Yea i was the muppet who had a squishy water bleed :$ It was my first bleed (that could sound very bad to you sickos out there!) and i forgot to lift the brake lever so it had some air in. Now it's done properly and feels pukka Not entirely sure of the cons of water bleeds myself but it defo feels alot better than oil now

I think it's about time that list was revised

It's £3 for the grind but an extra £2 if it's on an echo rim. My koxx yellows on the previous rim were ok, but now im getting better i could do with something i can trust more on drop gaps etc. Meh medium ordered

I think it's important to know when you're getting higher/further so you want to keep riding and progressing, i suppose even getting out the measuring tape on the odd occasion is ok but i think if you are getting it out constantly to see if you're that tiny bit better than your mate or whatever just takes the fun out of it. I kind of work on the basis, if you want to make a move, keep trying until you do it. Thats progression as i see it.

Aloha, so yea after mullering my 06 echo rim im about to buy the 07 version.. Also getting it ground by Selectbikes but im unsure as to the difference between a medium and light grind. Ive only had one grind in the past which was done by a mate so im not sure if you'd call it light or what. Ive also heard that echo rims hold grinds quite well so would light be ok? For the record im using Koxx yellow pads and like a bit of moderation but obviously a good sticky sharp brake. Cheers EDIT: I've had a search through and found one or two spoke length calculators but the results from each vary Hub: Hope Mono 135mm Rim: Echo 07 From http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/ i got 259.5mm (non drive) and 258.3mm (drive side) for a 3x build. But From DT Swiss i got 244mm non drive, and 243 drive side. Which one shall i go for or should i just take it to my LBS for them to sort out?! Help muchos appreciated!

There is quite alot of difference between being an officer in the Marines or just a squaddie. I'm kind of n the same situation, im about to take my final a-levels and i hope to join the marines in a few months but the rents would rather i go to college or uni first. I think you've got to be dead set on getting in the marines if you're going to go for it. Its really damn tough to get in, at times you are going to feel like quitting, if you've got a backup plan, like college, you might take the easy way out. If its between officer or squaddie, Lympstone commando do a 'Potential Officers Insight Course' or something that i did last July, its basically the Potential Officers Course with al the same tests and gym tests etc but just a mock up so you can get a feel for it. You also get to go parachuting! Woop! Might be worth doing either way!

I've been about to do a drop before, when some old people just came out of nowhere, I had to bail and do anything to avoid them. Can end up being very nasty...

You're bound to get some cops that are dicks, he might have stayed alright if you had moved on, but its all about rights. PUBLIC park. By the way you have worded it, he didn't even try to negotiate and it sounds like he couldn't be bothered to give you the time of day so he just nicked you. You sound a bit like me, a decent fella who's considerate of other people, and if that situation happened to me i would have stuck up for myself and questioned it too, because all people shouldn't get tarred with the same brush. Also there's no need to push you to the floor if you weren't behaving violently, you see it on those police camera action type things where even when people are starting fights and pished out of their faces they get asked to put their hands behind their backs etc not just wrestled to the floor. If a cop arrests you, you have the right to ask for his name and badge number and i think a written reason for arrest as well. Might be worth doing next time so you can take it further with half a chance.
