  1. Very nice bike mate! Am I the only person that's noticed he doesn't actually seem to have a rear sprocket on there at all, guess that'd be because of the temporary rear wheel..... Once you get the cranks and rear wheel sorted it should be an extremely sexy ride.
  2. Hey, well I'm looking at building up a really streety bike, that's not necessarily confined to street trials, as in i can use if for all kinds of street riding within reason. I'm gunna be using a '99 100mm Marzocchi Z1 BAM up front, and i was thinking about the Woodman Elite frame. I'm gunna be using disks, so I was considering 24" wheels seriously. If anyone knows about any other frames in that price range (£250ish) that would do the job nicely then can they say, and any opinions on the woodman would be cool. Cheers, Robin.
  3. Yeah, I het you're point, I've always thought all that about friends staying friends too, its a dam good point. Thing is that we're not realy friends in the normal way, as in, we only seem to be friends because we so blatently want to be more, but the situations never been right. It sucks realy. I doubt I'd get my head kicked in, her boyfriends a realy nice guy, and id probly end up kicking my oown head in for being such a twat towalds someone who doesn't deserve it. Thats whyt I'm not gunna try and break em up realy. Just stay being there for her if she needs me and hope that sometime the situation will be right. It's just eating at me that I realy like her and I know she likes me, but nothing can happen! It doesn't help that she's rediculously hot.
  4. Hey, hey guys. I got dumped aout 2 months ago by my girlfriend who I'd been with 13 months. No warning, no good reason, just 'I like someone else' Its preaty shit realy, coming from someone who had already started planning that we were gunna go to the same uni (we're only in the first year of college/a-levels!). It hit me preaty hard and that night I just got compleatly f**ked on anything I could find (erm... cider teachers whisky and some funky flapjacks if i remember what my mates told me). the whole thing f**ked me up a bit realy, I mean, i thought I properly loved her, and then she does this to me! Well I'm over her and all that shit now, but its fu*king weird veing single again after that long and I realy miss the companionship and all that bollocks. My current problem however is that I now realy realy like this girl, who I've known and liked a bit for ages, but she has a serious boyfriend. It's so anoying, as soon as I become single, she stops being single! But the main problem is, I realy realy like her, and I cant have her, and its eating at me soo much. It's fu*king anoing!!! I'm not gunna try and split em up or anything, because that would realy upset her, and I know how he'd feel having just had someone steel my girlfriend, and on top of it all he's a realy nice guy who doesnt deserve it! why couldnt he have just been an asswhole, than I'd have no objection! Anyone got any ideas of what to do, I can't realy see a possible solution to be honest, besides wait, or intuduse him to a realy nice girl, and hope he f**ks her over for the new girl. But I'm preaty sure he's too nice to do that, and I cant think of anyone who would be worth dumping her for anyway. I'll stop ranting now, as no'one cares. And feel free to ridicule (spl?) me, I could do with a laugh, college is boring as.
  5. Hey, Have you had a look at the forks that on-one make? I think there partners or something with PX and alot of the products are identical. I think these are the same as the PX superlights. Dunno if this helps, but I thought I'd say anyway.
  6. And then lacquer it and repeat the sand/polish thing and get a rim so shiny you get stoner kids following it around!
  7. I usualy ride with something loud and fast. Im gunna get ridiculed for this, but usualy Emo/screamo and ska punk, but I also listen to a healthy mix of all other kinds of punk aswell. So usualy a mixture of some Silverstein, Alexisonfire, Streetlight Manifesto, NOFX, Senses fail, Mumrah, Refused.... you get the idea, that kinda thing. Please dont go on about the whole 'You Emo scum' sh*t, because I'm realy boared of it now. Most of the people who say it dont know anything about it anyway, so just don't bother. Anyway, yeah, music helps me ride.
  8. If you ask hope nicely I'm sure they'd be happy to make you up one. I think they stopped selling them in the UK a few years ago. Check that the foriegn (spl) sites arnt just old stock, because as hopes a UK bassed company I wouldn't realy expect them to bring anything out in other places and not the UK.
  9. Hey there, I'm another victim of this little shit and I'm very interested in joining you in you're atempt for his money. About 9 months ago I swapped a nice spec Woodman T-pro for his Koxx levelboss 20" only to find tht it had a deliberatly conceald crack in it and the fork steerer was dangerously short for the frame. which i figure reduces its value by atleast £200, there for he owes me atleast £200. I spoke to him for ages after the incodent and he claimed that he would send me his well spec'd BMX for me to sell, which he never did, then he stopped contact with me. After much negotiation we agreed that he would get the money to me by christmas. Which obviosly never happened. I havent been on his ass as much as I should have, but now finding myself a skint and jobless student, I want my effing money! Could you please Add me on msn at ringwams@hotmail.com and we can have a chat, because I realy want to help you nail this little shit. well, chears if you've been assed to read my rant. Robin
  10. Its a good idea mate but the problem is that the majority of hubs that have the small thread on them are 'flip-flop' hubs meaning they have bothe threads, one on each side and you just 'flip' the wheel round to use the other size thread, so if you are using the smaller thread, then chances are that you could just flip your wheel round rather than buy an adapter.
