  1. I am with ben.... I tend not to worry myself about all the differnent styles. One day I like to ride streety, go off to the skatepark etc one day I might fancy riding rocks (most days ) one day I might fancy trying big taps and sidehops one day I mig..........well, you get the idea Like I said, dont worry yourself about what or how you ride, as long as you are riding its cool.
  2. I made one out of two broom handles for the uprights, just two pieces nailed together as a cross (X) on the bottom to make them stand (weight them down too, makes it more stable) I then measured (from the floor) and marked every half inch, then I drilled holes in the marks so I could put a nail in which ever I fancied. I used a small piece of bamboo as the actual bar, but it tended to flex and snap if you landed on it. You could use tape as said above but I doubt it would last long, or maybe a piece of string with small weights on the end hung over the nails, that would keep it perfectly level. Look around your house, you'll find somthing suitable.
  3. hi folks I dont normally ask which parts to buy as I tend to know what I like and like what I know. This time is different though. I am upgrading (or downgrading) to normal 25.4mm clamp bar and stem as it will flex more and hopfully reduce a bit of the arm pump I get. I am gonna get some azonic bars as I like their shape, I am aware they are a bit unreliable, but I will probably get a new set every other year or so. I am stuck on what stem to get though.....I have a few features I would like to have on it, but its not set in stone, low steerer hight no pinch bolts on back of steerer 4 bolt front clamp 100mm length 5-10 degree rise black strong cheap and lightish Again I would like those features but I can bend a little. I have been looking at: fsa xc170 race face evolve II race face prodigy II thompson elite I have been looking at the above stems, non of them have all the features...its a hard choice I know most people will say thopmson, but they are exspensive, are they really worth the extra honey? any other stems that meet my needs? cheers humble trials folk Ps this was meant to be a poll, but I cant work out how to do it
  4. I put the smiley face there to show I wasnt being 100% serious But I seriously do hate high bbs!!!
  5. I also went on trial noirs bike and thought it was shit (no offence ash) I just REALLY hate high bbs, they make the bike more nervous than a geko in a microwave. Put you off balence easily, make the bike ride like shit on both wheels, make it like a pogo stick ont he rear wheel, nasty nasty. People are too obsessed with how bikes handle on the rear wheel I recken, there is no point sacrificing how a bike rides just so its nice on the rear, there is more to trials than hopping on the back wheel you know!! These high bb bikes are too good on the back wheel too, its just like buying a £300 pogostick, wanna get better on the back wheel? THEN GO OUT AND PRACTISE YOU LAZY SODS!!!
  6. I would get the A2, it is still nasty as it has a high bb, but at least it has longer chainstays, wont be as twitchy as the A1.
  7. f I ever rode mod I would most definatley have a monty, they are the only mods that I actually like the feel of. I wont go into detail as I am off to work in a min, but I also think there is no point in long mods, you lose all the advantages that a short bike gives but dont really gain many advantages that longer bikes give.
  8. I could well be interested in a 24" frame, but I would MUCH prefer it to be steel......is it possible to have a steel one? This is only an idea though, as things are now I wont be able to afford one even at his sort of prices!
  9. I have been wanting some cnc backings for a while now, hopfully after chrimbo I can afford to get some, I'll ask for the red pads too
  10. I was a wildlife nut, wanted to be like david attenborough.
  11. 1) random drunk person in scotland handing out £300 to a few of us who were riding...I got £20 , joe oakly got £60!! 2) Tim stedman going for a hook on a big box but hitting his front wheel on the way up sending him over the bars....Luckily he saved himself with his hands but he ended up in such a funny position, still makes me laugh thinking about it (can be seen on the bangor vid) there are probably loads including iolo, but I cant think of them now
  12. update........... I HATE hate hate HATe haTE hate HATE being kicked off places, I hate it so much that I wont ride anywhere where I know I will get kicked off, it just makes me feel really bad.
  13. I am suprised with all the people saying zoo............I REALLY hate their stuff, the WORST mod ever!!!! and now a big ugly nast high bb stock I also really HATE brisa, frames rode worse than peice of ear wax and were about as strong.
  14. I agree totally I recken if they put out lots of vids like the zoo riders do then their style would be more widly used, but they didnt. The fact that craig's and neil's vids are viewd by lots seems to make everyone focus on that style, seeing ashton and akkers riding is like a breath of stylish air, completley different to what we are used to seeing, maybe being on forums is a bad thing, we need to stop watching vids and get our own styles and our own moves.........maybe.
  15. I trust echo parts but I like "proper" biking companies like easton or raceface.

    Goodridge

goodridge hose on maggies sucks more than a new born on its mums tits, but you already knew that didnt you
  17. I wouldnt wear one I'd rather get a cold head and wear a helmet. If you cant stand a cold head, then a Buff is your best friend, best headwear item ever, nice and thin so it can easily go under a helmet but dam warm.
  18. a ghost cog is where you dont have any hanger or mech, you set your chain to the shortest you can get it and then find a cog (cassettte cog etc) and stuff it between the chain along the chainstays. It keeps the tension and stays put.....well, some of the time. They have a habbit of comming out and hurting you, thsts why they arn't so popular.
  19. I seriously CANT STAND the feel of the 05 ones, I would rather hold on to brocken glass than use on of those levers as standard. Also the 05 ones are weak, seriously weak, you can snap them in half just by pulling them (ask Iolo) Also I think the 04 ones generate more power (longer lever blade perhaps?) again ask Iolo, after he pulled his 05 lever in half he put his old 04 lever on and he was blown away with the extra power he had.
  20. all the young riders getting better than me winds me up lol narr, seriously: Arm pump!!! Bloody thing stops me getting decent results at comps shit videos people slagging each other off on forums for no decent reason (control your self!!) not much else pisses me off, that why I love trials
