to be honest ive used saints and deore cranks and I cant notice any difference other than the deores are lighter and cheaper, besides there solid cranks, they wont fail straight away anyway... had a pair for just under 3 years now I think and there still working fine EDIT: not on my bikes but some friends use them. im gonna get some deores for my skye when its all done

the noise doesn't concern me at all to be honest if anything it lets me know my pads work it depends on what rim your using too, ive got this shitty onza one and some tnn lgm pads and it doesn't make noise till I put tar on it anyway

thing with modern maguras is that there not trials specific, its how they perform/work which is why trials riders use them. but to be honest ive had 2 of those 2014 levers in the space of 9 months ish, they perform really well, its just there stupidly weak. all i can say about magura's is there overkill roadbike brakes really. ive got a 2011 hs11 lever and the blades are alot stronger. i can get replacement blades for them too if it does go wrong but with the 2014 models you have to buy the complete lever, another reason there a pain in the ass
