Or Bernie is just a massive cocksmoker.

Rear wheel is laced incorrectly? Seriously though, can't see anything strange about the spec.
-
Haha. That was both funny and cringeworthy. Nutter.

Time to put the front wheels on the back (and vice versa) and get another year out of them

SanTart is offended But he still has an offer for you today anyway! http://bit.ly/santart (We should have a new weird picture tomorrow...) -
It's not too critical. I've done anything from 'drive them like your nan for a few weeks' to 'straight into a qualifying session on brand new discs and pads' and the end result is the same All the boxes and stuff will say 'avoid harsh braking for the first X miles' but you can pretty much ignore it

Back high is good on an understeering wrong wheel drive* canal boat *Yes yes, I know it's 4wd, but it isn't really.

It's like one of those puzzles... I think it *has* to be a weekday unfortunately. I would much prefer a weekend too, but it doesn't appear to be do-able, sorry.

Nearest I know of would be Autolink but they are still 2 hours away and dunno if they have a dyno...

Get it on the rollers Mike, might cost you £50 but could easily save you 10% on fuel bills if you get someone who knows what they are doing! Timing adjustments and AFM clock spring tweaks make the world of difference. Standard they are pretty sub-optimal since they are designed to be safe on 91 RON fuel.

What if you buy a 6 month old car, use it for 2.5 years then sell it before the warranty is out / MOT is required, then sell that and buy another of the same age (and repeat)? My main interest in this is whether it's better to buy or lease cars, not whether its better to lease 3 cars in 9 years than buy one car and keep it for 9 years (cos nobody in their right mind does that). i would disagree about the MX-5 comment btw, but I can see how your 'argument' does hold weight for other vehicles. To add some balance, my road MX-5 in 2 years has cost me under £2000 including: buying the car (real cash money and everything!), 2 MOTs, 2 years of insurance, a new exhaust, 2 tax discs and routine servicing / maintenance. And I still have car that's worth minimum £6-700 in it's current state, or £4-500 if it fails an MOT spectacularly. Ok, it's not great on fuel, but all these new cars don't make anywhere near the MPG figures they claim. I can also park it anywhere I like without worrying about someone dinging it, and it goes sideways, and it's not a shitty FIAT. Lol.

We can't afford to do discounts of that level unfortunately, which is why we've had the offer on for all of November instead. -
And if your car was £14k to buy (like it is in this case?), and you'd be given £7k back from the dealer at the end of 4 years (so more like £8k privately), it's more expensive to get finance - or have I got something wrong? I agree that for Mrs Jones wanting to show Mrs Smith next door she's got a new car, that's a good deal though (only a few grand more over the course of a few years AND you don't have to save up). I will never understand people. Jardo, I think you've put down all the details before So is burning 8 £20 notes a month, I know what I'd rather do Look at the state of it!!

A Mk3? Who would drive such a thing?

Hmm, I dunno, this is pretty close: click

Is this a wind up?

But I like him We are digressing slightly - haha - basically I'll get back in touch with David in a couple of weeks when he has the new calendar, nail down a date, then we can get some confirmed numbers / deposits sorted. Personally I think we should limit it to 12 or it will get frustrating with all the waiting around, but again open to suggestions.
-
What about for the track day? Wheeeeyyyy.
-
Maybe I forgot to mention - there's only one car allowed on circuit at any one time. This was my point about the waiting around with more than 10-12 cars... and also why I suggested the 'sessioned' idea. Of course bring her along if she fancies it, most women who are interested in driving make really good track drivers, especially their ability to listen to instruction!

No worries gents A photographer would be sweet Mike, everyone loves pics of their cars, don't they Dan! I'm sure we can sort him out some lunch or something in return Helmets - recommended but not mandatory. Max speed you'll reach is probably not much more than a motorway drive. I have a spare lid if anyone needs to borrow one. Deposits - would prefer to avoid PayPal stretching my arsehole if possible, but bank transfer or PayPal gift would be fine by me. Tuition - sorted. Another suggestion might be to have 'sessions'. Example... We have 12 cars, so 6 are being driven and 6 are parked up, taking half an hour turns or so. We can then have 6 people driving and 6 people passengering. We're not going to be setting any world records here so the extra weight of a passenger isn't an issue! To me the benefits of this are: - You spend less time sat about in a queue doing f**k all with your car idling. - You get to learn about your own driving (from people pointing stuff out to you) and see others drive too (which in turn you can learn about your own driving from this). - You meet people you might not have done normally, which is more fun / social, and when I've done track days in this way they have always been more enjoyable. - Gives you a time slot to work on your car or go and get fuel etc. without feeling like you're 'missing out'. Just a suggestion! They were doing it really, really wrong
