  1. KMC 710, so tough yet the lock was the weakest.
  2. KMC, i was just curious about that lock link. Looks similar to thinner type of kmc chains but it snapped instead.
  3. Thanks! Well for years with these avid G3, i have no issues yet on the rotors but with broken caliper adapters. Then this means i could save $$$ and keep it for other parts to be replaced soon.
  4. Masters, I would like to get some of your opinions. I have been using avid g3 (being 2.0mm thick) since 2017 and found no issues so far. Yet time will come that this has to be changed sooner, so this came to ask for your opinions. Will hc rotors last longer than avids? for the price the difference is very obvious. If avids got more advantage, then that will save me lots of $$$, but if hc rotors have waaaayyyy better then i need to save up $$$ to buy a pair.
  5. trials amateur here but already snapped chain locks/missing links/quick links more than 3 times when I just started learning trials. Same thing happens waaaayyyy back when I was young and riding bmx. Few efforts and snapping was no longer an issue.
  6. if only I can afford this hub, this is way beyond my budget though. I am still on my modified novatec SS hubs (126 poe), waiting for signs of resignation for more than a year now.
  7. 24 for a playbike would be ok for my height. 26 felt too big, handlebars at almost shoulder in rear wheel hop position and I can't squat a lot because of the reach. I am using a 110mm stem from 132mm.
  8. my endo nose pivot 180 is somewhat horrible. I have been wanting to learn this when I was so young, yet just 2 years ago I was stoked I was able to pull some good and often awkward. Front pressure plus swing, and the head/shoulders motion do make a lot with good momentum. I am not sure how to explain properly but it worked and I am 40 years old now....
  9. if only I have extra budget for a 24 pure trials, I would love to build one...
  10. found something! Looks so identical
  11. Great! atleast got some feedback. It might last longer for me since I will build it as semi mtb and will only ride it when ever I came home from work abroad. Let's say 80% with wife and daughter and the rest for me in the whole year.
  12. I got this frame from Chinese online shop, it says STARK climbing 26. Only serial number on the BB shell. Looks capable to be a play bike...maybe, just maybe... Hope someone can identify or give some opinions on this. Thanks!
  13. my first trials bike: Echo mark 2 26" given by some nice guy. Learned basics but decided to build something all-rounder and good for my height. (5,4") built 2015 story 24 inch street trials frame last October 2018, so happy but cracked on welded parts this last March year. Current frame set, another chinese made but 4130. felt confident not to crack for many years, despite 800g heavier than the aluminum one.
  14. ever since I only do my usual practice, bit messy but did worked for me. Sand paper, dish washing soap (reliable one) and fire. I've learned this way back when doing service for some DH and Enduro bikes in Singapore. Then applied on any bike I have now, works fine so far. Anyway, will the metallic pads gives advantage of not absorbing much fluids than organic pads? I have been re-using my pads many times, everytime I accidentally spill brake fluid on those.
  15. Ben Travis can share his honest opinion on these brakes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gZ7U7MUY9Y
  16. Frame: CJBike steel parts and accessories mostly china/taiwan. Bike still holds, but the owner still suffers lower back pain 'til present.
  17. Hello everyone! I would like to gather some info and suggestions for the stem. I am 5'4 and currently using 80mm x 35 deg stem. My bike specs: wheelbase 970head tube 74bb height 15chainstay 362 (shortest 355-368 adjustable) thinking of 90mm x 35 or which is better? I like bunnyhops as well as want to learn front taps. Thanks...
  18. i might not be using the top shigura setup, deore levers + MT2 calipers. For me, the feel was sharp with modulation, even with few layers of tapes behind the brake pads. Or maybe just because I am using 203 rotor with full metallic pads.
  19. i really enjoyed these kind of riding style, not too fancy but for me very interesting....though I am too old to learn all of those...
  20. Thanks guys! I felt so Blessed to be answered by celebs....
  21. Thanks! now I got additional type of tape to try! Gorilla tape, this I haven't used yet. I have been through, 3M thin double sided tape and masking tape both works in short time (week), then duct tape which I am worried on the adhesive that scatters on the caliper and even detach on some sides after few days of riding. Great! I will hunt for gorilla tape this week.
  22. Masters! I guess this topic might have been covered in many forums but I I hope i could gather updated solutions. I am using Magura MT2 and MT4 calipers and always have this knocking sounds on the brake pads each time I land backwards or land on the edges. I did applied tape/double sided tape between pads and piston, still it worns out by time. And I have tested several pads and the noise were still there, except some were a bit less annoying than other. Thanks...
  23. i am currently and been using something like chinese made brake pads. Super cheap but gives me stopping power i never expected. Started from curiousity unitl it becomes my preffered one.
  24. After 3 years on me and maybe 5 on the first owner, my stupidity over torque wins.....hehehehe now on MT2 calipers with shimano deore levers...