  11. Yeah, soz i was more meaning that it now alows more Front Freewheel compatability because of the ISIS fitting.
  12. Yeah, I just noticed that they would be crap on Mods because they would skrew the chainline right up.
  13. Cool, chears, I must have missed the news about them making external BBs, I still like truvatives idea though because it keeps everything interchangeable rather than being stuck with one make. P.S. The chain in that picture looks preaty fooked.
  14. The only other question I have thought of is that it doesnt look like the chainline is adjustable, so does it oftern requier bodging if you want to run it closer to the dropout?
  15. I just noticed that alot of the 2006 kona jump bikes at work have Truvative ISIS external bottom brackets, I realy like the idea of these as it gives the advantages of the Shimano/raceface systems but without the lack of trials compatability. My only consern is that on stock bikes the bearing housing may be a bit vunerable, But on Mods the sump guard would protect it anyway. What do you lot think? a good idea or not? http://www.sram.com/en/truvativ/mountain/b...er/howitzer.php (Although in this picture it doesnt apear to have a ISIS interface, I assure you it does on the production models.)
  16. Oh yeah, my mistake, on closer inspection its just the UCI set that only come in 170-175mm. Cheers again
  17. Cool chears, just that on tarty they say they only come in 170 and 175 lengths, but ill get them through work anyway for staff discount :turned: .
  18. Are tensiles availible in any shorter lengths than 170m? because I'm riding mod and prefer 165-160mm cranks to longer ones. If not what other cranks would be good that do come in shorter lengths. keeping in mind that I need freewheel cranks and for as little money as is resonable.
  19. The only thing he didnt mention is that you shoul make sure that when drive is applyed to the wheel (or breaking force for disc wheels) the ste of spokes that tentioned should be the set on the outside of the flange. So on a standared rear hub the out-bound spokes should be going anti-clockwise on the dive side (looking at the wheel from the drive side) and the non-drive should be going clockwise (looking from the non-drive side). where as on a front disc hub they should be doing the oposite and on a rear disc hub they should be going anti-clockwise from both sides. (drive side for the driving force and disc side for the breaking force). However I havent noticed the difference on my jump bike since fitting a disc to a wheel built with rim-break use in mind, but this is how wheels are meant to be built.
  20. I think he gets alot of his turnover selling cheap bikes like saracens on E-bay. I bet if you searched his name in the sellers there would be loads of shit in there. Hes definatly not only selling trials stuff, look in the back of any mid 2003 MBUKs, look for the add with the picture of a munting woman in small clothes as the background and you've found his shop! It sold loads of jump bike and cheep DH stuff, kinda like a worse vertion of Dream Cycles. I bought a 2003 saracen x-cell frame off him through E-bay and it took alot of e-mails and 2 weeks to arrive, some bull about not recieving the order (how do u manage that with an e-bay auction surely you notice that its ended?????).
  21. If were going down that rout then lead has an almost infinate fatigue length (amount of times it can be bent), but then it would be fuggin heavy and a bit too weak. A good way of tentioning chains on jump bikes that need the dropouts to be clean for stalls/grinds is to ust a front chain-device's lower roler to tention the chain, however on most trials bikes you'd probably obliterate the roller preaty fast. I just re-read my post and noticed that its all pointless bull as none of it will probably help, ive just suggested stuff and then pointed out its flaws but hay, Sorry.
  22. Cool pic, but I saw u ride better in plymouth ages ago mini-man. I never get why spme people have a problem with emos but not punks or punks but not emos, true Emo is just a variation of punk rock, with more EMOtional lyrics and therefore emos are basicly punks minus the mohecans.
  23. Rotors are normaly mad from preaty hard stainless steel, although I don't know if it is usualy hardened or not.
  24. What PSI you run realy does depend on how smooth you are and how you ride, I run 20 rear and 25 front on my Mod with Creepy crawlers. but evn when im doing street trials style moves on my jump bike I still run them at 70-80ish because the shape of the bike makes landing trials stuff smooth realy dificult and I have DMR tyres which pich megga easily :( .
  25. Get under the car you wanna raise and read the weight of the spring that should be written down the side of it, then measure the eye to eye length of the shock and the diamiters of the shock bushings at each end. Go to youre local scrappy with these measurements and look around till you find shocks with the same bushing diamiter but with an eye to eye length that is longer than the old ones and a corespondingly lighter spring rate. Youre best bet would be to look at lightish 4X4s made by the same make as youre car (or a sister company eg. Dedford 4X4 with the Astra van may work. Then purchase and fit the shocks. PS. it might be a good idea to jack one of youre cars wheels off the floor and disconect the shock at one end to make sure that the suspention linkage alows more movement than it currently has.
