  1. Some guys from my work paid to take their bikes across to Liverpool, rode all the way down there just to hear it'd been cancelled & then had to ride all the way back in that sh1te weather. I was over watching the grand national at the weekend so i didn't hear much about the BSB, will they run double points at the final round again or will it just be scrapped off because nobody has any points yet?
  2. I didn't win any money but did manage to get right down to the finish line just in time for the big race. Spent plenty of money on ale though and got pretty loose to the live bands that were on between races. What a quality day! Can't wait for next years one so that I get the opportunity to be a spastic again.
  3. I had to take a break from trials last year after doing my back in & in that time we moved house. There's sweet F.A. to ride where we are now & it takes about 45mins to ride anywhere half decent (I ride a fair bit of XC so thats not a slow ride 45mins) We're moving back into town again soon so i'm getting excited about starting riding the trials bike again but I also started riding BMX about 2 months ago & am really psyched on that at the moment.
  4. I agree with those of you who've said bitter. Nothing beats a good pint of real ale. We used to get a beer for TT forgtnight called Fireblade. Nothing can be more manly than a beer named after a 1000cc race weapon that's decimated all competition around the worlds toughest race track...Can it? Shame it was f**king disgusting compared to some of the other ale's we get here. A good pint of St Nicks on Christmas day is always good to clear the Christmas eve hangover. Cider's not bad when the temperature outside is 1000006°C though. A few pints of old rosie mixed into a night out would sort the men from the boys.

    Petrol

It costs something like £1.10 for unleaded here on the IoM & £1.19 for superunleaded but i can't really say the price of petrol bothers me at all. As long as it's decent quality & there's enough in the pump to fill my tank then i'm happy.
  6. Sports Personality voting: 1. Joe Calzaghe 177,748 (28.19%) 2. Lewis Hamilton 122,649 (19.45%) 3. Ricky Hatton 85,280 (13.53%) 4. James Toseland 84,570 (13.41%) 5. Jason Robinson 67,061 (10.64%) 6. Paula Radcliffe 34,895 (5.53%) 7. Jonny Wilkinson 30,302 (4.81%) 8. Andy Murray 13,242 (2.1%) 9. Justin Rose 10,227 (1.62%) 10. Christine Ohuruogu 4,481 (0.71%) To52land nearly got into the top 3. I really wanted hime to win but i didn't expect him to even be in the top half. Am not a big fan of boxing but i really think Joe Calzaghe deserved that win. To go so long without being beaten is a truelly awesome acheivement. I still think it's a shame that the lesser known sports don't even get a mention. For example, David Knight has won pretty much everything that can be won on an enduro bike now afer winning the GNCC series this year but no mention at all. Same with trials riding. Team GB secured 3rd place in this years Trial des Nations & the womens team actually won the womens event but these things just seem to go unnoticed. Ah well at least JT's achievements didn't go unnoticed.
  7. Dying fly Starts with someone shouting dying fly. everyone else has to lie on their backs & act like a dying fly. Last person to do it has to down their next drink. Then it's their turn to shout dying fly. Believe me, it gets very messy. A load of lads from a football club near my house were playing it & as they were crossing the road from the bus station towards the pub (right outside police headquaters) dying fly was shouted & down they all went. Absolutely hilarious. Either that or bring the good old yard of ale glass out. What coukld possibly go wrong

    Pit Bikes

I've got a road registered pit bike with 10" road tyres fitted. It's a lifan Xpro2000 or something like that. Just fitted a new 130cc motor in it & its certainly not slow. I've overtaken a friend on a Yam DT125 on numerous occasions & its been clocked doing nearly 70mph. All i can say is they're feckin ace on the road. So much fun. I use mine every day & then i get the big supermoto out on the weekends for some real serious riding. Perfect combination.

