  1. By smooth you mean dead right? id recomend the Zoo! pads then as there nice and soft and will grip well.
  2. Get on to google and search "Phil Feeney" Download his vid "the fith edit" a absolutley super street rider!
  3. Heres my advice mate... Pedals - Onza Hognesium. Grips - Try-all/Monty foam grips. Rear magura pads - Depends on other factors such as grind/tar ect if your going smooth then id say Zoo! pads, But if your going to grind plazmatic(yellow) for dry weather and Koxx bloxx browns for wet weather. Rear tyre - For a mod its got to be maxxis creepy crawler Gloves - Kona back country(full finger) or Fox mojave(half finger)
  4. Hello everyone, I was quite bored last night and my mind began to wonder what is the best form of braking Rim or disk? Now im not asking how to get good brakes so no "get a grind" or "get some good pads" ect, No what i want to know is which one technicaly is better? Is it better to stop a wheel from the rim or the hub? At first thoughts i belived it to be the rim due do it being far away from the hub which is where the wheel spins from giving more leverage, But then i thought but if the wheel stops from where it starts this will give the better stopper or will it? So after being puzzled for a while i decided to come on here and pick your brains on the subject. Discuss...
  5. Koxx Yellow Front rim smooth- There ok but they could be better, They hold well but they lack bite and dont give out that nice squeek. Zoo! rear rim smooth with tar sometimes- Excelent they bite they hold they squeek, I dont think i could want more from a pad. Also ive got some Echo pinks in the tool box yet to try them, has anyone used them?
  6. Well i cant see the harm in doing it, I dont actualy use a front disk so i dont know for sure but i dont see why not.
  7. Dont forget its bloody freezin out there so you will have to ride it harder than normal to get the heat up.
  8. Nice bit of kit there mate! How you getting on with the rear disk?
  9. I used to have a saracen team issue but now i have a onza t-rex spec 2 pics to but put up tomorrow some time whn i have them.
  10. I got a front and rear raceline set for £40 with adaptors ect there as new condition they work like there new a bargain if you ask me. You asked: and if there any good There the same as any other magura just a different colour the only ones that are weaker is the blue ones we all know the colour blue weakens metal. (just kiddin) Have you ever set a pair up? there not realy that hard once you know how it all works and you have had a little practice.
  11. Personaly id strip the t-pro down and put all the good bits on your python, Then id keep any bits that can be kept as spares if you break somthing, or put the lesser parts on the t-pro then sell it and get some money then spend earnt money or more gear for your python. Oh yeah and id definatly sell that rb booster to me.
  12. When im at work normaly about 3 Haha i know but when im on holiday or in the summer about 10.
  13. Scared of the grinder? Read the manual, wear gloves, goggles and ear protection, tie back any loose clothing or hair get some steel toe boots what can go wrong just keep your body behind it a fair distance and keep a fair grip on it if it snatches all that will happen is it will jump off as long as you have a hold of it then you will be fine. How will you ever get good at somthing if your not prepared to learn do you shy out of things in trials? such as drops gaps ect becuase your scared of them?
  14. Did you touch the blade on the metal to find it suddenly jump towards you? if thats what happened you had the blade rotaton round the wrong way! you have to make sure the rotation faces away from you or else it will shoot back.
  15. Dont you work in a bike shop? Couldnt you get some magura's at trade price?
  16. Again Keep your hands behind the grinding wheel and you will never cut yourself. You might slip and have your foot off while your holding it or my mate might come in and see yuou bent over a rim and decide to do somthing to you... Whooops
  17. A blunt edge hurts more then a sharp edge remember that keep them blades fresh.
  18. ^^^ Best way to beat bordom If a stanley "grind" works for you make then keep it just keep them hands behind the blade!
  19. Right got my new t-rex went to set up the brakes but come accross a problem the maguras were pushed all the way in but there was still too small a gap to fit the pad in without it hitting the rim, In the end i had to remove some pad material to get it to work(about 1mm 1.5mm). Ive got hog and ronnie rims altho im not sure its a ronnie becuase its realy realy wide a lot wider than my old one, anyway this problem occured on both frame and forks just wondering if theres a fix or if ill just have to sand some off the pads all the time? And on another note i got some pink echo pads for free from tartybikes what are they like on a smooth rim?
  20. How about trying a 24"(is there a name for them yet? like stock or mod?) not quite a stock not quite a mod.
  21. Put it in the accident book mate or else your not covered if it goes septic any they have to remove your thumb. Have you gone to the hospital or doctors or wasnt it that bad?
  22. Ive tryed softwood(pine) resin it works good but i doubt it will catch on its a little more hassle than tar but becuase i work with wood i can get a hold of it any time... What i do is find a live knot in the timber then drill it out collect the drill dust and place it on somthing clean then take a razor blade and chop it(like cocaine) then roll it up on your fingers and rub it on the rim.
  23. Thats why i said it, you allways have to hit SOMTHING.
  24. Ok im getting the onza t-rex but i want to buy a load of things with it... I need to know the dimensions between the rear brake mounts so i can decide on a booster, Will it take a 2.5 rear tyre? Which is the best 2.5 rear tyre on tartybikes?
