    Help

That is the way to do it... i did my maggie bolt like that after rounding it completely. I used an angle grinder though because i'm too impatient to file it. And if you have some use them mole grip things to clamp onto both of the flat sides of the bolt, they'll hold it much tighter than a spanner will so you'll be able to twist it even more. I'm still running my bolt like that after doing it about a month ago. These are mole grips if you don't know what they are
  2. Yeah pretty much, You'll need the lockring tool unless you want to hit it round with a screwdriver and hammer but you can get away without needing the chainwhip as you can just use a piece of old chain and warp it round your foot then put it over the cassette cogs. Put some weight on your foot and use the lockring tool and the chain will hold the cassette in place. Be warned though the chain does tighten around your foot more than you would expect so just keep your body weight on it and you'll be fine. But you will need the lockring tool.
  3. A shogun gatecrasher 1 that i kitted out with trials parts. Horrible thing it was Its nice for dirt jumping though
  4. 26" Ronnie rim Medium grind 2004 maggie, water bled I can whack the material into cnc'd backings and let you know what its like in them if you're nice enough to choose me. Riding level is competant enough to be able to test brake pads, 7+foot gaps, 42"+ taps etc and i've had CRM's, Rimjams (in normal backings), Heatsinks, Planet X Sticky pads, Koxx yellows, cousts etc. so i have soemthing to base my opinion on. And most importantly i can write properly so i can give you an in depth analysis of what the pads are like and how they fair up to riding. I don't like the way i'm seemingly scrounging for pads though... too cheeky for me I can make a video no problemo as well... though by the looks of the replies so far i doubt you'll need to wait till the 5th before choosing
  5. If you're wanting to learn how to bounce on the back wheel then your most likely gonna have to do it the same way 90% of riders first manage it and start with the backhops. You need to ride along at walking speed and pull the front brake to do a nose endo (lift the back wheel off the floor), do this just enough to get your rear wheel of the floor but not enough to flick you over the bars. This will help give you enough momentum to get on the back wheel. As you start to fall back down and your rear wheel hits the floor you want to lean back and pull the bars towards you. It helps to keep your elbows slightly bent as having them straight can lead to shoulder and lower back pains. You will feel the bike start to reach its balance point as the front wheel lifts higher and this is about the point you want to be getting comfortable with in order to hop without falling everywhere. Its also helpful to pull the bike right up and past the balance point in order to get yourself used to how far you can go with it and to remove any worries about falling off the back of the bike, you'll find you can literally just step off So basically as you're at the balance point just jump with your legs... its not really important to do anything with your arms so long as you manage to get the back wheel off the floor, and like i said all it really requires is for you to jump a little bit in the air using your legs... the bike will follow you up. You'll most likely also find that when you're first starting this your hops will be quite big and fairly uncontrolled but stick with it and eventually, with practice, it'll become second nature and you won't even have to think about doing it. Once you've got the backhops sorted you'll need to focus on getting pedal hops learnt.. these are pretty much the most essential move in trials so will open up many different things when you get them done. This is practically the same as the backhop only as you're hopping on the rear wheel you want to lower the front wheel a bit and simultaneously pull the bars towards you, let go of the brake and stamp on the peddles with little jump to help with the forward motion. Don't forget to pull the brake again before the rear wheel hits the floor or you might be walking home with a sore arse cheek after falling off the bike. Sorry about it being such a monstrous post but i'm pretty sure it'll help and i hope it was what you were after.
  6. I hated the t-raptors when i had a go on them, they just weren't the right kind of bike for me... however chris akrigg rode one for a while and seemed to do perfectly well on it so it could just be i'm too fussy.
  7. What an idiot... karma sorted him out good and proper!
  8. Either thats fake or the guy has some very uncontrolable shaky hand syndrome... plus they could just say that spec on the video... doesn't mean it actually is
  9. Water is not a mix with oxygen, water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen that are chemically bonded together. It will not lead to air bubbles because water does not break down into air when you shake it in a sealed container. Try it, get a test tube, fill it with water and stick a rubber bung in the top and shake it as much as you want. There will be no air in there before you start shaking and because there is no room for the water to splash around in there so there will be no air bubbles when you finish shaking it. You think magura's were supposed to have oil in them so you can't use anything else, well they were supposed to use the magura boosters and black, green, kool stop pads etc and i'm pretty sure that you won't be running anything as bad as kool stop pads. Just because something is designed to be used one way doesn't mean there isn't a potentially much better way of doing it.
  10. I agree, theres plenty of us riders in leicester and loughborough and we go riding with each other very often indeed, like at least once a week. You'd be welcomed with open arms justin!
  11. The scroll bar thing is slightly annoying in that it moves so damn slowly, its also a bit plain without you having any pictures on there at all, its just text and moving coloured bits. Where i'm guessing it says "riding pictures" as one of the links all i see is "riding picture" and half of the E is missing too. Other than that i quite like the simple layout and the ease of use with it. Just wait till simon gets here though!
  12. You can set up the windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the laptop and your new desktop so the laptop connects to the internet and the desktop connects to the internet via the laptop, but this is a bit sketchy as it doesn't always work. Its also pretty much uselss as the laptop needs to be on for the desktop to access the internet so you may as well just use the laptop. I think you are going to have to fork out on a new wireless card. Or put the router in the same room as your desktop computer and run the cable from that. I have mine so that theres a cable running under the carpet from my mum and dads telephone socket to my room, then the router is wired to my pc and the laptop is wireless... it gets a decent signal in the opposite corner of the house and is still usable for accessing the internet out in the garden about 30 metres away.
  13. It doesn't really, pures looked like this ben. [attachmentid=5007] ^ courtesy of andy green Hows it ride with a 24" front wheel steve?
  14. Awesome, i can critisize you.. nobhead Only messing, i think you, snappel and boumsong make threads worth reading.. its great looking through a thread and seeing some random comment from you! I also like simons posts when he critisizes people, though i don't know whether his are intended to be sarcastic or not EDIT: forgot davetrials.. his posts usually make me crease as well
  15. Ha ha stupid me. Try to get rid of the edges of your picture around the front wheel.. it literally does look like you've cut it out and stuck it on... try using a mixture of cutting the picture neater and using the smudge and blur tools to try and hide the edges. Of course i want your babies boumsong.. you shouldn't need to ask!
  16. Drop the front wheel a bit more and pull on the bars to propell yourself forwards whilst jumping up as high as you can. This pulling on the bars like a crazy man should help get you another foot if you can get the timing right... but that needs trial and error really so just keep at it.
  17. Yeah its most likely broken. You'll need to do a tpa bodge on it, for an 04 just get the broken bit out of the lever and stick a bolt in there. Theres plenty of guides on here so use the search
  18. I actually quite like it, and in greece they usually mix it with chilled water.. like almost ice kind of temperature to give it a softer flavour. Be a man though and drink it neat. Its not licorice tasting like someone said... its aniseed.

