  1. Yeah - do what Jez says. You'll be able to get a complete mod for under £200 off somebody on here easy.. As soon as you get half good, a half arsed trials bike will hold you back and you'll probably just end up going out and buying a whole new one. I'd offer to sell you my da bomb if this post was in the FS/W thread - it's not, so obviously I can't. (am I allowed to suggest you pm me about it though ? - better not, just to be safe like )
  2. er yeah - you ought to eject it really. does it happen if you plug it into a different hole ? try to get it onto a different controller from any other high bandwidth devices - eg memory key jibbers or USB hard drives. it could - in stupid b*****d computer land - be drawing too much power or something stupid like that.
  3. oo saved me saying it .. surely you 'could' run OSX on an athlon chip ? - it's basically an x86 underneath and OSX is just linux. - I spose they'll have nobbed OSX so it only works on intels yuo buy off of apple though won't they. and people bitch about microsoft....
  4. I'm an ex art student and I agree wholeheartedly. In my day we had to steal our own equipment from the store cupboard (or more often from the plumbing course store cupboard) or pay for it with a £75 grant from the government(ok - that was at uni but still..) Paying idiots to go to school isn't going to stop them being idiots - it's just going to provide them with £30 a week to buy some dope and bunk off with. If I'd been given that while I was at school its exactly what I would have done. We ought to be sending the buggers down the mines that's what I reckon
  5. Only if theres nothing stopping the server piping information down at that speed. Which there usually is. I'm on an 8mb proper pipe at work (none of this ADSL crap) and rarely see above 200-300k/s even if there's nobody else here - it's because the rest of the world is busy stealing my lovely bandwidth with shite like morpheus and sending each other chain emails in case they go to hell . It wasn't like this back in 93
  6. I rode my da bomb for about a year - the first half of that I was just bowling about, bunnyhopping up kerbs n stuff. It's still in one piece, I had a quick go on it on sunday. I only really got a new bike cos it wouldve cost a fortune to upgrade the da bomb to a decent spec.
  7. There's 2 ways of looking at this. If you're under 18 and you reckon you can win then you might as well fight. If you're over 18, you fight and you win you're going to end up in the nick (well, you will if you do the job properly). It's going to be pretty hard not to stand out if you're escaping on a stupid little bike with no seat. Your best bet is to get some decent insurance and give the nice man with the knife your bike when he asks (not before). It's not worth getting killed over.
  8. oo! oo! look what i did its old, dont laugh too hard
  9. mine's got a metal lever with black paint on - its an 05 louise FR - like the one in the pic but all black. I dont know about the boggo louise though.
  10. echo team? has a bashplate and it's shiny.
  11. walnut butter (good in a ham roll) get 1 pile of walnuts get half the weight of the walnuts in butter put in blender add a spot of salt & pepper blend till it looks nice wrap up in foil and place in fridge till it goes hard apply to roll, add ham, eat Julien - i expect to see an egg pie recipe in here pretty soon
  12. I really liked that - it looked like you were going round in circles all the time. I also like the squeakey noises and lack of silly music. I'm definitely going to steal those ideas if I ever get my camera out the only thing missing was a dog chasing a sheep um - 4.5 out of 5 pies
  13. what's in a dirty martini, apart from martini ? and do american watermelons taste like watermelon flavour jolly ranchers?
  14. there is ? I should use the search really. I was being almost serious. you couldn't tell from the quality of my recipes? speaking of which... spinach and feta stuffed mushrooms... Get big open capped mushrooms, some spinach and some feta (not that fake tesco crap thats made of cow milk either - get some proper greek stuff), Cut stalks off mushrooms chop up and put to the side somewhere, Get big flat pan, put some water in, add about the same amount of martini as you did water (you can use white wine but its not as good) , put mushroom caps in wine and cook till most of the liquid goes away or they smell nice(whichever comes first) - top up with martini if it looks like itll boil dry defore theyre done. Take mushroom caps out of pan and put to the side, Throw chopped mushrooms and spinach (& some salt n pepper n stuff) into the pan - adding more martini and water boil until spinach is done. Put the mushroom caps on a baking tray, fill them with the spinach/mushroom mixture and stuff some bits of feta in. Bake in oven till they look done - fairly hot, shouldn't take very long. -- is this getting old yet ?
