Sounds like you have it all under control! Will look awesome when it's all renewed.
-
Just the bumper to go now, eh? Looks good though!
-
What exhaust manifold are you using? As far as I was aware, the normal ko4 manifold didn't fit the longitudinal engines? Obviously it bolts up correctly because the blocks are the same, but think it's either something to do with space, or how the downpipe fits? Never really heard of many people fitting ko4s to passat, could be interesting!

That site is ghastly. Put it on swapz and you'll end up being offered saxos, novas, clios etc.
-
Lol, Dann! Left is still left, wherever you sit

My mum has the 105pd version of the exact same car. It's pretty dull to drive, but it's very comfortable, and feels like you're wafting along in a barge. I did a cam belt change on hers, and have serviced it twice. The longitudinal engines are SO easy to work on!

Yup, that's the one (well...kinda, mines a copy of the Sealey). I was dubious about it managing 420nm, but as long as it will do wheel bolts, and suspension top mounts and other bits like that (crankshaft bolts would be good too!), I'll be happy. Wheel bolts were my main reason for getting it though. 5 studs are annoying!
-
Just ordered a cordless impact wrench off eBay with a max torque of 420nm. Shouldn't be many bolts that won't undo! Will come in handy for when I do my clutch and flywheel change. I also have my wheels off nearly every weekend, so should save my arms a bit. Happy that my tool collection is rapidly growing. There's not many jobs I couldn't do now!

You literally take the wiper off, then take the bootlid plastics off, and unbolt the motor. The hole is then filled with a grommet (You can get fancy glass ones which look exactly like the tinted glass already there, for about £10. I just put a rubber grommet in there, because I happened to have one to hand). Be warned though, due to the shape of the Leon's boot, the glass seems to attract crap like its going out of fashion! I drive a van the majority of the time though, so having a rear window is more of a luxury than a requirement Those are pretty cool links Robin. I've always wondered what the insides of a box look like. Its the one area on a car I've never really done any work on.

It's the way you word things. If Nick hadn't called you out on what you had said, you would have had everybody believing you had been there. The way it's written implies that you were there, and saw it with your own eyes. It also reads like you took the pictures which you then posted. I have never lied in this thread. I have no reason to. I couldn't care less what anybody thinks about my car... hence the very few pictures or videos I have of my car in here, or indeed anywhere online. As I said a long time ago, you need to remember the story of the boy who cried wolf. Once you bullshit too much, people struggle to believe a word you say... sadly you are now finding the real meaning of that. With regard to the Fabia wiper , you can get a brand new kit on ebay for £19. It's a weird combination of Fabia hatchback, and Fabia estate parts. I had one on mine, but then de-wipered it because I prefer the clean look.
-
But why make up that you were there? Doesn't make your story and more or less believeable. I don't get it.
-
I KNEW you had said it was in good condition. KNEW it! Jardo's bullshit strikes again! Why lie so much dude? You always get caught out, and it makes you look like a clown!

I did it on that Cupra I stage 2'd for my friend. Didn't even put a resistor in, and have had no fault codes in about a month. You wouldn't believe the amount of pipework and crap that comes out when you do it!
-
Had absolutely horrendous clutch slip yesterday, to the point of 5th and 6th being pretty much unusable. Cue spending hours researching what the best clutch setup is for my mods and price bracket for the rest of the day. ...I then go out today, and not even a glimpse of slip, no matter how hard I drive. Wtf?!

Are you the registered keeper? Is it on finance? Have you recently moved house? How long have you had the car? If you can answer the above questions yes, no, no, more than 2 months, I suggest you go and buy a lottery ticket, and consider yourself very very lucky!
-
Aaaaaah...forgot you hadn't been driving long. Still, to half the cost is great. Means lots of moeny for mods
-
Keep looking! I only pay under £600 for mine, all mods declared. £1400 is a bit of a joke on your car
-
It was the crownwheel bolt, 100%. Glad to see my engine was spread around, haha! Wish I'd kept it though...if I'd known I was going to have another 1.8t, it would have been perfect. Wouldn't have been my box though, that was the one that was rebuilt, and is now scrap
-
I remember him having a box that whined like a school girl in 1st, but he said mine was mint inside. Odd! Like you say though, he got a whole engine for peanuts. Guess that's the risk with gearboxes though, you never know what they are like inside until they are taken apart. I sold it to him in good faith, never thought the 200bhp (at most!) would ruin a gearbox
-
That's not what he said to me, but that's by the by. Hopefully the one built by Ben will stand a bit more of a chance! Porting sounds interesting. Although while it's off and being sent to Dan, it may as well be hybrided. I will do it one day! Rods are next on my list (after our holiday at the end of this month, and tax the next!)

Eurgh, that is really starting to grind now. You and Phil waving it around like some kind of special needs badge. Still...going ko4 when you have all the ko3 setup already, why not just get a hybrid, and save yourself the cost of the downpipe and intercooler setup? If you're going to the extent of changing turbos, go for something bigger, and do it properly. I want to join the 5-speed-loving club. I detest the 6 speed. I even looked into changing my LCR box for a 02J...but all the little bits like the shifter box and cables soon add up! Prawn being a box killer isn't always down to ham-fisted shifting. His last box (from my a3), he was really gentle with when changing gear. So much so, that I thought he had shifting issues or something when I went around Donnington Park with him, because he was shifting so slowly. Most of his problems seem to stem down to crown wheel bolts trying to make a break for freedom

...yet this one is still EXACTLY the same as the other 700 videos you post. Get one from outside or something at least a little more interesting?

I don't know the name of them I also think the offset is going to be too big a difference to make work either, so don't worry about it. Appreciate your time though
