  1. That is some some crazy stuff. That first line - there is no way I could even think of it, let alone do it!

    Appendicitis

lol, you were just talking about having to remove them both anyway, so of course you can survive without it. Basically it's just a pointless bit of tissue (hence the name) that you don't need. Some kind of embryological remnant like your tailbone.

    Oooo Nooo

I think it was about £26 for me, then you get a tax bill for an extra £17 a bit later. That's for the standard axle sent back, upgraded to HD with fun bolts, inc postage. Downside is the time it takes for them to turn it around, it's a few weeks IIRC.

    Juicy 5's

Bike shops (on the whole) don't know about brakes for trials, and they don't understand how Avid cable discs are The Shit®. I went from a BB7 to a Juicy 7 and I wouldn't really recommend it. The juicy doesn't have quite as much bite as the BB7. It's close but it's just not there exactly, and it's not worth spending extra money on. If BB7s were more expensive, people wouldn't feel the need (like I did) to upgrade to something "better". Stick with what you've got and save the money for a rainy day

You're only a real man if you punch walls and fight. Real men don't accept homosexuality either. Also you've got to make it clear on the internets so people know just how damn straight you are. Roar! Feeeeel the testosterone.

I have no idea whether you're joking. But you only have one appendix.

I am not a woman. I will never be a woman. Does that mean it's 100% unnatural? I have never been a person who likes tomatoes. Does that mean they're unnatural? I really think that what other people do is up to them, and it's not for me (or anyone else) to stick noses into other people's business. The only reason that I can see for people to be to afraid of gay people is that they're worried that it might bring out something in them that they're repressing. Don't they say everyone's a little bit gay?
  8. Looks like it's a warrantee job really. But there are a few things you can try in the meantime: Make sure the lens mount is clean, not dusty or anything Remove the battery, put it back (or try another one if you have it) Try a different memory card There's a reset button on the bottom? Press that or something Flash the firmware to the latest one
  9. I'd go for at least £4k including the service I reckon. £200 off the asking price isn't very much, usually you can haggle harder than that. But don't blame me if it all goes tits up

    Bmx Shops

Pfft no! I ordered an XC bike from there over a week ago (on the tuesday). Supposed to come next day. After a week it still wasn't dispatched, so I phoned up, and you get through to some dumb receptionist (A woman who clearly has no idea about bikes) who just takes your number and says she'll get someone to ring back, and you'll be waiting for nothing. Then when it was finally dispatched (A week late) it took 3 days to come, even though it was supposedly posted by ParcelForce 24 hours. Although that could have been Royal Mail's fault. AND then now it's arrived, the U-turn adjustment on the fork is knackered - the adjuster dial was cracked. I phoned up and got through to the same stupid woman who told me that she couldn't give me a new adjuster if the bike had been ridden. This was on Friday (yesterday) and the person dealing with returns wasn't in, so I would have to wait for Monday. She wanted me to not ride my shiny new bike because of a shitty disc adjuster. So I argued and she put me through to a really sound guy in "MTB Sales" who said he would personally sort me out with a new adjuster knob. We will see how that goes. AND the rear brake is pissing fluid all over the disc. And a pedal (V8 copy) was so tight that it wouldn't even spin. Luckily I knew what to do, but a lot of people wouldn't, so that's crap. So overall I rate the service as completely wank. [/rant] Although I ordered a BMX a few years ago and it came the next day (as it should have). And if nowhere else has the bike, then you don't have much choice For anyone wondering, I rode XC today and it was really good. The back brake was slowly leaking oil, but somehow it's working OK, with a funny squeal. But it'll be much better when it's fixed.
  11. On the mac you can select file > import to import a single song, but if you choose File > Add to library, you can select a whole directory. Not sure if you can do that on the PC, but worth a try

Why would you feel sorry for them? What if they have a better life than you? P.S. This is by far the best topic in here in a while
  13. I don't really understand why people won't wear glasses. I'm only mildly shortsighted (-1.5 ish) but it would really annoy me if I was out and about and not wearing them. I would just miss out on lots of stuff because I couldn't see it. But to answer the question, it all depends on the glasses. I have one pair (my favourite) that will fall off my head so easily if I get a bit sweaty. If I go riding and realise I've got them on it annoys me so much as I really can't do anything. But I have other pairs (with longer, more curved arms) which don't do this and it's not a problem. Still, if I'm doing any sport I prefer to have contacts in, just so much better. Why not get some daily disposables and then only use them on days you want to ride?

I have no problem with it, in the way that I don't have a problem with people fancying girls I wouldn't, or people that like different food to me. Too many people are worrying about what other people are up to, when it's none of their business. I don't really care either way I had always wondered about this though - TF is generally quite open about most topics (possibly too open in some cases) but I always wondered if anyone would be openly homosexual on here. There does seem to be quite a homophobic atmosphere on here. But statistically there has got to be some gay people on here. Does that mean that they (as a race) will all die out eventually then? Like Pandas?
  15. If works with two eyes too if you're far enough away. Or quite close if I take my glasses off

    The Truman Show

I see what you're saying and it's a good point. But what if they're kinda double bluffing you?
  17. Frames, rims. Although I think you're more likely to wreck rims by doing drop gaps all the time...
  18. But what Kieron is saying is that the longer level on the HS11 counteracts the fact that you have a larger master piston. Also your maths make no sense at all, what you have said is that the HS11 has more mechanical advantage than the HS33. But the slave pistons are the same on each system anyway, so what you've written is bobbins. Basically, what anyone needs to know is that the HS33s are better. Although more expensive.
  19. It's obvious what it means, and there's a picture on the PDF anyway... Not rocket science! I made one, it's very cool, but I find you have to be a long way away for it to work. If you close one eye it works much better, but most people don't do that.

    The Truman Show

I always pondered what it would be if I was a TV program, and then they made a film about it. But I don't think it changed the way I thought about stuff.

    New Tattoos

I'm not sure it's that much better to have a joke on your arm than to have a "fashion item". Both are pretty lame, especially after you've looked at it once or twice
  22. No one uses Mavic rims because they're too narrow for most people's taste. Ceramic is good, but a grind is better and you can do it on any rim. Also ceramic can chip off easily, and when it's gone, it's gone. Whereas you can always re-grind a rim. You can put just about anything in Maguras. I've never really had any problems with the proper oil People on here bleed their brakes too often. You only need to do it if there's a leak or something, and there really shouldn't be any need to bleed once a month as I'm sure some people seem to be doing! So I would say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But to answer your question, water is fine but it has disadvantages in that it can freeze and it probably isn't as good for the brake as putting brake fluid in (Which has lubricating properties as well). Plus it's not as if mineral oil is expensive - one bottle ought to last a lifetime really (see above point!). Advantages - it's cheap, it's always available (even on Sundays when your hose has snapped and there are no bike shops around), it's thinner than most oils so it gives a snappier feel to the brake.
  23. If anything, the Swampthing will have more rolling resistance than a high roller. I run one: Good grip, good puncture resistance, but not great for rolling stuff. Like Ashton ET Frames?
  24. Agree with what Matt said but not sure on what you said about it feeling half way between a mod and a 26". It depends on setup and whatever, but I think it's more like between a 26" and a BMX or something (although much nearer to a trials bike than to a BMX).
