  1. haha, i was only mucking about - but if you ever get bored of the wings you know you'll be able to turn it into a portrait and at least one person wont be able to tell
  2. good points well made. I still personally feel you will be better off with something built to your specs, and that you will regret that by buying a full bike. Can I ask why front suspension is important to you at this price range? You could get something much better by sticking to a rigid setup and riding smoooooth.
  3. now that you've said that, it almost looks like you've got a faceless picture of her on your back in your avatar? Then again, I have very bad eyesight.
  4. sorry to say but unless you're 8 foot tall, that's not 6 foot. Impressive none the less
  5. why not just order all the parts of something which will actually suit your needs (The TA26) and take them to your local shop and get them to build it up for about £30? This way you'll have a bike which is great value for money, and does what you actually want it to do. Surely there's no point in asking for advice if you're not going to take any notice of it?

    Signitures

mine totally does. if people didn't know about the album how could they completely ignore it?
  7. yea, i meant at any given moment in time - didn't make that clear in the first one. Like my astra will tell me live (well, every second or so) what MPG i'm doing, and obviously if i'm ragging it it goes down to about 5, or i can make it sit at just below 50. It's quite a handy feature to have if you're skint!
  8. am i being silly in thinking that by using the fuel/air mixture, fuel pressure, and revs you could work out the mpg? I know it's not worth doing, i just meant theoretically. And seeing that datalog would be pretty good anyway - because I'm a geek.
  9. thats not bandwidth... and i don't know what you're planning on hosting, but I've never had a problem with it.
  10. what's a holiday? fabric softener?
  11. I just logged into an old email address, and had an offer from a company I used to use (who were very reliable). Hosting with them was £20, but they've sent me a re-usable and distributable voucher code which gets you £5 off, which is pretty handy. Voucher Code: JULY15D www.web-mania.com sorted.
  12. Extreme_biker0: all that is besides the point. This guy has agreed at the time of hire that the price is a fair one by going ahead with the transaction, so anything that happens after that is null and void. Matt: If there was no contractual agreeement then you can safely not pay, but morally you should definately at least meet him half way.
  13. Why do that? Why not leave your question, then edit with the solution so people can search on it later?
  14. work involves sitting around all day, so it's hardly like i was worn out before i started! haha. plus i was only running like 8.5 min miles, and i need to get that down to 7s to get under 3 hours and next years marathon - long way to go...
  15. i'm mainly going to be sitting around here trying not to let my lungs explode. just got in from a 20 mile run after work - only planned to go out for 5 or so when i left... what a stupid idea.
  16. welcome nev, but first lesson is to disassociate yourself with chubbs i'm sure with the strength that comes with a certain amount of age you'll pick it up in no time!
  17. pretty certain that one of my old bands - violet high - played with you guys back in the day... this would have been about 3/4 years ago? Either way, good pics man.
  18. i haven't been in NMC for a while... i do like a little giggle now and again.

    Iow Or I.o.w?

I know what you mean, but I was talking about the actual content of the website, not the website address itself. annoyingly, i think that's as close to a win as I'll get. Luckily, instead of worrying about it, I'll just get a few mates to ring up, say they saw the advert and would like some more info. Then at least she'll be happy that she got something from it and give me more money... haha.

    Iow Or I.o.w?

yea, what i mean is dots or no dots, the whole ad was in capitals anyway..

    Iow Or I.o.w?

in theory yes, but their argument is that the isle of wight website uses "IOW", so surely that's the "correct" way?

    Iow Or I.o.w?

This is a petty little debate with a client who's differing in opinion to me. Isle of Wight, what do you abbreviate it to?
  23. i've seen it at £4.99 a year, but wouldn't spend less than about £20 at the moment. I'll see whether I can did out the dirt cheap place if you want, but it was only a quick google for cheap hosting.

    Web Part?

Your best bet is to have a look round for some good ASP tutorials. You obviously need to decide what you want to make, why it's going to be a good idea and why the world needs it. Then learning how to build it is the easy bit. ASP - in case you didn't know - is just a server side language which is used to generate dynamic web content from a database on the server. PHP (i.e. the language which is making the page your looking at now) is another example, and the one which I prefer.
  25. at no point did I say i didnt agree with you, but with someone who is clearly quite sensitive about the issue, maybe it's not best to do the "laddish" stuff as it just sounds a bit harsh. To be fair I can't think of a better way to put it though..
