    The Bell Law

Yesterday I was cycling along going about 20, then a granny stepped out infront of me about 5 foot away, luckily my bike was fitted with a bell, and insted of having to steering i rang my little bell, she then heard the tiny bell and in the fraction of a second before I would have plowed her down, she threw down her zimmerframe, and pulled a jetpack out of her utility belt and flew out of my way. This is a pirfect example of how bells will be usefull. Edit: Maybe instead they could just aim those green cross coad ads at the people who think cyclists are a hazard, because they obviosly don't know it if they think that. might work???

Seriously, All it takes is £1000 and 1 policy to start a political party lol. lol. At first I thought that said Tramps!!
  4. BUT MUMMY, I WANT THE BARBIE DOLL!!!! BUT I WANT IT MORE!!! Shut up you big girls, who really cares. Anyway, back to the topic, GET A ROAD BIKE and save loads of money, or just get a bike with gears.
  5. Kinda had it coming didn't they no offence to anyone but they just keep making useless products that disapoint the customer. I mean, who specks a sun ditch as the rear rim on a £1250 trials bike? I mean there good rims, I just ordered one for the front of my 24", but come on. Also regarding truvative cranks, there great cranks, but the problem is that they use a 4 arm spider, so you can't go any smaller than a 22t on the front, whick isnt anywhere near as practical as other things you could spec on a £1250 trials bike. Could easily of whacked on a cheep mech/shifter and put on a really nice crankset and rear wheel.
  6. haha, only since I sold the sus to you about a month or two ago! but shhh I won't tell anyone...... That looks pretty, well weird might wack my freeride forks into my Iolo 24" before I build it up properly and take some pics lol will have to have my QR20 26" front wheel too. haha it'll have like 100mm BB rise! (not even gunna test ride it like that though, dont wanna screw up a brand new frame!) I seem to remember seeing a picture of a levelboss fitted with 888s for a laugh ages ago?
  7. Should think that heating it would work nicely, with the alloy body having a higher expancion rate than the steel/brass olive. (think alloys higher than brass andway? I'll have a look at my college books in a while, if i can find it) edit: just not too much or you'll screw up the alloy.

