  1. I can't see it being possible, unless you could get some funny ethernet -- wireless ^v^v^ wireless -- ethernet thing that worked in place of an ethernet cable. I don't know of one though. You'd need a power supply too I guess. You could probably get a tiny linux computer with wifi and keep that up the pole. Something like an eeePC. Would take a lot of setting up I'd imagine and probably not worth the hassle. Or there are wifi-enabled SD cards about but I don't know if they would work, and I don't know about CF either. Couple that with a wireless remote and that could work but I don't know if the technology exists yet. http://www.eye.fi/
  2. Yeah, I was going to say that. He convinced her that the TPA was the 'jump button'. She thought it was broken So maybe the public perception always was and is that the special bike does all the work? Especially as standards are pushed and things become more unbelievable. I mean in the early days when people were riding their XC bikes over a log 12" off the ground, that stuff just looks like someone who has spent too much time practising how to ride a push bike. But as soon as people start doing huge sidehops, riding on rails etc then it goes out of the realm of what most people think is possible on a normal bike. Which to be fair, it is a bit. Most bikes are very well-adapted these days. Put <insert TF superstar here> on a rigid XC bike from the 90s and I'd be very surprised if they could gap/sidehop/climb half as far/high.
  3. HP = Headphone. That just tells you if the headphones are detected.
  4. The skull and crossbones one I really can't decide about. On the one hand it's a really cool idea and nicely done... On the other hand it's piss funny and I'd never wear it.
  5. Could well be a dead hard drive. Does it do anything when you connect it to the computer? You probably need to take it to a Apple shop. Luckily for me there's 2 within 5 miles of my house, but for other people it can be a total hassle. If it's in warranty they should be able to sort you out there and then. If it's not in warranty, google for what the exact error message is - there are plenty of sites/forums dedicated to iPods so it's fairly easy to get an answer from somewhere.
  6. Yeah PocketRocket is right - you can download all your songs again from the iTunes store, or you can just back them up. You can 'authorise' a different computer to play them, I think you can do this 5 times. Anyway, just read this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93014 Remember to 'deauthorise' the computer before formatting it though, in case that affects it. The weird file structure thing is only on the iPod itself. All my iTunes music is in neatly arranged folders (iTunes music/artist/album/song), don't see why yours would be any different?
  7. This might be of use. LINK You're going to have to explain it better though.
  8. Let it never be said that romance is dead.
  9. I would have gone with 'go f**k yourself'. Happened to me last year (Did I say I hate Valentine's day?) Haha, maybe. But I do think with my girlfriend she doesn't care about the cost (which is good) but she over-emphasises how much thought is required (very very bad). Stupid women.
  10. They're the worst. Obviously the answer is 'just something thoughtful, doesn't have to be expensive' which is the worst suggestion ever.
  11. I hate Valentines' day. Easily the worst day of the year for me. So much expectation and it's ALWAYS shit. I was going to close the topic in anger, but I could probably do with some of your gift ideas

    Iq

IQ isn't supposed to be dependent on what you know. In theory you should get the same IQ as a child as when you are an adult, although the test is different to make up for age differences.
  13. Well, no it's not. Nowadays that's really expensive for 1Gb ram, but because no one is buying SDRAM any more there's no market for it and it becomes more expensive. I'd probably pay £38 though - it should increase the performance loads - Windows XP just doesn't work on any less than 512 really.
  14. No way, that's sad news No he had (alledgedly - the Doctors never really knew exactly) a rare form of MS which only affected his legs. Not really related to the heart thing. Guess it's just bad luck. RIP

On the basis of those scores, TF must be full of geniuses. This surprises me.
  16. It's really old that system, takes SDRAM which isn't really available any more. Best bet is probably to buy second hand from eBay since lots of people will have it and since it's fairly useless nowadays, it'll probably be cheap.

    Cheap Xc Bike

I ride in the bit near Manchester mostly - so around Edale/Hayfield/New Mills/Ladybower. You can park anywhere around there without any problems. Edale station car park New Mills co-op car park The problem is finding decent routes though. There are hundreds of bridleways but some are good, some are bad - are some are only good in certain directions. Best way is to go with someone who knows where they're going, or get a route online somewhere. That's not very near Derby I know. As for trials, I don't really know either.
  18. I propose two different options. 1) You could try and make the effort not to be provocative all the time and wind people up 2) We could just ban you from the forum Seriously, you'd have thought that after several warnings you might think you ought to change how you act. Apparently not. Back on topic - Arnie's a cross dresser, whereas Sly is just nails.
  19. Your name is stupid now then. Nice bike though

    Puzzle Time

Yes, but totally worth it for this: Mmmm, pie-thagoras.
  21. They need to be in the correct iPod format. Google Handbrake or videora ipod convertor.
  22. Bad example because the 66s with the ATA cartridge are well known for blowing up. Marzocchi have had hundreds of sets returned. But it's a good point anyway - even if you design and make something perfectly, there's always going to be one or two that have problems, E.g. because of a bad material or whatever. Unless this happens to lots of people, I don't really see that anyone needs to worry about buying Tensile freewheels.
  23. It doesn't matter what the question is. The answer is this: ... and just like that, the thread was finished! (Let us never speak of this again) [/power abuse]
