  1. he did indeed - here's the full spec: Frame: Echo Team 05' Fork: Echo Lite F.Wheel.: Black Tryall, Avid 160mm, Maxxis CC, Author hub R. Wheel: DX 32, B+ hub, Maxxis CC Cranks: Echo 158mm Pedals: Wellgo MG-1 F.W.: WI 72p R.Brake: Magura HS33, Braided Hose, Koxx bloxx, Water Bar, Stem: Try-all oversize+try-all Headset: FSA Orbit and here's another pic from OTN: i'm not a fan of mods, but if that bike had black cranks and a black sumpguard then it'd be perfect! as it is, it's 98% perfect!!!
  2. street and jump rims are notorious for being strong (with some weight issues - but then an Onza Ronnie weighs a tonne too!). so what might be the problems with using any of the following rims on the back of a trials rig that'll be used for 99% urban riding? Halo Combat Multi DMR DeeVee AtomLab GI Dirt i'm more interested in building a durable wheel than being obsessed with weight. granted, i've not seen anybodys trials rigs with any of the above rims - but is that because it's not considered 'cool', not considered 'trials' (neither of which i care about) or is it because of potential faliure problems? (apologies for YET ANOTHER rear rim question :$ )
  3. another great vid from jonny j - nice to see none of the 'uber-low-and-silver' bikes in a vid for a change! those Pace rigs really were the mutts nuts - weren't they?
  4. nah - i don't buy that i see a stright line from the lever to the edge of the fork, then another straight line from the edge of the fork to the caliper ergo - it's stretched tight!
  5. there's probably a good reason for that! sorry mate - but there are far too many colours going on on that bike for it to be even slightly nice to look at! gold bars chrome forks khaki green (or whatever onza call it) frame fluro yellow rims lime green hub blue chainstay protector why not throw a set of red echo cranks on there and be done with it? but - it's your bike and it floats your boat - so good luck with that
  6. the TA26 is the newer style - here's a pic of it as it stands now: but i'm not getting the stem/bars/wheels/front brake someone seriously fitted a Koxx rim in there? 47mm is a BIT much, but as long as i can get a 39mm in there without any/many problems then i'm laughing kitbags! cheers guys
  7. ok - to make this very short and simple: 1 - i'm having a TA26 frameset/fork/cranks etc sent over from the UK by a friend (in about 2months) 2 - there will be no wheels with the bike 3 - i've already bought a front wheel 4 - i want to get a rear wheel BEFORE the frame turns up, so i can ride it pretty much straight out of the box 5 - i understand that most people run a Mavic D521/EX721 at the rear, but i want something wider 6 - Onza Ronnies have been suggested (at 37mm wide) 7 - would an AlexRims DX32 (at 39mm wide) work though, with Zoo pads? anyone who knows anyone with a Base TA26 (and i know i've asked the question about rear wheels before), could you let me know if a 39mm rear rim will fit in the frame when used with a HS33, Zoo pads and the new style of Evo II mount (i.e. THIS:) with both rear and front boosters thanks guys

