  1. I have a Hope Pro 2 front hub, I got the 15mm axle option, bought some alloy bar off ebay, turned it down to 15mm and tapped it to take M10 bolts (same as hope hubs) so now I have a hope front disk hub that takes 8mm bolts
  2. they were screwed in as normal, but the tolerances were not amazing and when the spokes were tightened it stretched the flange (like all hubs) which loosened the fit of the ratchet and sometimes allowed them to strip.
  3. Mark Webb can go and suck a fart, every time I see his face I want to give it a good hard punch! It's one of those faces you could never really punch hard enough. to add something good to the topic, this guy right here \/
  4. I've yet to snap a Sapin spoke, snapped a couple of DT in the past from hitting them on rocks, Sapin seem to put up with abuse a little better from my experience. Also as said, cheaper, lighter and in my eyes, stronger...bit of a no brainer really.
  5. yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay
  6. as a wheel builder as my trade, I can't help but call you out for not having the Hope logo showing when looking down the valve hole Should be a good strong combo, I build Hope hubs onto Atomlab rims very often and those rims are extremely stiff.
  7. Don't think I can trust the opinion of anyone who thinks the Hot S was a grippy tyre They were awful! Another vote on Try-all, so what if they wear out sooner, even a worn out one is still grippier than tyres meant for XC, they are a decent weight too. Cutting a tyre isn't a bad thing either, the comparison to grinding a rim was a good one.
  8. getting muddy is all part of th fun However, mud in the eyes isn't fun at all. The innertube ziptied from the crown to the arch seem to stop the mud from flying up and into your face, so I would say try that.
  9. very good! Brakeless is amazing and more people should do it, you are proof that you can pretty much do most tgs stuff without them plus other bmxy things too. I do hate you though! I had that Leeds line from the wall into the slope in my google maps video riding spots list, now I can't film it
  10. I don't mind if people wear a helmet or not, I don't always but I usually do if I am trying new stuff where the chances of completely messing up is high, or if I am riding rocks.
  11. it's impossible for nitromorse to damage threads. nitromorse gets rid of paint, powdercoat is a type of paint.
  12. if you get your frame blasted, put some spare bolts and bb in the frame to protect the threads.
  13. Best song ever made? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGXeXm0uMDo
  14. I (did) have a less complicated version where I just cut off the threaded section of an Inspired topcap, threaded that so half the threads were in my forks and half were sticking out the top (loctited in) and then used a small section of fork that had been cut off another pair and screwed that onto the exposed thread. worked great! I extended it by about 10mm and never had any issues.
  15. didn't think I needed to
  16. after a quick google, those do seem to be District bars, they also seem to be the 2009 model, 3 years is old for any bars let alone ones put up to street use. I wouldn't use one photo as a reason not to get bars, I still think they are the best steel bars out there. I also still highly recommend Inspired and Trialtech bars, they are well worth a look if you want strength.
  17. those look like the alloy Ns bars (Mint?). Alloy bars with a 25.4 clamp never strike as much confidence in me, 31.8 all the way! 22.2 is fine in steel though, the NS district bars seem the best out there at the moment. I have only ever snapped one pair of bars, they were old Azonic world Force bars and I snapped them doing an 8ft drop, I got out of it fine, didn't even fall over. I really don't see the need to get 700g Funn bars, I never snapped my 330g Inspired bars and that was regularly doing 12ft drops.
  18. you buy forks with the correct mounts. 24" and 26" trials forks are the same, the only difference is where the mounts are welded.

Sheffield isn't even that great compared with other places in the UK Oh that quarry is Trowbarrow Quarry.
  20. 24" trials bikes use 26" forks anyway, as it says in the description it just has a 26" front wheel. Strange and pointless, but whatchagonnadooo?
  21. repost, are you going to teach your kids to ride Dave?
