    Hope

wayne your like the major person in this thread for "only seeing it one way", it's coming across that you're trying to promote hope's products and service more than listening to what anybody else is having to say. Before you say i'm big headed or anything like that i can completely see where hope are coming from with the charges and i agree that if someone's hub is truly a warranty claim case (i.e. axle snapped in a week of buying a new hub for cross country riding in the lake district) then they can ring hope and talk to them personally about it. As with all things on my bike i take care of my hub and service it periodically to keep it running and i havn't had any problems with it at all so far, most other people do the same and for those who don't more fool them. I think the general thing that people are saying though is that this billing shouldn't be charged for the pro II t hub, because it is designed for trials. If it does break during trials use within 12 months i don't think they can charge for it to be repaired anyway because its against the consumer rights policy or something like that.... andy said it further up the thread somewhere. And there is another thing your forgetting wayne... despite you meaning well, this is an internet forum, there will always be people who come one here for a whinge or to cause an argument because a lot of people on here are under 16... thats what kids do. i think i'm going to be the first person on here to say cheers for the information wayne and taking the time to try your hardest to answer questions on the matter.
  2. Your pushing the bike forwards before you've finished going upwards. Pull your bars to your chin and bend your legs, the bike will find where its supposed to be going. Then just same as everyone else, go a little bit faster and hit it slightly lower.
  3. 72 degree headtube angle. Crazy bars of weirdness in the middle. One peice top tube/seatstays Edit: forgot the damn picture D'oh :$

    Spore

I would have the most random looking anuimal it would be untrue, they'd have about 50 legs like a half centipede, with its mouth being suspended above its head and its hands would be on the end of its three tails. It would be able to run away like a professional sprinter because it doens't like fighting and if when it evolves it would move around by spinning its tails around like helicoptor blades. would be hilarious. :$
  5. Wrong, a fixed hub is like everybody else has said, a hub that has a thread on it for you to attach either a freewheel or threaded cog. Conners dmr is a fixed hub. A locked out hub is completely different, its a normal mountain bike freehub like a hope xc that has been bodged so the freehub doesn't spin anymore.
  6. I don't ride much when i go out riding with you ben because i get sidetracked :$ , i think about doing something and then i end up watching you pulling off some crazily huge thing instead I didn't say notts is shit, but i just don't get why evreyone thinks its such a good place to ride. I guess i must not have been shown all the good places to ride. The amphitheatre rocks though, apart from the bald security guy that works there, i thought we had it bad when that f**kin weirdo came out and started screaming at us to get off.... i would never have thought someone would pull a gun out as a threat. Mind you.... notts is like gun crime capital of england!
  7. Cheers for the comments. I'll have a fiddle later on and remove the www. from the title of the pages. :$ Of course i'd put a link to trials-forum on here, its like gotta be a law or rule or something... everyone must link to t-f :$ I can't beleive you guys don't like the main title... it took me ages to make that this morning. Edit: What do you reckon to the idea of the bikes pictures? when you click on the pictures of the bikes it takes yu to a massive collage of pictures of that bike, only works on a couple of them so far though... and i might make them look a bit better too.
  8. So the last site was shockingly aweful but i've been working hard getting this all up and running and i now feel this is ready enough to have its own topic so have a look and see what you reckon. www.Thrashed.TK If you find any faults let me know so i can have a go at getting them fixed. Cheers
  9. They realised that nottingham isn't that good a place to ride! ooh a little wall, look theres a circular plant pot for a tree next to it, lets sit here for an hour taking it in turns to front gap it! Once you've been to the coust wall, amphiteatre, and white walls theres not really a lot else to do there.
  10. Well thats what happens if you don't fully explain things in your first post. So they do shift but not very smoothly? But i'm guessing once they're in their place there are no problems with it randomly shifting? If thats true i would have a guess at saying its because the kmc kool 9 speed chain isn't really designed for optimum shifting, more for being strong and fitting on a cassette should you run one. Mine used to do this on my normal hub... but it wasn't really important because you don't really change gears a lot in trials. Just noticed this Single speed is the way to go for street, gears are for comps. If you can't get them sorted i would recommend sticking having a go at single speed just as a testing period, i'm pretty sure you will prefer it!
  11. Try taking the crank arms off and sliding a spacer onto each axle, then whack your crank arms back on and they're further out. It might help . My plazmatics lasted since last years bike show till about 3-4 weeks ago when i got some of the coust pads (which are loads better by the way) on a medium grind. My plazzies still had some pad left so i popped them out the backings for when my cousts run out.
  12. They can look something along the lines of this....
  13. Well the frames standover height will be low enough to start learning to ride trials on. I would say don't change the forks. this is based on the fact that so if you were to fit rigid forks i would imagine it is going to drop you bb height so low it could be a hinderance, you won't really see the gain of rigid forks til you progress. The main things will be get a bashring, shorten your chain so it doesn't bouce all over the place, or if you have the version with horizontal dropouts you can ingnore that. Tune your brakes up so they react quickly with good hold, this may be best done by purchasing some good brake pads (see heatsinkbikes.com for suitable vee pads) just for the rear though, standards will be fine on the front. I would probably change your tyre to a beefy knobbler of a tyre instead of the dirt tyre i would imagine will be already on your dmr trailstar, go for something like a maxxis minion/high roller in the biggest size you can fit in your frame. That should sort you for a while.
  14. I love mine, i think it's great i shall be sad to see it go when i replace it sometime very soon, i need a much longer bike so i can sit more comfortably on it. (i'm very tall) Aboslutely love it though, never regret buying it and has lasted well too.
  15. It is pretty boring to be honest mate. No different angle or anything just made it boring to watch, i was like "oh another guys just fallen off that rock"... What is it with that as well? that rock looked well easy to ride! Then there was another rock, and another and another... Got boring fast, the tripod bugged me as well (i wished i could knock it over). There was a good sidehop though up them steps, but apart from that.....
  16. Go for 31.8 then you can get better bars and stem at the same time, there's no point buying into a minority clamp size, you'll kick yourself later.
  17. Thats my party trick that is, i only ever do it with the £7 bottles though, the one down from a litre. Gets you royally f**ked that does. Never EVER do it on an empty stomach. Pulls the ladies for sure, just so long as they're not around later when it starts to kick in . I'm a fairly big lad so my normal shot is a double to everyone else. I usually combo drink, have some beers then a load of nasty drinks. Vodka, dark rum and apple j20 is a f**kin beast of a drink. Goes jet black in the glass and really gets you wankered. I would say beer beats vodka though, vodka gets you drunk but you wouldn't drink it casually at home or when out with mates, so that makes beer the winner for its multifunctionality.