I'd say go for the 4 seasons, because like you said, with a full build stuff breaks, and the 4 seasons has a much nicer frame, so would be more upgradeable when it does brake. Also because the frame has the break mounts on the seatstays you wont have to cut them off to use a sub 30t sprocket, so can still have the option of a break and a really nice gear setup, not one or the other. Edit: also worth a look and £80 ccheaper>>> Eastern Ace Of Spades Got one in a bike shop near me, there sweet as hell, and the cranks are basically just primos with a different logo on em and the rest of the kit seems amazing for the money. Internal rather than intergrated headsets a bonus too, because they prolong the frame life more, although conventional ones are still the best!
  9. The stuff about a moped giving you extra road skills seems kinda stupid to me really, I mean surely if that works then I have about 7 years road experience from riding push bikes on the roads! It's my main mode of transport atm and its not much slower than a ped if you think about it, just a bit of a bugger over the 10 miles mark, and keeping in mind this is on a 16kg 6" travel freeride bike, I'm pretty sure that if I spent a few hundred quid on a second hand road/commuting bike I could do pretty well compared to a moped, so thats always an option for you, and although road bikes aren't exactly cool, at least people wont assume you live in a council estate and are gunna progress to a vaxhall nova. Trials is awesome, just keep the money and if anything actually breaks on your bike then you've got the money to fix it, and next year you can afford the insurance on your car if it doesn't!
  10. Yeah, It was his grandads first car I think, then was passed to his dad, and now him. He's doing it up in memory of his dad, who was an absolute legend and always up for a bit of roadtripping with our bikes in there camper . So yeah, its very much a personal thing, I don't think he'd care what car it was, he'd still be restoring it. Yep, sure are the ones! And yeah, he wants to keep it as original as posible, so its gotta be a long 7 engine, not gunna be any changes there. Edit: Smo, somehow I doubt I'm gunna tell him not to bother doing up his dads old car in his memory, what did you expect from a pre-war car anyway??
  11. Well my friend Alan (Fathopper) is doing this up as a restoration project, It belonged to his dad, and is a 1934 Jowett long 7, the 7 standing for the horsepower, i think its about 800kg. the frame of the body is made from ash, while the chassis is steel. engine size is about 0.9L I think, its form the days of the horsepower tax, so has a long stroke low reving engine to get as low horsepower as posible so while 7hp sounds just stupid in a 800kg car, its preaty high torque. Tops out at about 40mph I think.
  12. Screw the house and lambo, that looks like a DeLorean on the left!!
  13. Definatly gotta agree that you wank less if you have a girlfriend, even if you arn't getting much. Its just how it works, dunno why though.
  14. Im preaty sure its illegal to put animals in the post? (sorry, someone had to say it ) But yeah, I think one of my mates is giving away some ducks if anyone wants any , I'm not joking either!
  15. erm... You scratch up your stays a little? In general if only the front wheel makes it then the bikes at too much of an angle for the disc to hit, because the tyre keeps it away. In my experience front discs are just as vulnerable as rears, because the front wheel just bounces to any angle it wants in a crash, so the rest of you're bike protects it less. however if neither wheel makes it, or you're trying to sidehop to rear wheel then its very easy to bend the disc.
  16. I've always thought that in theory shouldn't it be fine to just put mineral oil in the whole system in that case. As surely the much less corrosive mineral oil wouldn't damage the parts designed to be used with Dot fluid? Correct me if I'm wrong, I just though that kinda made sense...
  17. Definatly Phil Feeney at the moment, theres just sooo much style in that man!
  18. To be honest he can ride it on whatever bike he wants, at the end of the day, hes having loads of fun, and we get an awesome video to watch, it's a win, win situation! who cares what hes riding in the video, it looks dam good. Oh and fair play if you find it a little repetitive, but you could say the same about sex, and I don't see many people complaining about that! Awesome video by the way, anyone got a version thats downloadable? I've got all his other videos, but not this one
  19. Both good bands, I think whoever it was calling it corporate crap earlier just needs to be a little more open-minded really, just because its popular it doesn't mean that its bad??? I mean I love the chilies, I have to really being a bass player lol, but don't think I'm one of those 'brainwashed' people u said about, because I'm not, all you have to do is look through my mp3 player to find that out. for example I'm also a huge fan of Blood Brothers, fancy calling that mainstream crap? erm... 36 crazyfists as you mentioned, refused, death cab for cutie, fugazi................ And yet, i stick by that the chilies are an amazing band, they just happen to be a radio friendly sound, cant right them off just for that, they defiantly are original. Foo fighters, great band, but not quite as distinctive or original as the chilies Another example of what I mean is Radiohead. You'll have a job finding someone who hasn't heard there music, and they are played on the radio allot when new stuff is brought out, but they are without a doubt some of the most musically talented and intelligent people England or even the world has to offer in this century. Not hugely my kind of thing, but still awsum musicians Sorry, rant over, just open your eyes a little.

    Backflip Film

Yeah, sounds like a very cool video, can someone Pleeeaaassssee Upload it or something.
  21. Ahhh. Sweet, Chears! So much style! Still after PHIL FEENEY VIDS
  22. I Just had a search for more of his Videos, but most of them are sadly linked to Trials-shack, and therefore no longer work. So has anyone got this video, because my version seems to get cut off before the end. Also any videos other than edit 2-6, nass and the epic clothing promo?
  23. Haha, sweet, a vid of lab rat! nice one Nick! Is rather a good video too. He is indeed weirdly good
  24. The only difference between the front and rear ISO disc mounts is the 20mm spacing, so if you had a rear caliper designed to fit a 160mm rotor, and you put it on the front, it would fit fine, but it would need a 180mm rotor. that's all, and it obviously works the other way round. IE 180mm front = 160mm rear.
  25. I used to ride in converse all-stars, but although there incredibly comfortable, they are really slippery in the wet because the soles are quite hard compound rubber, but you can really feel the pedal well, but still with a bit of support. Now I ride in Dekline skate shoes, which are mega comfortable and have lasted really well so far, there also mega grippy with soft flat soles. Also Vans are great but the soles wear out kinda quick, and all the shoes that don't have about a foot of padding all round them have really thin soles that can hurt your feet after a while.
