  1. not according to echo
  2. ^^ short bike same problem on I have on mod. I find over about 3' you basically run out of wheelbase - I suspect the secret is to tap while off the ground but thats scary and I still cant do it.
  3. the black and silver echo 4 bolt one works great - didn't cost much from what I remember either.
  4. women don't poo . funny lad I still believe that if I turn the lights off for bed wolves will eat me while I sleep.
  5. actually, waving anything that looks like a gun around is already grounds for armed response from the old bill - it's happened to plenty of my mates in and around ipswich over the last 10 years or so. Obviously they police have to be told about it while it's happening or they aren't going to get a chance to respond. I'd put the local police station's number (ie not 999) in my mobile and phone em up next time. Trying to take someone carrying an airgun on is asking to get shot , being hit at close range by one of those snap in half wooden jobs your dad used to play with hurts like buggery and will make a hole in you - even through jeans - so christ knows how much damage a proper one could do.
  6. monty 221 pr and 221 ti from this year have rear disc mounts. last years 221 ti had rear disk mount but i'm not sure if the 221pr did. I think that's it for easy to get hold of mods. Koxx are bringing frames out with rear disks soon-ish (maybe already) but I've not seen them anywhere I normally get parts from yet.
  7. he wants a lower stem though. the one that comes on the t-mag is roughly the same shape as the echo or t-master . my old try-all stem (the 25.4mm clamp one) was low but pretty damn long. maybe one of the echo hi-fi stems would work out right - they come in a few different sizes.
  8. 39 works out at about 2.75 ive been running 39-14 for a while now and it's all groovy. bit of a shock at first but you get used to it
  9. what Ali C said about mods being too easy is fair enough but that's what I like about them. You can chuck a mod around all over the place without having to think about it too much - why make life hard for yourself?
  10. fill the tyre with climbing chalk or similar I just learnt that off George French so it probably works.
  11. a solid kick in the arse and a bollocking ? actually damaging him would make you feel guilty later (and upset your parents) but leaving a decent bruise on the little bugger's backside will probably chill you out a fair bit - if you shout at him too he might even learn something ...
  12. reasonable force is less force than they use. winning = prison - weapon of choice = something that works from a long way off, like a rifle or a tank
  13. loose pedals ? pedals need to be supertight
  14. this one doesn't work though does it? i lkie cnoouct did i beat the system?
  15. too bad she'll probably burn to death during an FBI siege at their ranch in about 18months
  16. angle grinder. do we think being box sectiony means it wont fold in half if you so much as explain the concept of a brick to it?
  17. thats mostly true, there's no single right geometry - there are lots of right geometries. You have to assume that a monty is shaped like monty because somebody who tested lots of different geometries considered it the right geometry.
  18. yes they will they will also get eaten immediately by cogs, pavement, branches, pedals, walls, brake levers, boosters, stems, bashplates, axle bolts and so on. probly best not to ride in expensive ones just wear shinpads with shorts if you have skinny chicken legs and don't like getting them out in public
  19. a new monty would have 8 years worth of improvements over the 8 year old monty -wouldnt it ? Once you've got the big geometry right, it's right forever - which is probably where your dad's coming from. The thing is, there's lots of other stuff that affect how a pushbike rides. Improvements in material and design can make a bike weigh less , get stronger, get stiffer, allow for funny shaped tubes that you dont hit your ankle on - all sorts. I never rode a moto-trials bike but all that suspension and the engine are going to hide a lot of that stuff from the rider
  20. why ? nevermind forks - definitely forks. The standard ones weigh almost as much as the frame and make life hard. shiny ally forks make life good and weigh a lot less than the frame and get a eno freewheel (green one) - profiles cost too much and mean you need a wheelbuild
  21. hell yeah. and that Holly Willoughby from kids TV - she's like a chubby Holly Vallance - perfect for those morning moments lucy pinder is a mutt
  22. yeah. kerrygold is good I made homemade walnut butter a while back using kerrygold . it was good with ham and celery
