  1. That's rubbish. Square taper BBs almost NEVER need replacing whilst a lot of people need to change their ISIS BBs every six months. Like everyone's said it's because ISIS use really small bearings. There's no denying that the splines are better on ISIS BBs, they're probably stronger too, but the bearings are much worse so it's a toss up really. I'd probably go ISIS if I was buying again (for stiffness and because it's impossible to round off) but I'm still on square taper Middleburns now and there's no point upgrading.
  2. One of my friends got the juice out of a glowstick in his eye. Me: "How did you manage to do that?" Him: "I was trying to eat it to make my mouth glow." riiight. Some people probably deserve to go blind...
  3. It does totally depend where you live. I've found that lots of radios only start at 88.0 and don't go as low as 87.5 - therefore there are no radio stations at 87.5. If your transmitter and radio can go that low you're onto a winner.
  4. QUOTE (joe b @ Feb 9 2008, 11:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Metatarsals arent as succeptable to things like this, though, because they are not at a major joint like the ankle. But, fair play anyway. Some of the main tendons from your leg run on the outside of your ankle and attach to the fifth metatarsal. When you roll your ankle, it is possible to snap your 5th metatarsal rather than getting a sprain or a break in your ankle. It's called an inversion fracture.
  5. I did it once, a few years ago. Me and two mates started a ride at 4:00 AM I think. It's pretty cool - for an hour or so we had the town to ourselves, and then stuff starts happening - the bin men come and shops get deliveries etc. Pretty interesting actually because there's no way in hell I'd normally be up at that sort of time
  6. You need something that will make .gif files. Adobe Image Ready will do it (which you should have if you've got Photoshop installed), but there are many simpler programs about.
  7. That's not really true. By on / offing something you're not getting enough height to stay on. You see people doing these sidehops and the only reason they can get their wheels on is because their weight is so low and to the side that there's no way they'd ever make it fully onto the wall. It's not just about the balance. If it was simply a balance thing, half the time you'd fall the other way (onto the wall) but you never see anyone doing that. Don't kid yourself. Also part of a sidehop is going sideways - it's not just about getting the height. Of course that's just my opinion though.
  8. I dunno. TF has never been a particularly Gothic place, so why use that font? Just doesn't seem right to me. Otherwise I like it though.
  9. I don't get this topic at all. I just wouldn't want to marry someone for money or any reason other than love, and I don't think I could love a man. I suppose if I married Hugh Hefner I could live in his lovely house. If I married George Bush I could find out what REALLY goes on behind the scenes. And probably the guy that invented those cartons that orange juice comes in. He's rich and I bet he's got some good stories to tell about cartons.
  10. I doubt they'll be covered, sounds like wear and tear from being in your pocket. Also those headphones are utter shite and are worth about £2 so it's not even worth bothering with. Use this as an excuse to get some decent headphones (preferably not white )
  11. You can get a Shimano XTR cassette which is Titanium. I don't think that's much use to anyone, but meh
  12. It was added to the swear filter on 11th Nov. Flavour of the last 4 months? Or here to stay? I'm in the 'I'd never wear a T-shirt with that on' camp but if some people want it, Tom/Danny should be able to rise them out for a few quid? What about a T-shirt design comp? The forum votes for their favourite 1 or 2 designs and the winner(s) get a free T-shirt?
  13. Yeah, it's a well good picture, well done Joe. Didn't see the Bess at first but that's cool too. Congrats for getting on the team too.

    The Worst Music

It was probably inevitable that this topic would end up like this. I didn't see the dog lobster pics coming though.
  15. Have you guys got nothing better to argue about?
  16. I like the way there's a 50:50 split of love/hate for '***'. The back of the T-shirt could say "OTN and biscuits"
  17. This is the kind of thing moderators are for, right? Oh well, bye bye funny.
  18. Not an amazing deal as people have found plenty of bigger drives for less money. I've got one of those (same as that but 250gb and no eSATA) and I find it fine, does exactly what it should do and looks pretty to boot. Like I said before, whether that's worth it is up to you to decide.
  19. I've got a 1Tb NAS, it's well good. It downloads torrents straight onto itself, no computer required. Oh, and it cost me £120 (second hand of course)
  20. To be honest they're all the same, there aren't really any bad ones. Just get the one that's the cheapest/looks best. The small laptop drives are a bit slower but it's unlikely you'll be really testing an external drive anyway, but they're loads more expensive for a given size and the biggest you can get is either 250 or 320Gb I think. So unless you need the portability, get a normal one. Disasterboy are you sure about them being cheaper. I haven't looked but in the past I've seen external drives cheaper than internal ones (economy of scale?) and the enclosures are usually at least another £20-30 on top.

    .,

I know what you mean. I always sidehop landing front wheel first to my 'good' (proper) side - the left. But going right I always land to two wheels. Just one of those things I guess. With enough practise I'm sure you'd iron out these little things.
  22. The problem is Apple forcing you to use their software. To buy music from the iTS you have to have an iPod to play it on, to download podcasts you need to use iTunes really. I agree, the whole setup works really well. I have a few podcasts which I've subscribed to, they get automatically synced the next time I connect the iPod, as well as any new albums I've got etc. It works great. Which is fine if you have an iPod and you like the software, but really annoying if you don't! So for a lot of people there is no alternative to having an iPod and they've got a total monopoly. Just think how different the world might be if you could sync your Creative/iRiver properly in iTunes.

    Cross Lacing

I'm pretty sure this is the only answer in this thread that's correct: Just do it 3x -there's no real point in doing anything else. Read up about it if you want, but it's easier just to trust me. But bear in mind what Psycholist has said.