    Court

Whiteboy, is there not a section on the letter where you can admit your guilt & reply by post. I had a letter recently (motorbike related but not for speeding) saying that i was due in court in Northwich but if i was to plead guilty i could do it by post. I did that & wrote a letter to the courts which clarified the facts of the incident (don't try to blame others or sugar coat the truth though) & it was read out to the court on my behalf. If i'd had to turn up in person it would've been a nightmare because getting off the IoM when the weather's bad is definately easier said than done.
  10. use a 140cc motor out of a pit bike. They go for about £150 on ebay and although most of them appear to be made in the cadbury's factory there are a few good ones knocking about and there's like a bazillion places that do spares for them. A big supermoto engine would take the essence out of the car. It's the shear lack of guts that makes it so funny.
  11. That Peel P50 was awesome. Pity they're so rare. I've never seen one in real life even though they used to be manufactured just down the road from me. The on that he unveiled at the end that looked like it had a bubble on top was called a Peel Trident. It's got something like a 98cc motor & its a 2 seater!!! Just some useless info for yer all
  12. out of all the ones they've released so far, I reckon the 1st one on the PS2 is the best (partly because it's the only one i've managed to complete on expert) Symphony of destruction, cowboys from hell & bark at the moon were the best ones to play on that game. Hangar 18 on the 2nd game is good. Guitar hero rocks the 80's is just a plain waste of space but the new one that's coming out looks like it should be good. It's always good to get a load of mates together with some beers and have a good old fashioned guitar off. And getting loose while playing is in the rules too.
  13. A couple of house party ones that we've recently put to the test.... - Cling film over the toilet bowl. We managed to get it absolutely perfect so that it was invisible. All i can say is i'm glad i wasn't the one that had to clear up the mess. - Blue WKD in the mouthwash. Never fails.
  14. Rear sus bollox? Giant anthem 0 is one of the best xc bikes money can buy, loads of the top boys ride it and it has rear sus bollox.
  15. you xc riders should get yourselves over here to the Isle of Man for the End 2 End challenge in september. Its a big race (expected 600 entries for 2007) from the north of the Isle of Man to the south. Caters for all abilities & finish times vary from 3hrs right the way through to nearly 7 hrs. The race was featured on sky sports in 2005 & 2006 The course changes every year but is roughly 70km long both on & offroad. I think theres more info on the Manx mountainbike clubs website www.manxmtb.org check it out.
  16. i'm waiting for a dainese back protector to arrive but i can't remember which model it was. I crushed a vertabrae in the top of my spine when my rear brake slipped a few months ago. I've only just started riding again & have got absolutely no confidence to commit to anything fully anymore. I'm hoping the back protector will give me the boost that i need & i'll let you know how i get on with it.

    Any Ideas?

I was recently informed of a product called Stan's no tubes. Looks like awesome stuff. Loads of top class XC riders have recently started using this so presumably the weight can't be too bad. Check out the video on notubes.com The guy rides over nails & sticks screwdrivers through the sidewalls of his tyres & they stay inflated. Its nothing like that crap slime stuff. I'm definately going to give it a try.
  18. what bb is it? Have you got one side out or are they both stuck?
  19. Someone at work was telling me about that article yesterday. Sound nuts. Also sounds like there'd be a beast of a punishment given to anyone that gets caught. I reckon it would be so much fun. Like riding an indoor event because of all the square edges & steps. I don't buy MCN anymore because for one reason or another i truelly hate that paper but it does sound like a good article (for once).

    Blue Or Green?

all i know is it aint pink
  21. Get in there. Glad to hear she still gets good use. There's a few riders from the isle of man on this forum, ask them about how well i had the V set up on that frame. I've got a HS33 on my new Hifi and it feels pants compared to the old XTR. Is just as powerful but not as nice.
  22. Ok thats good to hear, the old ones were aweful. Ignore my 1st post in that case.
  23. masonary cutting disk worked well for me (well it looks like its gonna work well) I never used to grind my rim until 8 weeks ago when i did a small gap off a bench & down 3 steps. Brake slipped & i spent the next day in hospital with a crushed vertabrae in the top of my spine & i still can't ride my trials bike properly. I had a go a few weeks ago but it all ended in pain so i left it. Am looking to ride properly again this weekend so i'll let you know how the grind holds up.
