Even though cars are big business, car manufacture is only a tiny percentage of all industry. I'd be interested to know if car manufacturers are doing better out of it anyway, I suspect not - there is much more emphasis on public transport and using your car less which is more important than a car that does 1mpg more than a competitor. But you may be right, people are idiots and don't realise the carbon footprint of manufacturing a new car (even a hybrid ) is pretty huge.

You can also do it from Windows if you'd rather. They don't give you the option, so you have to do it manually. Start + R Type 'cmd' press (without the quotes) and press enter If your hard drive is on E: (for example) type 'format E: /FS:FAT32' (without the quotes) and press enter, obviously change the letter as appropriate.

OS X has all the printer drivers built in you know? Unless you want the software for the printer (I don't both with that, it works fine).

I know what you're saying but it's a funny argument. By that logic I could say that black is like white because black is the absense of white

I find it hard to believe that we are not responsible for climate change. If you're suggesting that big business has a vested interest in covering this up (and I'd agree), surely you'd get evidence against climate change from dubious sources. Similarly, I can't think of any big business who would gain from discovering climate change WAS a product of our pollution - so no one will fund research to prove this. Considering the scientific evidence suggests that climate change IS occurring means (to me) that even the large companies with big budgets can't disprove it. Ergo - it's happening. My current feelings on the matter: It's the earth and we owe it everything. We rely on it to live etc. f**king about with it will most likely end in tears...

Do you mean atheist or agnostic? Agnostic means you haven't made up your mind/ you're not sure. Atheist means you categorically do not believe in God. I guess if you believe blindly in God without questioning anything, instead of believing in science, then you might think the bible was 'correct' in everything it says literally. But that's just daft - there are plenty of Christians who believe in science and use the bible as a guide, not to be taken too literally. Which makes some sense if you're the kind of person that needs that faith. I wouldn't ever think anyone was strange for believing in it, if it helps them or makes their life better in some way. But it just doesn't doesn't make sense to me at all. I remember sitting in church when I was really young - about 6 - and just thinking to myself that it was all a load of rubbish, and that's pretty much how I stand now. But I'd say I was agnostic, I don't believe in a Christian God but I also don't think science has disproved the possibility of some kind of higher being. How did we get here? What would it be like if there was just nothing in the universe? I can't answer those questions so maybe there is something else. I thought that was the Amish? The Mormons are the ones who have branches that are basically bults, they make loads of money out of it.

Quite an eye-opener, that. I didn't realise there were people who actually HATE atheists. Seems like an oxymoron to me - anyone Christian enough to think that shouldn't have hate for anyone. So I conclude they're not Christians, they're morons.

Niiiiiice HD video looks so pretty, but a lot of it is down to the cameraman, some really shots in there. And obviously some pretty huge riding but we weren't expecting anything else EDIT: I don't like the selective colour thing. Except where the wall changes from grey to blue at ~4.15 on the first vid, that's cool

You need to sort the timing out though - it stops at one point. AND it's actually quite annoying

Before you stick the new bars on, it might be worth filing off any sharp edges on that brake lever clamp.

It's not that bad here. You've just gotta learn to take it on the chin. By the way, topics like this don't particularly endear you to other members.

James Porter And Damon Watson Sign For Trials-uk For 2008
Tomm replied to Dan@Trials-uk's topic in News
Those things usually cover up important screw holes so if the sticker is intact it means you've not unscrewed the case and fiddled inside. Pretty sure they're never just there for the sake of it. -
Obviously there's only one person you need to speak to - that's Steve@Heatsink. I'm sure he'll sort you out. But at the end of the day you're complaining about something that would take two minutes to fix. Obviously it shouldn't have happened in the first place but still...

If that's me you're talking about you're way off. When we last had the old style profiles I was on 55% chit chat posts with a total of 5400 posts. So that's like 6000 odd chit chat posts. More have been added since then

The connections should be fairly standard But the old one might not be powerful enough for a newer system - You can usually take bits out/unplug them to reduce power draw though (E.g extra ram, hard drives, CD-rom). To boot up you don't need anything in it really except the motherboard. If you just attach the motherboard (and CPU) it should power on and beep if it finds a problem (E.g. that it's missing some vital bits like RAM/video card). My point is that an old psu could almost certainly be used to test the system, if not run it properly.
-
It's kinda hard to say. Like Broomer said it could well be the motherboard. Best thing to do would be to swap bits out of another computer (saves you buying things), but that isn't exactly easy unless you know someone with a similar computer. Not sure :/
-
Does it make any beeping noises or is it completely dead? Anything inside obviously loose/broken/burnt? Could still be the PSU though. A PSU can supply a small amount of power even when the computer's off - This is why you can charge USB things with the computer off, and why the lights inside stay on.

OK, do mine then. Bear in mind that you won't be able to see any pre-2003 post

James Porter And Damon Watson Sign For Trials-uk For 2008
Tomm replied to Dan@Trials-uk's topic in News
Yeah, and remember that Joe is just a random guy on a random forum. Dan is a business person trying to make money out of it, so his 'snide comments' are automatically going to scrutinised more thoroughly, especially when it looks a lot like like he's trying to take down a competitor. Even if what Porter said is true, it's below the belt as I said. If it's not true then it's malicious. This whole thing reflects quite badly on Trials-UK in my opinion, so Dan's shot himself in the foot. It would probably be wise to realise that probably all the trials shops in the UK depend on Trials Forum for the major part of their business, and that bad press on here is likely to affect your business. Just sayin' s'all. -
I don't think that works if you've been around a while and posts have been lost, but it might work for some. My method involved using the "most active in" part of the profile, which isn't available any more. It used to say No. posts - 5000, most active in Chit-Chat (50% of posts). Which would mean that you'd have 10000 posts overall since you know only half of them contributed to your post count. But it doesn't tell you that any more

I know how, and it's not that difficult

Don't tease me bro. That video is immense - he never stops or messes up a line does he? Apart from that ridiculous backwards nose roll-tailwhip-360 off he was trying

Thanks for the bump. That's because: You said it OK, maybe not everyone. But a good proportion do. The insurance companies have done their sums and they know that people who run modifed cars have a much higher risk of having accidents - That's why they charge more. It's not coincidence. Obviously driving a car with mods doesn't necessarily make you more dangerous, but the mentality of a driver who mods a car is more likely to be one of a bit of a boy racer. The insurance companies are just playing the percentages. And from the way you were you talking about making a 1.4 Polo slide out, I'd guess that you drive a bit recklessly too, sometimes? I don't especially mean that as a criticism, just a fact. This is why your insurance is high. Oh, and this is total bullshit:

Fair do's. I'm still wondering about upgrading (I mainly just want the prettiness and Time Machine) but might leave it for a while longer. Question: Does anyone know of a backup/folder mirroring tool for Macs? I have Synctoy for my PC and that's brilliant. Is there a mac alternative?