    Chav Scum!

If theres a group of them together but just one of them that started it your best to walk straight up to him ignoring the others and ask him what the f**k he thinks he's doing and just twat him one. I've seen the same kind of thing with my mate and because he didn't seem to give a shit that the other chavs were there nothing happened to him, everytime they saw him they'd shout something to him but as soon as he walked over to them they shut up completely and even apologised for shouting at him. This was with just him against 10 or so of them . If they were older/harder than you though i would probably advise against doing this and just calmly walk away. If you run your just asking for them to do something else to see if they can make you run faster.
  20. Well actually dirt jumping is a very technical form of riding, i don't mean any random jumping the lumps kind of riding i mean busting out 360's and one handed crankflip can-cans and things to that effect. Downhill also takes a lot of skill so what your saying is wrong. You mean freeriding, all that is is launching yourself off the biggest drop over the largest gap as fast as you possibly can.
  21. Seconded. Thats about as usefull as saying you need to change your rear inner tube because you've got ne grips So long as the rotor is the right size or you get a bigger rotor with the correct adapter it will be fine.
  22. Feathering is where you pull the brake partially whilst rolling along to keep more control of the bike whilst youre doing something like a manual.
  23. i like 26" wheels... rules out bmxingWhen you ride a line then look back at it and can't for the life of you think how it'd be possible to ride a bike along something like that, the feeling is just immenseI like just plain enjoy trials ridingI like the challenge it usually presentsI love to ride past pedestrians really fast and feather my honky rear brake to make them s**t themselves
  24. I'm the same.. i don't know how people don't just do it naturally. Its like telling someone how to walk properly
