  1. It is squashed. Its a real cheap way of bending tube and to give extra tyre clearance
  2. for how long it would have taken to remove all the plugs for the wiring (on both looms), fed them through the bulkhead, and sorted out the throttle pedal mounts, i'm sure it is quicker to swap the bulkhead. to be honest, removing the bulkhead is not hard to do between 2 people. i had my mate putting pressure on the bulkhead from the engine bay as i used a blowtorch on the sealant, only took 30 minutes.
  3. all the mounts for the throttle pedal are completely different. the brake master/clutch look the same, same with the heater fixing points. the rest should go across fine
  4. Bulkhead is different though, so I'd have to change it regardless. Sod knows what VW were thinking with the original throttle pedal design. Quick google shows the difference between the two throttle pedals: old: new:
  5. haha. its all for an engine swap. non-pd to pd though. Wiring looms are completely different, bulkhead is different (and you can only get the loom out by removing the bulkhead anyway. )
  6. Are we still all playing the game of who's car is the most f**ked? Got the bulkhead out of mine with no damage to the bodyshell (careful use of a blowtorch!). Just need to sort the wiring for the interior lights and sunroof, then i can fit the new loom and engine
  7. the nut is a lockout nut. you loosen it off, adjust the tension via the allen bolt, then do the nut up again. it stops the adjuster working itself loose.
  8. Managed to smash out my first half marathon distance run yesterday. 13.4 miles, 1 hour 53 minutes. Ankles are pretty sore today, but generally feel pretty good considering the distance
  9. Bets on how long it takes you to set this one on fire
  10. I honestly wrote brought in my FS thread, then remembered you've ranted at me in the past like a million times, so i corrected it
  11. Finally starting to get happy about my body. Start of 2015 i was over 15 stone and thought i better pull my finger out. I've lost over 2 stone, and hitting the weights since November I've seen real improvements in muscle size and tone. I noticed my silhouette whilst closing the curtains earlier and its given me a real boost. I've also gotten back into Trials riding again. My riding had hit a wall for ages and i thought this was down to my bike feeling 'stale'. I brought a short, high bb frame and I'm absolutely loving it! The last two rides Ive already pushed myself further and gone bigger than i have in years.
  12. Agree with Andy on the Jitsie pads. Running them on a Hope and they have the same behavior at high speed. For proper trials riding they do work well though.
  13. Saw a link from this on Prawns asn thread. Hard running in always seems counter-intuitive, but it makes sense how it beds the piston rings in
  14. First comment from the Youtube clip....
  15. Could tell that from the center panel + fuse box (being a trainspotter like that!) Love old wiring looms like that. Its taken me 3-4 solid days to remove the full loom from a mk4 golf!
  16. Look what i found! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-s3-/191782898243?hash=item2ca726ca43:g:BUUAAOSw5dNWl-Uf
  17. Week before last thought i had ran 8.4 mile and was well happy with that. found out that due to my Strava glitching, i only did 7.4 miles. Went for a run Wednesday and did 10 miles. Well happy with that, well on the way to doing a half marathon in march!
  18. Enlighten the younger TF generation?
  19. Decided I'd try running at the beginning of November as quite a few of my friends are into it. The first few times i felt ruined because i couldn't pace properly, but after a month i got my breathing and pace spot on. Took December off because I've had issues with my knees. Had my first proper run yesterday, managed 8.4 miles which I'm well happy with. My legs also feel a million times better than they have done after any run I've done before.
  20. Mine last year was to get in shape. In 2015 i lost just over 2 stone, and hitting the weights most nights in the last few months I've put on a fair bit of muscle aswell. Mine for 2016 are: Carry on with the weights and getting in shape Become more confident and take more risks in life Run a half Marathon Get out more and enjoy more experiences in life
  21. Not really angry but more pissed off/bored. With all the exercise ive been doing recently, my knee started playing up. went to doctors, they diagnosed it as 'tendonitis' Ive taken it easy for almost 2 weeks (went for a 5 mile ride wednesday and i ended up in pain ) . the 'not exercising' is a struggle, but i can live with it. its Winter, the weather is shit. but because im not exercising, i don't feel tired at night. So this is the second night im up at 4am because i cant sleep
  22. i had my appraisal at work today. i hate them as Ive been marked down for petty things before. i only got told today that i was gonna be in my appraisal today. (saves me worrying about it) it turned out pretty well. Ive lost shit loads of weight this year, and that's really made me feel confident about myself and boosted my confidence. one of the biggest things that people have noticed is that I've become more confident. for people to see that has really made me feel good! and before i left, i got the letter saying that i get a pay rise and a decent Christmas bonus! Happy days!
  23. i wouldn't assume that anything you've replaced 20 months is still good. I've replaced ball joints on my car, to have them fail mot 10 or so months later due to excessive play
