2 parts boiling water to 1 part rice. Cover and cook on a medium heat. Depends on the rice as to how long cooking time will be but this method is drain free. You can rinse with boiling water to remove any excess starch.

I wouldn't neccesserily agree. I'm personally quite thankful (and benefit from) of the modulation of my discs and wouldn't want an on/off brake.
-
Cool, I see. The fins are only on the pads so if you replace them they'll be gone. Just shove some Nukeproof DH pads in and the brake will be fin-less. They are for drawing air on to the Ice-Tech rotors which is obviously a helpful thing in DH. See, I quite like the new lever feel as it matches my XTR's on my MTB, I just wanted to see if they were worse performance wise. The bolt holes is an interesting point, I wonder if the calliper is a different material?

What are the bad issues/problems with the new design?
-
Cheers for that. It still seems strange though as the link you put up does say HUB236 is for the EVO hub so should work.....also surely the axle you're after is just the standard Pro2 t EVO axle so it's not a new part (as it already exists in the standard hub)? Unless I'm missing something and the Skye hub has a different shell...

Ha. Not surprised. They seemed absolutely baffled when I mentioned the steel axle for my Skye. Had to speak to 3 people before anyone could help. I suppose when you make as many parts as they do it's understandable. Think you'll stick to your home made job for now?
-
Not part 236?
-
yeah that's my conundrum. Ah that's a shame. Ok well at least that's cleared it all up. They certainly make the axle (obviously) so I suppose it is just a case of asking them to supply one. I suppose the reality is there's not going to be a huge number of people trying to convert 12mm pro2 T's Evo's to 10mm....however I would have thought the odd person might have snapped one and needed it replacing? * god, conundrum was a boring word to use.
-
Oh, so the standard 10mm bolt up Pro 2 trials axle would suffice to convert an Evo version of the trials hub (from 12mm to 10mm)? I was just a bit confused as on your website it says: (10mm model fits non-Evo version of the hub only, with 15mm diameter at both ends where the end caps fit on). I'm possibly just confusing the situation?

Oh right, if you've got the skills..... yeah that's the bit i'm stuck on, the axle must exist as it comes on the Arcade full build (and Fourplays I presume) but can't see it anywhere aftermarket. I imagine Hope will be able to supply as I got a steel one off them for my Skye which isn't a 'standard' item. Just something I need to consider.... Crank setup sounds good, as do the new rotors. How are you enjoying the bike so far?

Looks great. Nice to see how a Skye build moves over to an Arcade. One quick question, where did you get the rear 10mm axle from? I notice on Tarty that the one they have for sale says it does not fit EVO hubs? Also that's pretty normal to have to run an extra spacer drive side on a Shimano BB with an Inspired. It's the case on my Skye that I need to run 3, however Saint BBs have an extra 5mm of threads drive side so that could be something to consider to keep everything held in nicely. Not sure i'd be as happy to run a standard BB with that amount of threads hanging out.

You're right, you do and I doubt you could. I actually liked the video, not the most amazingly filmed but not bad by any standards. The guy has some real flow and some nice touches (front bonk over the jump anyone?). I used to watch a lot of MTB vids and not think much of them but the more I MTB I can see what's going on and appreciate the skill level involved to ride at that speed with that control over the bike. It's certainly not as easy it it's made to look here.

I'll pick it up for you. And I will keep it.

I thought if I'm going to do this I'm going to do it right so I might forgo my opportunity until the next batch is in as I wouldn't want a half assed effort (and I couldn't just have a frame and wait to build it). Also I think if I bought 4 bikes in 18 months that could be a tad excessive. 2014 is a fresh slate and then we're back to 0 so much more justifiable. P.S. I'm surprised the 2 are still up there at the mo.
-
What? I thought the braked version just hadn't come in yet. Jeez. I might just go buck wild and order one as and when or if they come in again.
-
Thanks. I do understand how it works however. That in turn doesn't make me agree any less with Family biker that it's hypothetical credit, because it is. You seem like an honest guy though. You're right, it is a business.
-
At the same time I completely understand what you're saying. There's got to a balance and some people do worry about every incremental detail as sometimes use it as an excuse (myself included to a degree at times) for not being able to ride a certain way.

Set up doesn't mean bugger all. If you read Martyn's interview in Privateer that you'd have seen that learning to do what he did on a road bike came at the expense of comfort on his trials bike. You can adapt to any bike, when I'm on my MTB I like to mess about doing some trials stuff but it could never substitute my street bike as everything is naturally much more difficult. You're right that you can have fun on any bike and components shouldn't limit you, but sometimes a change of part can transform a bike. For instance I put a higher bar on my bike last night and it has made moving over the front of the bike easier, it's made pulling up for bunnyhops less effort and it has forced me to change my positioning for manuals so parts really do have an effect. If they didn't we'd all be on the same bike.

His post actually made me laugh and it's a valid point. I actually think this was a good point he made. A superficial charge was made irrespective of months of giving money to a company and then the good deed is to lessen the over charge/fine. I don't deny the guy in the call centre was trying to help out but there was no money off as such, they just lessened the fine. It's just like paying a parking ticket early so it is indeed hypothetical credit. Makes you as the end user happy because you feel like you saved something but that isn't the reality.
-
Well there is that thought as well.
-
Ha, it is very tempting. I've found lots of ways I can justify it to myself, but then had I never known about it would I be thinking of anything better than my Skye?
-
So Arcade bars transform a Skye. Now would a frameset be even better?