    Hope

I was under the impression tht hope had a lifetime warranty, but i guess not any more. Does anybody know for definate what the warranty is on the pro 2 t hub?
  19. I would probably say that you haven't set you gears up properly. Check your mech hanger is straight, this may cause your gears to mess up. Set you high and low limit screws so that the mech doesn't shift past the ends of your cassette (it would piss you right off if you accidentally changed gears and got it stuck in your spokes) Set it into first gear and shift up to second gear, adjust the barrel adjuster till it shifts into place. Change it back to first and make sure it shifts nicely. Do the same for the second gear, adjusting it as you change into third. And the same for the third. Then it should all be working, if it isn't check your cable, something may have gone wrong there or it may just need replacing. If thats fine check your shifter unit to see if thats alright, then check your actual mech to see if its bent or if the springs are broken.
  20. okay cheers http://www.zappos.com/n/p?dp=3710144 only place i could find them cheap
  21. What model name or number are they? i'm not going on a hunt based on the picture alone
  22. Ha ha, gee atherton is a mad b*****d! We made snow jumps once but you have to stamp on the landing ramp loads so it goes hard but nor enough so it goes icy, otherwise your bike just kind of goes sideways. We found it much more effective to make a huge jump at the bottom of the hill and a large pile of soft snow to bail into. Got some massive air from that.
  23. Nope i won't be going. It's pretty boring there. Has anyone else besides me noticed that this ride is supposed to have been around 3 weeks ago? i think more people might go if they new this ride was the 4th march not the 4th february.
  24. Because of the way disc brakes work you will have bedded it in again afterwards, only maybe not in the same way. I used a cooker hob to burn mine but if you can get hold of a clipper lighter or one of those trigger lighters for old people to use on fires then that should work as well.