"Error 404: Datei nicht gefunden! Das angegebene Dokument konnte auf diesem Server leider nicht gefunden werden. " that's all i got!!!
  9. because he'd just pulled off an unbelievable move and was probably on a HUGE adrenaline high. somehow, just resting your bike against a log isn't in your mind at that point! the Earthed3 clip is proof that Akrigg is THE crown king of street trials. the width of that staircase at porthcawl is HUGE...the man is a freak 10/10, 100% balls-to-the-wall riding
  10. i wish that IRC made the 'El Gato' without that red sidewall... an all-black version would sell way more - i loved my old E.G. but that sidewall will look shite with my new bike, so i'm gonna be getting a 2.5 super tacky Minion (on the advice of a good friend)
  11. i don't need to deride those frames to make this one look better - it does that all itself! besides, it's not built like that to float YOUR boat - just Chris Akrigg's boat
  12. Surly Singleator anyone? i ran a SRAM 1/8" x 1/2" chain through my STS and it bedded itself in within a few rides - no need to file anything and it was snug
  13. fact: the bike was made for Chris with design help from Matt Tongue. fact: Chris likes larger bikes with saddles. (onza t-raptor, mongoose - ignore the Ashton...) fact: this bike IS larger than the average 6" framed, anonymous silver piss-streak, Taiwanese knock off. so - what's the beef? why all the hate? i think it's a gorgeous looking rig. reminds me of the Norco Moment (natch) in that setup - and i'm sure Chris himself loves it. lets face it - if 98% of this forum had the talent to have a bike custom made for them, they'd either copy their favourite Koxx/Echo/Ashton/Zoo/Adamant/GU/Czar etc etc etc or would have something built that looked rediculous. this bike is neither. kudos for Matt and Chris and the guys ar Charge for building a great looking bike - worthy of it's rider
  14. ...and the moral of the story is: "always check that the steerer tube is long enough when purchasing a 2nd hand pair of forks" the end.
  15. i snapped this pic a while ago back in Cardiff it's a bit ghetto, but.....
  16. the Second Hand bike cost calculator: 1 - take cost of original bike (either as whole bike or total cost of parts) 2 - half it. yup - divide it by 2! 3 - take off £50 for every year old it is 4 - VIOLA! so, a £1000 bike that i bought 3 years ago is worth... (£1000 divided by 2 = £500 - £150 (£50 x 3)) £350 trust me - that's a fair calculator - it sucks balls, but that's how much people are willing to pay for stuff. don't believe me - go to eBay!
  17. worst design ever why? hydraulic brake tubes on the downtube (as pointed out elsewhere on the web!) - like no trials riders hit the bottom of the downtube...do they? "Dear Koxx Your new idea is total wank thanks anyone who rides a bike" unless this is to be a "top level only" bike for pro-riders who don't dent their frames in which case, why show anyone?
  18. yup - either the RaceFace BB tool or the Park BBT-2 will do the job werd
  19. look here for all your TRA needs: http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/local_lin...ks&catid=10
  20. i've always liked Phil's videos (edit5 being my fave), and this one is as good as ever but as for the "is it art or vandalism" question? well Phil, you DID do a peg grind on the BMX (mark 2min 03sec on the vid) and the picnic tabel didn't prop itself up against the wall by itself (mark 1min 37sec on the vid) so from that angle, "yes - some of it IS vandalism" but before you all start getting ready to blast me out - please read on. i agree that local councils don't do enough for cyclists/bmx'ers/skaters etc and (as a result) local architecture gets abused. whenever i'm out riding urban, i tend to look at the low edges and steps for signs of skater/inline/bmxer damage - and the sad thing is that if i see any, then i know that security is gonna be watching to make sure there's no more done - and if i DON'T see any, then security is VERY good! now, my argument to any security guard who comes hassling me (and bear in mind kids, here in the USA they carry guns and don't like people dicking around near Government buildings) is that i'm not causing any more damage to the stairs or the planters than if some kid was walking on them. only the rubber of my tyres goes on those surfaces - nothing more. so - what do/can we do about it? 1 - limit any grinds strictly to skate parks. if you don't have one, try to lobby for one to be built. 2 - don't be a dick to security guards or use foul language. you'll just piss them off. 3 - if you have to move anything (i.e. picnic tables) be sure to put them back - but i'd advise against moving them anyways 4 - be respectful of other road users and pedestrians - these are the people who make the 'nuisance calls' to the police 5 - understand that you have no "right" to ride on other people's property. if they ask you to leave an area that is not for public use then politely do so. we've all got to understand that as much fun as it is to rip-up the streets like we do, there HAS to be some sort of compromise. as long as riders keep grinding and damaging public property, hassling pedestrians and annoying security guards there will ALWAYS be people who see you as a 'destructive element' of society and they will probably win any case. and then you'll see a LOT more "No Cycling" signs up! here in OKC (Oklahoma City) there is a 'bike ban' on an entire area of Downtown BECAUSE of BMXers ripping up the local architecture. no bikes at all - not even on the road! pray that it doen't get that bad over there!
  21. i liked it! it wasn't an UBER-SERIOUS, BIG GAP FEST, "LOOK AT ME - I CRAVE ATTENTION" video like so many i've seen lately - it was laid back, with some cool moments (r.i.p. Mr Brisa!) keep it up
  22. pity me i recently moved from the UK to the USA where (like the rest of the world, LH is front, RH is rear) and - as such - i have to swap levers/hoses/anything around to get what i want! however - if i say that "i have my brakes set up 'Moto style'" shops know what i mean! why does the UK have to be so bloody awkward! i rode a mate's trials bike over here and nearly killed myself pulling the wrong lever!!!

    Hubs

Pro2 Trials hubs are loud and clicky... ...so are Hope Monos... ...so are Hope XCs... ...and Bulbs... ...and if you get within 20yards of a Chris King then your head explodes from the volume! (even if the bike is stationery!)
