  1. or modulation.. white spirit works for me if its only got finger grease on.
  2. I mostly agree with that but do you not find that once you've got a technique down you don't need the power anymore. Pigeons are a prime example of this for me, I used to have to really yank on the bike and hop really hard to get up stuff by pigeoning but as I get better at it I need to put less power in to get a up a given obstacle. In all, good technique will win because you're using the power you have more efficiently. Hurling yourself at stuff with reckless abandon and loads of power is a lot more fun than poncing around it though.
  3. solution = put the money on the bedside table as soon as you agree a price I understand what you're saying though - I've had a few wierd ones that put me off women for a while. You just have to remember that they're all different and 9 (well, maybe 8) times out of 10 they'll treat you as well as you treat them - unless it's scary week in which case you're scum and it's all your fault.
  4. i've got an 11 year old 1gb hard drive that still works and a 21 year old 40mb hardrive that still works (in a 21 year old PC) so ner . Of course, they don't make em like that anymore - hence my 2 dead 80gb 10,000rpm IBM disks in less than 18months (£200 each!!!! ) not sure what my point was there anyway.... If the restarting doesn't always happen at the same time - like you'll get a minute before it dies sometimes and a second at other times. OR You've added extra hardware (graphics cards etc) to the machine since you got it the power supply is a prime suspect. If the machine's 6 years old the one inside is almost certainly weak as piss and on it's last legs by now. If you overload them they can stand up to it for a long time but they degrade and eventually can't cut it anymore - causing your machine to randomly shutdown / reboot etc. (my last one took 9 months at about 50-100watts over what it could really handle safely before dying completely) If it's always happening at POST (when the scary numbers come up immediately after you turn it on) it's unlikely to be hard disk related. It'll be something aong the lines of what deagledaddy said. Pull out all the non essential hardware - LAN cards, soundcards etc etc. unplug any USB devices (USB mice&keyboards dont count) and any other crap youve got hanging out of it and see if it turns on & windows boots. If it does, start adding hardware 1 bit at a time, turning it on, waiting for windows to boot and repeat till you find the broken bit (it'll stop working at that point) If none of that helps try a different graphics card cos thats what starts up first (usually) If that doesn't work you're edging into potentially into damaged memory/MOBO/CPU territory. Try swapping out the Ram sticks if you have more than one. If that doesn't work you're definitely into return to manufacturer territory If it shits itself while starting windows then reinstall windows into a different folder and use that one instead of the old one - choose to not format your harddrive or you'll lose all your shit Most importantly - dont let anyone from a computer shop format the harddisk and reinstall windows for you - that's their answer to bloody everything - its a technique that works on the same principle as the nuclear bomb (push button -> problem gone) and has the added bonus that they can sit down for 4 hours watching progress bars and charge you £80 for the privilege If you're worried about the data, take the hard drive and plug it into another pc so you can copy it all off to CDs or whatever before you start buggering about. If it's not on there anymore find a copy of easyrecovery pro (or similar) and use that to find it. if that PC blows up, it was your hardrive
  5. damn! ill take sloppy seconds on a more serious note. I don't regret 90% of the shagging around I've done. In the 12-13 or so years since I first got my old chap properly wet ( that really does make me feel old ) I've indulged in a fair variety of (erm,) activities and frankly it's been great fun. The only regrets I have come from having being dishonest about certain things on certain occasions. I could rant on for hours about this but my general point is that you shouldn't regret any of it unless it hurts somebody's feelings or gives you nob-rot. People take sex far too seriously - if you always remember to bag it up and don't go putting things in other peoples girlfriends/children/pets then wheres the harm? It's only an experience and experiences are always good things to have.
  6. those are for women. front wheel skids are the future
  7. nah - youll never get that - nobody wants them anymore. ill give you a tenner
  8. I was going to go zoo ISIS myself (would cost about £150 inc BB) but I bought a bmx instead of new cranks. The onza ones seem to hold up fine if you're on a budget. mine are missing a fair bit of metal these days but seem to be holding up alright.
  9. I figure if you hit something hard enough you're certain to either go over it or through it so power is clearly where it's at.

I've got a £15 creative one from about a year back that's pretty good given the cost. hooking up a camcorder or digital camera (both the ones I've owned have supported usb streaming) is probably your best bet if you want to make sure they can see every veiny inch in perfect clarity though.
  13. The t-mag should be ok - you get a decent disk brake and a disk wheel with it which saves you money in the long run. I got a t-pro with t-mag front end for £500 cos I never really liked the look of the t-mag frame The first thing you should change is the forks cos the standard ones weigh about a metric tonne. It'll make a huge difference to how the bike rides (recommend Zoo forks cos I have them and they're nice) - If you want to get new bars you'll need a new stem as well because the standard onza one is a stupid size. Zoo bars are a good choice - the funny shape allows you to get pretty much any feel you like out of them and they also look sexy.
  14. warranty? Unless you bought it from ebay or some other dodgy outfit of course - in which case it wasn't really worth saving yourself that tenner was it? give sidewayscycles a call - they do all the spare parts I think. Driveshell ain't gonna be cheap though
  15. missus' punto used to do the temperature light thing all the time. After several (horrendously expensive and essentially pointless) trips to the main fiat dealer we took it in for new brakes at a proper garage and they found a teeny-tiny leak in a hose where it joins the radiator. They fixed that and it's not happened since. The water only came out when it got hot so we never saw wet spots when it was parked. f**k knows about the battery though
  16. made of decent metal as well - don't forget that. they will skip if you don't clean em out but unlike open bearing freewheels undoing them doesnt spread hundreds of pissy little bearings everywhere so you can actually clean them out easily.
  17. nah, no visible cracks - I reckon it's the silky finish on the zoo bars that does it.
  18. mine creak a little bit too - nothing unpleasant has happened to me yet and it's about 3 - 4 months since I got them
  19. haaa love it. but, there has been a post about a cracked one on here. whether its bullshit or not is another matter. they're probably fine - no reason to suspect otherwise, most of the echo frames have been ok so far afaik
  20. You know you're in Spain/Greece/Italy/France/etc. when supermarkets smell like rotting flesh and cheese. And some nasty old hag is smoking into your bacon
  21. halflife - obviously and the second one. san andreas (because its the best GTA yet) The most fun ever was playing max payne from start to finish without sleep.
  22. The stem being loose wouldn't cause it anyway I wouldn't think. If you have to tighten it more than a couple of times it's probably not just the headset/forks bedding in after removal. I'd be inclined to think your headset's cacked - which is fairly likely if you're riding with it loose. Unless you've flared the headtube - which is also fairly likely if you're riding it with the headset loose. new headset then .
