  1. The Neuspeed one I've recently bought is the only one I've seen that mounts in a way that doesn't look like it was developed on a farm! The bushes are properly encased in like a springy folded bit of steel which follows the contours of the rear beam exactly. It hooks onto one bit of the beam, and locks onto the top with a clamp bit; feels much more secure. In Leon related news; my MAF seems to be dead (according to the ESP and engine management lights anyway). Its not driving any differently though, which is weird. Will fault scan it tomorrow and see whats up.
  2. Ah, makes sense now! Couldn't think of a single 24mm bolt on the whole car! Bet it feels better with the quick rack. Epic fail on the toe though!
  3. What did you need a 24mm spanner for?
  4. Meh, fixing it mean £££ for me I've told him it could be anywhere in between 230 and 250, but to aim for 230, and anything above that is a bonus. To be fair, for a ko3s car, which is only on an unknown stage 1 map at the minute, it goes pretty well. I'm hoping a stage 2 Rtech job will change it completely. Its fun to drive at the minute, but it just doesn't have as much oomph as my ko4...and runs out of steam a lot quicker. Think I prefer the exhaust noise though, its not as hairdrier like, and is a lot more poppy!
  5. I'm deliberating getting rods for mine, then I can have poppy-bangy shizzle. Works out to £500 ish...and you get a cambelt kit too (mine needs changing reasonabley soon anyway), so I guess it makes sense. Going to RTech on 1st June with the guy who's Leon I did all the mods on. Hoping for 240ish. Its pretty much the same spec and mileage of yours Jardo, apart from it has the new SFS oversize TIP on it. When we're at RTech, I'll speak to Niki, and see what he can do for me. When I went to Donnington Park with Prawn, I spent the whole day with him, and he said he would do me a deal Today's job is to fit my new R32 front anti roll bar to mine. I fitted my new 28mm rear bar last week, but ran out of time to do the front, and didn't dare drive it with just a (reasonably huge) rear bar!
  6. 70k is NOTHING! Do it! You won't get anything less in your budget.
  7. Oh good lord how me and Liam did NOT laugh! Those windows were a joke. They were far far lighter than the glass they replaced, but ventilation was somewhat reduced (to virtually zero), so like Nick says; we suffered a bit, haha! I'd have to agree with what he's said though, having been there, and got the (wet) t-shirt. I would never strip a car out to the same extent that I did with the Audi, if it were anything but a trailer queen. The difference in weight just isn't worth it for the inconvenience it causes. Here is a list of easy situations made difficult by stripping it out too much: Rain Snow Wind Multi-storey carparks Fast food drive-thrus Toll roads Sun Washing the car Looking around at junctions Hearing ANYTHING Comfort Looking cool Shopping Taking friends out Plus, many many more! ...don't do it!
  8. There's no such thing as an "instant ban", correct.
  9. There's no "set" punishment, although there are guidelines for sentancing. Good mitigation (such as needing a license for work, doing shopping for elderly relatives, transporting ill wife, etc etc (has to affect other people though...punishment is MEANT to affect the offender!) can change license revoking points into a (relatively) short ban. Depends on the judge on the day though. Best advice always seems to be to turn up in a suit, looking smart and showing remorse, and just appealing to their better nature basically.
  10. Go on www.forums.pepipoo.com. Its a really really useful site for situations such as this. Worth signing up and telling them exactly what you have just told us. They will tell you to come back when you have the NIP, and write the exact details. Good luck!
  11. Will be too late...it can see you before you can see it (they can work up to 1km away). You had just better hope they were only setting up or had just packed away. You might get "lucky" and only get 6 points and a big fine (providing you have been driving more than two years). If not, you'll have to wave goodbye to your license I'm afraid
  12. Got caught up in a race with an Evo 6 and an Evo 8. Came out triumphant, much to their disgust! Winner
  13. Nah, hate black wheels with a passion.
  14. The drop links are right, yes, but the bush is the wrong size...you want 19mm. Remember you need a 20mm spacer (and a longer bolt) to push the drop links out to the correct angle.
  15. 22mm Had one on my Audi, along with the adjustable 24mm rear. They were a nice combo.
  16. Eibach bars are still the hooped design, so with enough of a drop they could still rub. You don't really want to go any bigger on the front (unless you add a rear bar too), because it will just make it more understeery. LCR bars can be had for about £40...how much is the Eibach one?
  17. There were mesaurements on the ebay page. I took a rough measurement if the lights, and it was more or less the same...so I ordered them. I like to call it an educated guess
  18. I couldn't really answer that. I just put it in, and it works, haha. Think the retrofit ones are a fairly standard size across the range though. All the bezels seem to be 2.5"...so the actual glass must be the same size. With regards to the ARB question...tt or lcr is what you want. R32 will fit physically, but is 23mm instead of 19mm, so will upset the balance unless a rear bar is added too. Whiteline also make a bar that goes under the driveshafts.
  19. I'd LOVE grids...but they are just SO expensive! Looknig at around £900 with tyres
  20. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINI-BIXENON-HID-H1-PROJECTOR-CHROME-SHROUDS-LHD-RHD-/251180119648?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7b807660 That's the exact kit I got. It was £62...not £30, my bad. WELL worth that though. Bi-xenons are incredible! You can get several different lenses though, as you already have projectors, it will probably be cheaper for you to buy just a lense. There are several different types though, so kinda depends how yours mount.
  21. Not unless you're going to get projector lenses, no. HID's in standard Leon lights are a big no no. The lights aren't designed for the type of light the HID bulb gives out, and as such, you end up with a totally retarded beam pattern. I fitted retrofit bi-xenon projectors to mine (they were about £30 shipped from Hong Kong from memory). ALWAYS get comments about how good they look, and how much light they give out. They are probably my favourite mod I have done to the car (and as far as I know, I am the only person in the UK to have fitted this type of lense to a Leon). To non-petrolheads, they look factory enough to be standard, but to people in the know, they look good enough to question what they are!
  22. Wow...good effort there Alan, thanks! Have to admit it though Tom, you are right...they look a bit plain. I want something a bit wider on the back...8J just isn't doing it for me
  23. LED ones are legal, but look stupid unless you have HID's...which you don't; so I'd just stick to "normal" bulbs. You can get ones with a bluish tint to them...all depends what bulbs you're running though.
