  1. Paul Oliver (CurtisRider) is training to be a DT teacher. Might be worth grilling him?
  2. Hmmm....I think I like that. 8" fronts, 9" rears. Selling for less than I could sell my current wheels for. Hmmmmmmmm! Thanks Mike Can anybody else do it so the wheels look more normal?
  3. I need a favour please. I am crap, and need some wheels photoshopped onto my car. I only have Microsoft Paint, and a touchpad on a laptop, so its pointless me even attempting it! I need these wheels: onto this car: I appreciate the angles are all a bit wrong, but its the best/clearest pictures I have of both. I'm sure one of you clever people can help me! Warn points removed for anybody with them that helps!
  4. Of all the billions of people in the world, obviously there's going to be people that look alike. They aren't exactly stand out characters!
  5. It does soften yeah, but its still firmer than standard.
  6. Try and find what the red powerflex stuff is. That's specially made for diesels. I get a fair bit of vibration through my dogbone mount, and that's the standard yellow powerflex polybush. I bought a spare set of engine mounts with the intention of DIY polybushing them, but still haven't got round to it! 1000g (enough to do two engine mounts) works out at about £30ish.
  7. Sounds more like they forgot to do it up properly Good result though, no pennies required!
  8. Sounds like an engine mounting issue. I would guess the dogbone mount has failed (they seem fairly common to go). Other than that, it could be the downpipe touching something, but its unlikely seeing as you haven't changed the size of it. If you drive along, and keep coming off the accelerator in short sharp bursts, does it knock every time? If it is indeed a driveshaft issue (lowered cars eat cv joints!), best way to check it is to apply full lock both ways, and drive in a circle whilst listening out for noises. Clunking and clicking indicates a shagged cv joint.
  9. Why? Too many pinned topics ruin forums. Its all about discussion...not people saying "so and so thread".
  10. Because 400bhp>300bhp, RWD>FWD, 6 cylinders>4 cylinders etc etc. BUT...I do grin everytime I look at mine, and can't help but turn round and look whenever I park up and walk away.
  11. Buy it, I want a skyline or supra
  12. Shame I accidentally parked in the show and shine though. Haven't polished it for at least 8 months...never saw a trophy?!
  13. And the best bit is, I've NEVER seen another one like it!
  14. Yay! You photographed mine and made it look sexy!
  15. Same thing as the last 7 times haha!
  16. You would look so funny in an estate car. Hehehe
  17. They will need spacing out by about 20mm. If he has just used the standard bolt, they will be at quite an angle, and will look pretty dodgy. They wont snap though, they will just wear out quicker. Get a 20mm longer bolt, and 2 nuts, or as many washers as it takes to make 20mm, or anything to space it out, and refix the droplink at a better angle.
  18. We're not talking like glowing red hot discs. I can get mine up to temperature with probably 5 decent stops from 30mph. But having to know you have to do that to have awesome brakes gets a bit tedious! Nearly every performance pad you can buy will need more heat than a standard pad, its just how they work. Jardo, the only way to do it is to have DS's yourself. If you were here now, I'd let you take my car out of my garage, and go up the road and slam the brakes on, you would NOT smash your head on anything other than the hedge you had just plowed through. However, give it a few more stops, then do the same again...and you'd have whiplash from stopping so quickly.
  19. I'm off to smash my head against a wall...
  20. The optimum word being "suspect". He could have 3000bhp, it doesn't make a difference to the fact if he's doing average speeds, on average roads, OEM pads are more than up to the job. IF, however, as you say...he ends up deciding he does fancy a decent hoon, then DS2500's may be an option if he feels the are worth the extra. He asked for options and opinions. People gave options and opinions. You gave your opinion, made it sound like fact, then cried when you got shot down and proven wrong...just like always. There are at least two people on this thread who have had OEM pads, AND DS2500's. Both of them are saying the DS2500's aren't as good when cold as the OEM pads. Its hardly rocket science to understand that. Why don't you go and do the test, and post up the results. Then you'll see yourself. ...and while you're at it, fit racing slicks to your car. They offer far improved grip over standard tyres
