a bike is just a big lever with an idiot on it. Anything you do to improve one thing will negatively affect something else. ie. short back end means less weight on the front end which means the front comes up easier but the bike is more inclined to loop out underneath you steep headtube angle means quick steering but the bike is less stable- particularly at speed high BB means that when you're on the backwheel your weight is more centered over the pivot (rear hub) - meaning its easy to stay on the back - the bad side is that your weight is higher up which makes the bike more unstable when not on the back short front end makes the bike more spinny and easier to lift but you lose leverage and the bike is less stable if we're talking stock there's all sorts of weird shapes and sizes going around but with mods I think im safe in saying most (not all) conform to this sort of arrangement... wheelbase: 1000-1030 ish mm (according to the manufacturers - not real life obviously) headangle: 72 ish whatsits chainstays: 360 ish mm bb rise : 50 ish mm the only real factor to consider with a mod is how long you like it if you want a decent illustration in real life, compare the geometry on a flatland bmx with the geometry on a dirt jumper and think about what they're used for.

Hardly surprising really is it? Forget the newspapers etc bollocking on about it all the time for the last 5 years. There's been muslim terrorists murdering innocent people all over the world for my entire life (almost 27 years now) and it was going on for a long, long time before that. Libyans, palestinians, chechens (that school massacre), saudis (bin lala & friends), afghans - the list goes on and they're mostly muslim. The worst part is that (with the exception of the chechens and the palestinians) they aren't out there fighting for independence or freedom like proper terrorists (eg. the IRA) they're out there specifically for the purpose of wiping every non-muslim off the face of the earth - A bit like what Hitler did except this time round the people trying to stop them get branded as Evil. Before I get slated for being a filthy racist scumbag I should point out that I hate everybody not just specific racial or religious groups. Oh - and the new Pope isn't as good as the last one. His birthday is on the wrong day (ie. different from mine) for a start

Nokia 6280 - Anyone Have One...and Are They Any Good?
poopipe replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Chit Chat
6280s are cool, my mate Tim's got one and I'm slightly jealous cos its all sleek and sophisticated and has a nice big screen (i miss my p910) I'm with anzo on the w800i though. mines lovely. the walkman thing is excellent , the camera's great fun (panorama mode rules) and the joystick hasn't cacked out on me yet (nearly 2 months ) If you're bored with the sony already just find dopewars and sokoban on the interweb. they keep me going for ages. - work on the 6280 as well -
post office - not being a postman but working the the sorting office. I did that for a while, it payed ok and it was shift work so you don't lose too much time. plus you get to chuck big bags of stuff around

and me did you see the set with the little crosses of electrical tape on her nippy bits ? mmmpie

you're an angel you are. i shall name the bike anzo.

genius. I'm gonna try that - the slippery skatepark allows endo skids er. for further you need to throw your nuts at the stem - a pedal kick without doing that just loops you out , also the kick should be applied late - again, trashzen.com - i learn everything from julien cos he's better than me higher. tuck more for both - it's your body that should be doing most of the work, not the bike. the bike follows you

k - my opinions are the best so ner good things. page load nice and quick (important) useful links are at the top of the page (good for users, good for google) no stupid gimmicks like b*****d floating menus or sidebars that don't scroll with the rest of the page (good for users, good for google) not green text on black background (or similar rotten, painful colour combination) bike shaped logo thing on the banner is very groovy pretty banner picture (its just too big) you used point sizes for the text instead of pixels - this is important because it means the text size settings in the browser will work( good for accessibility) bad things (sorry) Banner is too big - I'm on the missus lappytop at 1280x1024 and I lose half the page to a banner. On a proper computer running 1600x1200 it's less of a problem but not everybody has a proper computer. The main body text is too big - big enough to slightly scare me in fact but thats 14pt arial for you. (try verdana - its lovely) Menu text is a bit indistinct - definitely go bold (google likes bold too) and I'd suggest a more contrasty colour. The text area is probably too wide - people can only handle about 6-8 words in a row before their eyes get bored The page is left-heavy - you need to be drawing people down the page as they read whereas I found my eyes kind of heading left as i looked at it. I think centering everything and padding in the sides of the main text <div> would eliminate this I personally tend to prefer more monochrome sites as I find them easier on the eye and the pictures appear a lot brighter - leeson's site is one of my favourite designs at the moment , the mid grey really brings out colour in the photosand it's comfortable reading in low light (like when im at work) The good news is that the site did not piss me off - this is very rare in novice built sites (I hate all websites as a rule anyway). You've kept it simple and clean which is the most important thing to do when trying to flog stuff to people. Theres a million things you could do to improve it but there are billions you could do to royally f**k it up. IMO it's a good start - you just need to work on the readability and layout a bit. Which is hard if you're only just learning the ways of HTML constructive ? i hope so - i had to type it on a bloody laptop

poopipe replied to Tom1989's topic in Beginners Trials Chat

listen to him - he's right. my missus is my bestestest friend in the whole world - anything less would have ended in murder about 3-4 years back. out of interest, are there many other marrieds on here (heastsink steve maybe) ? I'd do it but I prefer to annoy her parents by putting it off. Cuiusvis hominis est errare, nullius nisi insipientis in errore perseverare -
I'm scared of hi-ten frames/forks. They bend easily - especially if you're planning on grinding a lot (dropouts) or jumping (forks). I'd say you're better off getting a second hand one with a full cromo (4130, reynolds or similar ) frame. A 2nd hand Bmx is nowhere near as risky as a 2nd hand trials bike cos steel bends before it breaks - unlike cheese (ally). OllyC has a couple of bikes for sale - it may be worth contacting him although I think they're a bit more expensive than you're after.

it's all for fags anyway - black is the only colour anybody should run.
