  1. How the sim rig sits now, although I carpeted the base today. I was going to wait until it's painted and whatnot but the weather is stopping me getting that done. Screen's too small, and too lonely, but it's awesome to run iRacing in. Obviously I'll sort all the cable management and stuff when it's finished.
  2. Last I checked there was a way to watch buy access to individual races on the MotoGP website. Not sure about less 'correct' ways.
  3. Ah, memories. This is one of the reasons I slowly built my own CMS from the ground up – this way it only has what I need and there's no-one else's upgrade schedule to worry about. It's certainly not fit for anyone else's use, but it was born out of the frustration you're feeling. Out of interest, what are you moving from and to?
  4. Know the feeling Mike, that recent purchase of a reliable car was one of the best decisions I've ever been forced into!
  5. So, does this game matter? Either way, I'm watching. Annoyingly I'm going to miss the final after 6 years waiting. Mainly because England aren't in it, but also because I didn't have a wife 6 years ago and she's making me go to a Halloween party.

    Films!?

It's so tough to pick a favourite Bond film, but both Casino Royale and Spectre would be in my top 3 right now – even thought they're nothing alike.
  7. I never said you were confronting, I said we/I weren't. Sorry for thinking that a reply about the conversation being had in the previous five posts might refer to that conversation, which you'd been a part of previously. How silly of me...
  8. One out of three responses alluded to, but didn't use the words, 'man up' and that's the one you chose to focus on? The other two focussed on the fact that we as individuals quite enjoy the wet bit. Y'know, conversing rather than confronting.
  9. Physical exertion in the rain is probably my favourite. Trials is the exception to that for me, but running or XC riding or whatever is great in the rain. It's definitely all about having the right kit. If you don't have the right kit, just get to saturation point as quickly as possible – you can't get any wetter then, and your skin is waterproof. After that your only problem is staying warm, which means going faster
  10. Did you go to a track or something Jardo? Why didn't you mention it?

    Deep Water

Mental. Is your masters in CGI? It's becoming the only logical explanation.

    Spectre. Go see it.
  13. f**k Android. In other news, my G27 wheel turned up over the weekend. Annoyingly it didn't work properly and it was from the US so I had to take it apart to see if I could fix it rather than bear the costs of returning it. I had to take it apart and reassemble three times, but in the end I fixed it so that's all good. Then these plans turned up this morning... Don't think I'll get any time this week to make a start but hopefully this weekend I'll be able to give it a go.
  14. Ah yea, I'd forgotten you were sending them back there in the space of two replies!
  15. If they're that cheap and you're going to replace them, you might as well whip them apart and have a look. Forks aren't as scary as they seem before you do it the first time. Service manual link
  16. How long has it been? I just had an item shipped to me through GSP from America and it took a fair while to get through.
  17. That looks far too clean to be drifting...
  18. It's a little more than that, but yeah. If you run off the soundcard then you're literally sending sound to the shakers. If you run off a different soundcard then you can use a thing called SimVibe to translate the actual physics data in the sim to soundwaves so that you're sending feeling rather than sound. All way above my head, but as long as it works I don't care!
  19. Yea, I got lazy and ordered DIY plans so that I don't waste any time on getting it wrong. I'll be building this as soon as they turn up. I've got a couple of mods in mind for it already, but it allows me to get going properly. I'll also be able to add things like bass shakers in time to add to the immersion, because I won't be able to bother with a full motion sim for a few years. Plan is to use some high powered bass shakers and separate the whole rig from the floor on a layer of tennis balls so that it allows as much movement as possible. V1 will be static though
  20. Nope, wooden floor and uncomfortable stool... Not for long
  21. As I mentioned earlier I ordered a new wheel and pedals setup last week for my sim racing. In the mean time I ordered another pedal set as an upgrade to the ones I hadn't received yet, because they have a more realistic brake feel. Got them today and can't actually use it without pushing my chair back. Good job I'm planning to build a permanent rig this weekend...
  22. Keep that bullshit in its own thread, yea? No, I won't bother explaining why it's bullshit, you already know because you're not a complete moron, I'm sure.
  23. I can see where you're coming from, but that's a bit of an extreme. Surely 'quitting' for as long as you've smoked would count? Main which case, I only have about 15 and a half years to go. Can I say I've quit when I'm 44?
  24. It's literally the only page I use to navigate the site, and has been for as long as I remember. Great way of finding the new bits, obviously.
