  1. Have you dislocated your shoulder before? I've done it 3 times, ended up having sugery because i destroyed the tendons, and it just kept poping out. I'd suggest to take it easy and really go through the physiotherapy.
  2. You got it in one! And generally thought that people would have the common sence to run matching lower arms on their cars Think i'll just keep my eye out for the smaller bush arm. Did find some inserts to make mk2 arms take the smaller bushes, but at £100 they can go swivel!
  3. if you slid the caliper back as far as you could in the frame mount, wouldnt it bring the caliper slightly down?
  4. Question for Prawn/Jardo/Rainbird/Vag boys. Brought a set of TT lower arms, me being the special knob that i am got a pair with different size front bushes Guessing it'd be better to hunt for a matching Mark 1 lower arm (with the smaller bush?)
  5. you know harness's are wank when you need to lean forward to check roundabouts/junctions for oncoming traffic?
  6. I replaced mine with a cheap ebay one,, you'll be fine. This is the chip i'm on about:
  7. if its anything like the golf's (the key looks exactly the same) theres a small immobiliser chip (looks like a pill) inside the keyfob.
  8. hate to burst your bubble, used both water and CO2 extinguishers today
  9. Look at this bloody monstrosity: 3 Foot long, 1.2kg, held to the bodywork with EIGHT 13mm bolts, just to hold a couple of exhaust mounts! Took care of that, Trials weight weenie style: saved over 600 grams! also changed the exhuast mounts whilst i was there
  10. it still says practical session, i'll set off a fire extinguisher at a TV
  11. Got fire training at work tomorrow. Sounded like it was going to suck until i saw this in the agenda:
  12. got some seats today, much more side support. drivers side bolster was knackered, so stripped both seats down, and fitted the one from the passenger seat: Shes in (needs a clean!): took it for a spin, lobbed it around the first corner, heard a massive bang : Apparently bungie straps arn't great at holding sub's in, so i added more and a scenic shot of the drive home:
  13. done a little bit to my car recently. drilled out the spare wheel hold down, one step closer to boot mount battery: Also FIANLLY dug this out of the chassis rail, after it fell down the trunking for the fuel lines: Also after ripping out the back seats to fit my bike in at the weekend, the seats felt like they weighed a ton, so i got them on the scales.... 29KG!!!!
  14. isnt this how you bed pads in? (Stolen from Prawns build thread )
  15. That's always been my opinion aswell (avoid heavy braking for the first 500 miles), and what i've been told by a couple of mechanics (who have probably been in the trade longer than i've been alive )
  16. havn't registerd my vcds yet i did cycle the pump using a mates diagnostics system today inbetween bleeds. the thing is i've driven it around for a week with the pedal feeling different each time, so im not sure if theres still air in the system, or it feels the way it does because its meant to be that way
  17. that wont get air out of the hydraulic system...
  18. it is for standard pads/disks! done less than 100 miles on them. the brake bite feels amazing, its just air in the hydraulic system making the pedal feel shit...
  19. new fluid, braking gently to bed the pads/disk in old 280mm front disks were warped. for the price of 312mm disk/pads/calipers/carriers, made sence to upgrade. You of all people have experienced people driving like knobs. cornwall is twice as bad, it pays to have decent brakes!
  20. 312mm brakes, done! pedal feels a bit shit though, had horrific troubles bleeding them with the abs system
  21. brought siezed spring adjusters for £2.40 + p+p brought a blowtourch for £10 Sold spring adjusters for £28 + P+P
  22. Also remember undo them by pushing down, rarther than up. i undone mine by pulling up, the hub nut went completly loose, causing me to smack my arm on the wing, leaving an almighty bruise!
  23. aluminium, it'll bend like cheese
  24. knowing me, i doubt it i think when telling someone they're dead to you, being gramatically correct isnt the highest priority
