Stan! Since you elevated your riding style to hovering (I've seen your vid), you could easily build sub 8 kgs without any risk. And damn, I didn't know about the forum weight loss tradition. I could have guessed from all these 8 kgs 24 bikes costing half of what I paid for mine.

80 hours of riding Bonz rims with light grind and blue Heatsink pads - after approx 50 hours frenchies in very wet conditions were becoming difficult, but braking force is still brutal in the dry, so I am still waiting to do the second grind.

I found a workshop where I got my frame, fork and rims shotblasted. if you are willing to compare some offers, it will cost you not much more than £20. If you are into matte looks, this is the way to go.

2010 Zoot with Hope, Deng hubs and freewheel, Trialtech and Try All the rest. Sold recently. Had Holy Rollers on it, which had way to thin sidewalls for my taste. Grips were Ame Tri. Would recommend these to anyone not wanting the Trialtech foams.