  15. woo! i get to show someone my video http://www.trashzen.com/anpedalhop1f.html thats the easiest way to get up stuff, every alternative requires balance and skill and as always , a trashzen link http://www.trashzen.com/climbing6.html
  16. I think he's a mate of worphy - I believe they go resutling together on weekends which one's boning ?
  17. yeah - cooking is fun . maybe we need a recipes thread ... chilli. get mince, chillis, onion, tinned tomato, peppers and a spot of garlic . fry mince in oil till brown, chop everything else up, add onions to mince, wait a bit, throw the rest in with some salt n pepper , wait till it smells nice , eat. refried beans (to go with chilli). get baked beans, wash sauce off, add chilli powder, garlic, add other tasty mexican themed herby stuff, fry for a bit, mash them up, fry for a bit more, eat. rice (to go with chilli and beans). get rice, follow instructions on packet, ignore instructions, boil until soft, eat generally speaking I'd go for groundnut oil or similar when cooking this sort of thing - olive oil tends to be a bit on the heavy side. hmmm, too lazy to think of more now..
  18. If you land something huge all perfect and smooth then cheapo V's on a smooth rim will hold you fine. It's the dodgier moments that have brought about the need for maggies, grinding and better pads.
  19. er. an £85 eno (green one) offers the same engagements as a king - except it doesn't cos there's the gear ratio to take into account.
  20. neither of them are shite . . Ive had an 05 t-pro for a while now( 5-6 months or so), I've been smacking it into walls and its fine. The forks are really solid (anyone who's seen me properly fook up a tap can testify to that) in fact they're probably the main reason most frames snap where they do. There are also a lot of broken t-pro frames because there are a lot of t-pro frames. the 05 t-mag had (they may changed it) a slightly shite way of attaching the bashguard to the downtube which resulted in a couple of people punching a hole in their frame after landing really hard on the bash. don't worry about either of them - if it breaks they give you a new one half price and it probably won't unless you're incredibly fat, very unlucky or you do something stupid like ride it with a dirty great crack
  21. A: what the hell is a trial hop ? B: mike is right C: as always, ask julien. go to www.trashzen.com then click pedal hop D: The secret appears to be in kicking late - after you start throwing yourself forwards(but obviously before you take off). I can only cover 3 or 4 feet from the backwheel so I'm not the best person to be taking advice from on technique but kicking later got me from 18 inches to 3-4 foot, I think its just adding some power and balls to go further.
  22. yup -rest is good , ive never bothered much with anti inflammatories but i'm hard i am. I've had some nasty rsi several times - proper swelling and everything, that was all computer related. Anything i've had from the bike has been fairly minor and more to do with having my brakes setup so they lock too far from the bars than anything else. If you reckon it might be computer related there's a few things you can do to reduce it... Mousing from the elbow rather than your wrist - ie. put your elbow on the desk and move your whole forearm rather than just your wrist. Getting a low profile keyboard helps too- one that looks like a laptop keyboard, its a lot easier to slide your hands around over the top of them so you aren't stretching as much or twisting your wrist to reach keys (speeds up the ol touch typing as well)
  23. hell no.. that's like using the search on a forum ok - not quite a final year student. arc-9 interactive is a bunch of students who decided to start a game company - thus far they don't appear to have released anything.
  24. hi-fi is cool. hi-fi feels like a mod - which can only be a good thing the only bad thing about hi-fi is that you can't fit an egg in the hole at the front - i checked on Wing's one earlier. I reckon a radish would go in but i didn't have any in the fridge.
  25. it's highly likely to be that. tighten lockring, ride, repeat , until you give up and buy an eno...
