I'm quite into graphic novel adaptations (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, 300 etc) and I recently watched Batman the Dark Knight Returns and I thought it was ace. It's animated but don't let that put you off. The story is as good or better than the Batman films that have been made and it's no children's cartoon as it's violent and the Joker is actually stone cold murdering people in it (he's great in it). I've got to read the novel now, it looks pretty epic.

I've no idea which I had but they were nothing special and had pretty flimsy sidewalls. I'd say the Conti are definitely the best 24" tyre on the market, but the best comes at a price unfortunately

I've had comp threes before, I'd never consider using them again I'd say it feels not much like a park bike, MTBs seem to think slacker head angles are the best and as a result I've never ridden one that felt good. I'd say the Arcade is very trialsy due to the short back end but more aggressive and better on the front wheel because of the steeper head angle.

I'm not sure to be honest, roughly 11-12kg at a guess. I'm not getting rid of these tyres, they're too good

It's mainly a weight thing. I used to run bmx cranks but as my riding developed I've found I've had to make my bike heavier and heavier to cope (heavier brakes with bigger rotors, Hope rear hubs, heavier tyres etc ) and having steel cranks just felt a bit OTT and I wanted to claim some of the weight back that I'd gained and swapping cranks was an easy way to do it.

There's a couple of differences, different yolks and a slightly longer headtube, more details are in the link I posted

Inspired just released info on the new updated Arcade frame ( seen here http://www.inspiredbicycles.com/inspired_arcade_bike_p76.php ) So I thought I'd pop out and get some pics of my bike in the sun. I'm super happy with how the paints come out, I really like black bikes but I have a soft spot for red bikes too, this is a cool "best of both" colour which really stands out in the sun. I'm using a selection of parts from sponsors so the spec is slightly different from standard. I'm super happy with how it rides and these MT7 brakes are the most powerful I've used! Should have some nice Hope cranks to replace my tatty ones soon

I run just over 40psi, I think Danny is at over 50

I did, but to be fair my backwheel hit the corner from the vertical to slope transition really hard Plus I wasn't trying to hook it, I was trying to bunny tap it to back wheel I had a pair of Oddyssey tyres, I think they're around a kilo each (deffo over 900g). I liked them on my brakeless bike as they have quite a numb feeling which I found good for softening landings with no brakes but I found them too lifeless on my braked bike, I had to drop the pressure down but then they folded more.

Front end of Jane's bike is coming along, I just built the front wheel. I was going to have it painted pink (as I was going to buy a second hand rear rim and it was the easiest way to get them to match) but in the end I've decided to just buy another of the same rim (Kore Mega) as they're pretty cheap on CR and painted rims would scratch and mark with tyre changes. Frame is off to the painters within the next few days then I can get it all built up

I bought a set of those to try, waaay too fat!
-
I had the hardest ones but I found them too harsh on landings for my old man wrists

I think you won't find any lock on grips that suit you mark, I'm not as anal for super thin grips as you and I still find lock on a bit too fat and the thinnest ones are super harsh too (very little dampening) plus you'll wear through them in a few weeks. I think you need a fresh set of push on grips and give your bars a good clean, they'll stick way better than your worn stretched ones. Get yourself a set of sensus, renthals or something You'll hate road tape too, I tried it recently and it's comfy but a hassle and it's easily ripped, you can get it pretty thin but it was so soft I just pressed through it and I could feel the bars underneath, felt a bit gash (bit like those cheap Halfords foam grips)

Exactly the way I want to ride my bike but my skills aren't as good, that was really really cool!

GF just bossed an interview at a private gym to run her remedial therapy from a room they have, so happy for her as it's the most ideal place, close to the city, good flexible rent, similar work ethics to the owners (who she's trained with before), free access to the gym and a good supply of clients. She's on the last part of getting her business running and if she wants she can leave her job as a biomedical scientist which she hates with a passion and she'll earn three times more money for half the hours

that balance!

I'm far from perfect but threatening people with rocks? If it's the thing I'm thinking of then that rocks just a figment of someone's imagination.

Ah Hi Matt, I remember that rumour of me and the brick....don't believe everything you hear.
-
that was sweet! Lots of different stuff in there. He's got a keen eye for cool lines. A few less correction/setup hops would make it a touch smoother but that's just picking bones.

most chilled edit ever, loved it!

why would you go for that suspension design? I would have thought a simple single pivot ideally around the bb so the chain length doesn't change would be better. As silly as a sus frame sounds I think it could be a potential good idea, certainly something that needs exploring even if it ends up being scrapped, if you don't try stuff then things get stagnant. Dam, Adam beat me to it

what was the song Joel?

I remember when 2kg was normal, wish my frame weighed that little haha
