  1. Plus the profile was really 'high' so they rolled off the rim really easily on anything even slightly off-camber. They've improved a bit recently though - I had a Tioga Blue Dragon on the front of my bike a while back. It was OK, nothing to write home about but it did the job well enough. A million times better than the Factory DHs though.
  2. I think it's possibly 'FAQ' Bongo
  3. That's a well expensive way of doing it though - they're £300+ sim-free from HTC. Just read around - I decided to avoid the T-mobile one and get the Orange version and it was a good choice. Any applications can be found on xda-developers, and you can change the software. I ditched the Windows Mobile 5 Orange software that came on my phone and got a different rom with WM 6.0. It requires a bit of effort but it's worth it.
  4. I've got wireless printing via my PC which was a bit of a faff to set up (although I don't know if that's more because of the Windows machine) but it's very robust now and works really well. If you're into double-sided printing, that won't work over wireless and I'm not sure about borderless photo printing either. I think you're asking about connecting a printer directly to the router though, right? Apple routers are a bit of a rip off to be honest. You can get much things much cheaper but they might not be so elegant. For example get a normal router (£50 ish) and a 500gb NAS with printer support (£100 ish?). But you'll have wired networking too, and you'll be able to access the hard drive from other computers, and have a printer AND hard drive. I think there's a hack to run Time Machine from a network drive now too. Leopard is good, well worth it IMO. For me it's just a lot of the little things that make it better than Tiger. Time Machine is OK but not all that amazing (I can do backups fine on my own without a stupid animation) but the changes to Finder and Mail alone are worth the upgrade.
  5. I think it just uses normal html ports (80) so if your internet is working then it's not a network problem. I don't know is the answer
  6. Probably. HTC make phones and then they get rebadged as Orange/O2/T-mobile/whatever. Some of them have subtle differences (For example the t-mobile version of my phone didn't have wifi - presumably it was disabled to increase phone data charges which is a bit sneaky) but a lot of those hidden features can probably be unlocked with software updates (www.xda-developers.com). I think the built-in keyboard on the TyTn is probably a good thing, it would prevent half of the annoyances I've had with my phone. Provided you could deal with the extra size.
  7. I had them today. My missus was round for a cuppa so I was getting some biscuits in. Problem is, she's given up chocolate for lent so I wasn't allowed to buy anything with chocolate on. I thought I was going to have to settle for plain digestives ( ) when I spotted these badboys. I was happy, but I've eaten nearly a whole packet by myself and I feel a bit sick. They're good though!
  8. It's not really the fact that they're unresponsive, it's the whole idea of using a touchscreen. You get no feedback from your fingers about what you're doing. I can write a text on a normal phone without looking, whereas on a touchscreen phone you always have to be looking where your fingers are. Especially as sometimes it won't register a press or it'll be the wrong character. The thing that winds me up most with mine (and I don't know if I'm unique) though is this: If I'm using the touchscreen keypad, occasionally it'll register a button press as if I'm pressing the start button (which is weird since the start button is in the top corner, away from the keypad which is at the bottom of the screen). So the start menu pops up and if your fingers are moving fast it's very easy to press to run a program. So you're typing a text and then BAM! A program will start loading. Then you have to wait for it to load and then quit out of the program. As much as I love all the things my phone can do, the next phone I get won't be one of these I don't think. Having said all that, the touchscreen on the iPhone is MUCH more responsive than on my phone (HTC/Orange m700) so perhaps it's not half as frustrating to use. Maybe when they sort out a 3g one with a decent amount of storage and lots of 3rd party programs for it, I'll get one.
  9. No one wants to know about that, not on this forum please.

Yeah I've driven a LWB trannie and they're a total b*****d to reverse using just the door mirrors. Obviously cars have rear view mirrors which make things a bit easier but it's still far easier just to look over your shoulder.
  11. Wow, that looks pretty cool! Good find. I might have to go and check that out at some point. Haven't ridden natural for years though
  12. You're both as bad as each other then...

I don't get why you're so angry about this? Worst case scenario: Beau's at risk of potentially being guilty of death by dangerous driving which could mean up to 14 years in jail - in addition to the knowledge that he may have killed someone which will haunt him for the rest of his life. It's quite hard to imagine something more 'real' than that?
  14. 7.2 posts per day average for Muel vs 4.4 for Dave. I'm lagging - only 2.6 posts per day for me

Er, no?! Where have you heard that from? I would have thought the opposite would be true - reversing with the mirrors alone is really quite hard. In fact it's even in highway code that you're allowed to take your seatbelt off (only when reversing) in order to look behind you more easily.
  16. 'Holistic' can basically be substituted for 'bollocks' these days. Don't be stupid enough to buy them. I also like the way they've obviously got some stock pictures of models and then used paint to draw a pink square on them OK, I looked it up. The active ingredient, Fucus Vesiculosus, is basically a seaweed and a rich source of iodine. Iodine is essential for making thyroid hormone which is important for controlling your metabolic rate. But assuming that increasing the amount of iodine in your diet will lead to weight loss is just retarded. No one in the developed world is short of iodine - because table salt has been iodinated for years so it's virtually impossible. At best it's just a rip-off.

I'm not quite sure how you know you were doing 15 - were you looking at the speedo or looking where you were going? 15 mph going backwards is really fast - the steering at that speed is really twitchy and I certainly wouldn't go that fast backwards on a street with other cars and (obviously) people.

No one knows the full story, and it seems like a lot of people are quick to jump on it saying it must have been Beau's fault. Accidents do happen and most people would like the benefit of the doubt from their friends on a forum. Taking the moral high ground is pointless in a situation like this. Beau - I hope the old guy's OK and that it all works out for you. Good luck, you might need it.
  19. Nah, every single one that you posted is decent. There's some really good angles and compositions in there, and the night ones are cool as well. Add that to the awesome weather and great riders and you've got some great pics. Plus it looks like an awesome trip and it you seem to have captured the atmosphere. But then you are a pro photographer so I won't be that impressed. Try harder next time
  20. I've just deleted the last few posts. Stop arguing, children

Yeah, this is really old. And use the best of the internet thread please
  22. So by the end of this you'll have worked 33 hours, with only a 2 hour break tomorrow morning?! Madness. Also illegal but meh.
  23. I've got an Orange m700 too, and my Dad has the HTC Touch which is actually quite nice. It's far smaller than mine (it feels almost half as thick), and has a classy finish on it. The screen is glossy and looks awesome. But overall I'm not impressed with Windows phones at all, I don't think the touch screens are good enough at the moment.
  24. That's exactly what I was going to say. Some awesome riding by the looks of things and good camera skills from Josephine.
