Stag Do meant to take place?
  5. Watched that unfold live, reinforces my opinion that he is a great guy! Sure he might be a bit arrogant, but you can't really blame him, he is the fastest man alive. A documentary is due to come out after the Olympics all about Bolt, if you watch some of the clips you'll see his other sides.
  6. I believe that Sean Watson handmade his helmet. Out of fibreglass, or something. Maybe check Clean cause I'm sure Mark got some pictures/quote when he came to the UK. +10 I wear a helmet cause I feel funny if I don't wear one, that's how I was raised!
  7. Look at those tyres! I guess your a dry day specialist then, you couldn't get away with them in Scotland! . Y NO +999999999 BB!!?!?!!1111??////
  8. 24 The Wire - stick with it Sopranos - why has no one mentioned it so far!?!? Community - good comedy
  9. Hey, I know that, rightly so, you have chosen to auto-change capitalisations in topic titles to avoid 'PLEASE HELP ME I'M A NOOB!?!!??!?!?' titles, but can some exceptions be added? eg. II TPA FFW MTB BMX QR BB SL TR etc... I'm sure there are lots I've missed so maybe people can post other abbreviations below.
  10. If you are just switching your rotor your pads will be fine. Just get some meths as Matt suggested and it should be fine!
  11. Buying second hand off here would be a good start - there's no point in buying new if you are unsure especially as trials bikes lose about 40% value straight away. Have a look at the 'For Sale' section and see what takes your fancy. Have you thought about 26"? If you are riding mountain bikes getting a trials bike with the same wheel size might help, but as you might have seen people are usually able to progress 'quicker' on a smaller, lighter 20". On mountain bikes the freewheel is usually built into the rear hub, whereas in competition trials (20" and 26" - general sweeping statement I know) the freewheel is moved to the BB, it usually screws onto the left crank, to help centralise the weight on the bike creating a front freewheel, or FFW. The more engagements the better! As for buying a bike, you are right in saying that getting a better frame and upgrading parts is a better way of doing it. I'd suggest looking at Echo or Onza but there are lots of brands. The geometry of the frame will effect your riding, so hopefully someone more clued up about that will be along shortly
  12. You might want to clean your pads at the same time as they could be contaminated as well.
  13. Holy Shit, think I just wet myself, I can't wait...
  14. I ride most days for about an hour, a LOT longer at the weekends, and wear them all day every day. I wear Freeriders bought them 10 months ago and still going strong, as are the Freeriders my friend wears. I suggest that you are doing it wrong...
  15. Another one on the 'bay, sold, but I suspect it's not the one you are looking for...
  16. Is this the one you saw? Good spot but wrong colour and, if ebay is correct, the seller is on the South coast of England.
  17. A picture would help, but I'll keep an eye out about town. No doubt it's ended up in one of the rougher areas, never to be seen again... Where about was it stolen?
  18. Five-tens all the way. Unlike other shoes their sole doesn't wear out after a month or two
  19. Just received this in my email spam box...looks like were f**ked From Anonymous apparently...
  20. OT, but did he say how it happened? I've just assumed that they are indestructible, espically as they are stronger than Fourplays and my one shows no sign of weakness!

    Gunther

If I had the money to do this I wouldn't go online ever again! He started his journey in 1989, before the internet was the internet, in fact his story only really came to light after a photographer, David Lemke, met Gunther in Vietnam. But good on the man and his wife, who sadly died a few years ago.
  22. JD in not reading thread shocker! In answer to the post, just drill a hole in the protector, if you are really worried about it fraying get some epoxy resin, or something similar, and seal around the hole before you mount it on your frame.
  23. Is this a very clever bot? Because that last post is similar to other bot posts with the 'http:// www .keyforex .info/g.gif' and the profile doesn't exist... Edit: Seems his profile name has been changed, my bad! But the offending post has been removed...
  24. I think I've got a single TT grip hanging about the spares box, although that's not much use is it.... I'm after some too as the Inspired Lock-Ons are killing my hands as the rubber has nearly worn out, so if you find any post a link please! Mark, any idea on rough delivery date? Start/Mid/End August? I could probably wait a week or two - not much longer...
